Warning to "mature" Star Wars fans and gamers.

I was really hyped for this game. I read the previews, poored over the screenshots and hunted for the best buy. Finally, I plucked down my hard earned money. Guess what? I got ripped off. My mistake? This game is geared for YOUNG players only. I'm talking pre-teen. Here's why: The game manual practically reveals everything your going to encounter and the controls are loose. Game play is strictly by the numbers. Slash here, run there, nothing challenging or any chance to explore the SW universe via your GBA. As for the graphics? My 5 yr old was beside himself. (I'll admit there pretty cool.)That's right, I'm a father, that's why I said not for mature fans. There's not enough meat here for hardcore gamers to sink their teeth into and as for the SW oldtimers, unless your a collector I say wait and see if SW2 for the GBA will be better. Otherwise, this game is perfect for the Anakin aged. Know if only they had a Darth Vader or Yoda cheat...

Okay listen, I am a devoted Star Wars fan and so is my friend.
We are both really into videogames and we wanted to get JPB because of the online reviews saying that it has a 2-player mode. What a load of crap! Not only does it not have a 2-player mode, but the game is extremely repetitive throughout the entire story(with the exception of one level).
Not to mention the insanity I went through on all the cliffs.
There is virtually no way of telling how far away something is, so you always waste a life falling off.
Trust me, this game isnt worth the ... I paid for it.For the most part, the graphics are OKAY and it is pretty smooth too. But most of all I blame all the shopping sites that
list under features: 1 or 2-player mode. What bull. They need to do their research before posting stuff like that.(SERIOUSLY)

Terrible Controls

First of all, I am a huge Star Wars fan. That said... This game looks like it would be a neat game and I'm sure it would...IF the play control was decent, but it's not. This has the worst play control out of every GBA game that I've played so far. Jumping is nearly impossible to do accurately. That alone makes the game far too difficult and bothersome to play. Things happen to my character all of the time. For example: I want to jump out and to an angle to jump to another platform, but the dumb thing jumps straight up and then I fall straight down into a pit. End of Life. THQ should have spent more time making the play control better or not released it at all. This game is a real disappointment.

My ten year-old brother-in-law picked this game out for me for Christmas, but I think he really wanted it for himself. The graphics and sound are very good, but the game play isn't very entertaining.

Good... not great.... and too short.

Hi! I'm a huge star wars fan.
I just finished this game after 2 hours of gameplay.
It's ok, challenging in the last levels (I mean.... 10 levels... that would make the last levels 7 through 10)
It DOES have problems:
It's easy to fall into a pit and loose a life thus making you start from the beggining (it's not like the levels are long) But the last level with Darth Maul is impossible. Not for it's difficulty in fighting, but because it's mandatory to fall into a pit when Darth Maul hits you with a lighting bolt. YOU CANNOT NOT FALL... believe me.
Way too short as well, I finished it in 2 hours, I mean... 40$= 2 hours of gameplay? no sir.
The game's fun while it lasts, but I would rent it if I were you... don't even consider buying it cause once you're done with it you won't pick it up again. Although you can as play Obi-Wan, Qui-Gonn and Mace Windu (with different moves)... it's really boring to start all over again through the same levels.
Another really bad feature is the fact that the game doesn't have any cut scenes (at least a slide show would have been nice to remind you of the movie and of the storyline to it) It's like, once you beat a level, you just jump to the next one, on a completely different location without any consideration of the actual game's plot. That was really annoying.

Finally, the bosses are ok except for JAR JAR!
Can you believe you actually fight Jar Jar twice? I couldn't beleive my eyes when that boss came on. hahahaha. And no... you don't get any pleasure in fighting him since he doesn't cry or anything... plus... he just runs away after he's beaten.
THQ missed some points but I guess that's cool.
It's not a bad game, as I said... it's good not great.
Rent it... and have a 2 hour break.

NO CONTROL

This game is really awesome in some ways but in other it stinks. For example: The weapons, characters and moves are sweeeeet. But you can bearly see what you are doing. The lighting is AWEFUL. This game may be fun to play for about 3 days but then the problems get in the way. This game also has almost NO CONTROL. The controls stink. Do not even think about jumping because it is impossible. Most of the game is based on jumping from platform to platform. There are little guys that stand on the platform that you can not kill from you current position so you try jumping and end up beening pushed off by them. Very Frusterating. The saving on this game is also a big issue. The game gives you codes that are like 5-15 letters long so they are really hard to write down and get correct. I was almost about to beat the game but the code I wrote down was incorrect so I LOST!!!!!!! Other than all that this game is pretty decent. Do not think I am a totally killing this game I just choose to state the problems. It just was not my favorite. So enjoy this game!

The Best (and only) Star Wars game for the GBA

I am also a fan of the Playstation version of this game, and was pumped when they announced that it would be coming out for the GBA. I love SW games and buy almost every one that comes out for a system I own. If anyone has read the review in Nintedo Power of JPB they might come off thinking that this game is no different than Obi Wan Adventures for the GBC. I own both games, and while perhaps JPB could possibly have taken a little better advantage of the GBA's graphical abilities, I was happy with the game. My main grudge with Obi Wan Adv. was that it was soooo sloooow. JPB is very quick paced, and the characters run pretty fast. There are the 4 playable characters in the GBA version: Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, and Mace Windu (you can unlock Darth Maul after beating the game). Each character has his own unique moves and Force move. The levels are very lush and detailed, and killing droids lets off a cool sparks. The gameplay is very challanging, and jumping can be tricky at times. But overall, I highly recommend this game.
