There's a reason it's referred to as WarCrack

Even though I'd been hearing great things about this game for years from my friends, I avoided it. I knew full well if it was as great as they were saying I'd be hopelessly addicted. They were right and so was I.

I was big in the BBS and MUD world before the world wide web hit everyone's household. I was very much into playing, administrating and building MUDs. WoW's MMORPG is just the natural visual interfaced progression of that. I love it even if it does eat my free time. =)

Battlechest is the way to go if you've tried the trial and are interested in WoW.You save money and get decent info about The Buring Crusade content.Until Wrath of the Litch King comes out, this is what you should be buying.

Now as an aside I don't approve of the way Blizzard handles many things, but they do have a stable game that doesn't do strange things like wipe out your OS(as another company has done,CCP.Don't buy into their junk.)

Try the trial first to see if you like the game.If you do buy this and upgrade your account.Try different realms at first until you find one suitable to your gameplay. Then have fun, because frankly that is what this game is all about...fun.

Good Game for Parents with Teenagers

My sister and her husband play WoW in Arizona and gave us a trial run of it when we were out to visit. My oldest daughter, who is 12, enjoyed the game and so I purchased the box set with Burning Crusade and 3 months of service to see how it goes. My husband used to play Diablo, which is very similar, and so it was easy for him to pick up WoW as well. We currently live in the midwest and my daughter and I can play together online, or with my sister and brother in law. That way, my teenager is being monitored online, which makes her Daddy and I happy, and she can earn time online by doing chores around the house which makes her happy (maybe not the chores part...). We can also chat with the relatives while we play. The game experience is well created and expansive enough you don't get bored running tasks -- and it will take us a long time to work up to the higher levels. It's easy enough to play the lower levels that my 4 & 5 year olds can play a bit, too, and the graphics are not bloody or too scary for them -- though it is a game created for adults, so I wouldn't recommend leaving children on unattended.

Why wouldn't you buy both?

This contains the basic game and the expansion. There's no reason to not buy both, other than wasting money later. Though when you add up how much you can spend on Warcraft over time, buying the boxed game is the cheapest part. It's an amazing game that keeps growing; I've never seen anything like it. There's a reason there are over a million people playing.

This game is very addictive and you will invest a lot of time in this game. I've played for over 3 years and have always been at the top of my game. My husband and son are much more casual players, but it can be difficult at times even then to pull them away from the computer for dinner, etc. When you are playing.. and going into an "instance" you are in there with 4-24 other human players and you all must work as a team to defeat the monsters. Some of these can take longer than 8 hours to accomplish. (And Yes, there are LOTS of people on this game from the time they wake up until they fall asleep at their keyboard.) If you have LOTS of time to waste away, buy this game. It will keep you entertained. The addictiveness is VERY HIGH. See www.wowdetox.com

Also, there is a monthly subscription charge of $14.99 after you purchase this set.

Started playing passively at a friend's house. Wanted to play at home. Bought it (Battlechest is a smart buy), set up an account, and haven't looked back.
