Decent Game

I really liked this game, the sound was much better than the first and the recipies were much more fun!

It is pretty realistic in graphics, so if you like cooking, you should check it out!

My Kids love this game

I bought my daughter this game for her birthday. She also got one in the mail from her Uncle. So I gave my son the other one. My 9 year old son and 7 year old daughter love this game. I think they like it much more than the first one. They have not played the first one since they got this game. They won't put it down. I would say you have to buy it, its a lot of fun.

A wonderful game

My 7 year old daughter got this on Saturday from her grandparents and she loves playing with it. She has played with it all weekend; only taking food, bathroom and sleep breaks. The game has no faults that either my wife and I could find (We play it when she goes to bed). My daughter loves making different dishes and feels successful when cooking with Mama (she does give the fire/evil eyes if you mess up) and loves cooking for her friends. This is a great game for any child who loves to experience new dishes.

One of the BEST games YET!

If you love to cook then your going to love this game! It is just so amazing how you can use the DS pen to cut onions, cook dishes, and control everything you want to do to your food! This is a really fun game but sometimes it is hard (which is good because you want to have a challenge), not hard enough to take the fun out of it though and that is even better.

To do really good in the game and get high scores you have to do your cooking perfect. If it turns out perfect and you do it all exactly the way they want you to then you move up in the game. Some of the cooking is harder than others.

I have about 10 games for my DS and this is one of the ones I play the most. This one and Animal Crossing are my two favorites! They are both addictive and so much fun.

I am 23 years old so if your an adult wondering about this game, yes you will love it! The age totally doesn't matter!

BETTER THAN COOKING MAMA 1

Of course this game is better than the first one. Vastly improved graphics and cute melodies for every action. One disappointing factor, the character speaks broken English with a very heavy Japanese accent. It should've been dubbed with an American. Turn the volume down.

fun and addicting

I got this game and it is really addicting. I did get the first and this is better. I also tried someone else's master chef. The cooking mama' both 1&2 are better. More game play than story. The only thing is its all free play. So there is no starting level. You just choose something and make. The funny and scary part is the "don't worry mama will fix it" She doesn't look too happy.

The only reason I gave it four stars is because cooking mama 1 is alot better to me.Not so much grilling.
I love both cooking games cooking mama 1 and 2. so if you have 1 you must get 2 to complete your collection.I am just a Cooking mama junkie and if a cooking mama 3 and 4 came out I'd buy them tommorow.

Game is fun, BUT......

It is a fun game but there are some things that I am surprised that changes weren't initiated in Cooking Mama2.

I usually watch TV news, reality TV etc. while I play. Usually you can turn music off or down without effecting the game sounds. When you mess up a step during cooking, you can't start again in the step before. Sometimes it is hard to tell how you messed up and the directions for certain steps could be a bit clearer. I can do most of the tasks but the biggest problem I have is difficulty cutting the meat and peeling the carrots and sometimes the potatos in the alloted time.

Otherwise it is a great game to pass the time with.

I luv cooking mama.

This is the coolest game ever. So after awhile, you get all the meals and can't exactly move on with anymore meals. That just means you have to get gold medals on each one! haha. It's great. The presents part in annoying though since anyone can easily get a star. =/ haha.

Cooking Mama 2: Electric Boogaloo

Cooking Mama was one of the first games I bought when I got my DS because it looked cute and fun and good for when I just wanted to turn my brain off for a few minutes. I ended up getting ridiculously obsessed with it and bought Cooking Mama 2 before I'd even finished half of the first game.

And it was definitely worth getting even if, for the most part, it's just more of the same. Being able to change Mama's look is fun, and cooking for Mama's friends adds a bit more challenge than was present in the first game. One thing I really love is that some steps have been condensed; slicing up and chopping an onion is now all included in one step instead of having you slice, see Mama's assessment, slice another way, see Mama's assessment, chop, etc.

My only big complaint is about the new bonus presents. While they are not entirely pointless (you can use them to decorate your diary entries, although I'm personally not using the diary), they really seem to be that way, and it takes forever for the bonus to be calculated, the presents to appear, and the one you picked to open up. And with some longer recipes you might have enough bonus stars to have to sit through the whole thing more than once! It's definitely an annoyance, but when the rest of the game is so enjoyable, it's an annoyance I can live with.

If you weren't a big fan of the first one, Cooking Mama 2 is going to be just as repetitive and not different enough to win you over. But if you really loved the first one, it's definitely worth checking out. And if you're new to the world of Cooking Mama, I would very much recommend this game over the first; the concept hasn't changed much, but the slight improvements make it an even more enjoyable game.
