The best Nintendo DS brain game yet

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 90 / 91
Date: January 10, 2008

This game has the best graphics and instructions, and all the games are challenging and fun. The stress games are especially challenging. I own Brain Age 1 and 2, Big Brain Academy, and Flash Focus. This game combines all of these games and more. I highly recommend this game to all who enjoy expanding, educating, and challenging their minds. The only con is that they did not include Sudoku which would have made Brain Challenge the ultimate superior brain game.

Great compilation of games!

I think this is one of the best compilation of "Brain games" out there for the Nintendo DS. I had briefly played Brain age-II on my friend's DS and I think this game has more variety than Brain age. I was impressed with the graphics and the variety of games in this collection (especially in the logic section). Whether you are thinking about your first game in this genre or thinking about expanding to your brain games library, this is a great pick.

This game is so much better than Brain Age, which I got tired of within the first couple of weeks. This game continues to keep me entertained with a great number and variety of games, as well as the ability to keep unlocking new ones to add to the mix. I also like the different categories of Stress Testing vs. Brain Testing, it just doubles the amount of games that there are to play. This game is really fun, I have a hard time putting it down!

Best Brain Game Released

If you are only going to buy one "brain game" for the DS, make it this one. Brain Challenge trumps Brain Age 1 and 2 and Flash Focus. Brain Challenge has a lot more games and is much more addicting. Each time you play a game you get a letter grade. I am currently trying to get A's on all of the different games. It isn't very easy!

The graphics in Brain Challenge trump the other brain games as well.

Only one gripe--one of the games in the Stress Training is impossible to do left handed. It requires the use of both the D-pad and the stylus. Grr. It would have been simple enough to let the player use X and Y.

Better than Brain Age!!

This game is better than Brain Age 1 and 2. I had difficulty with Brain Age games because I cannot hear good and speak well so I am not able to get the game's full potential.

With Brain Challenge, you are not required to hear or speak so it was great for me. It has alot variety of games to test you. I liked them all! Brain Challenge lets you unlock games quicker than Brain Age. I still have alot of games I haven't unlocked on Brain Age 2 and that takes forever to.

Ditch both Brain Age games and get Brain Challenge. You won't be disappointed!

Best of the Bunch

I have a number of 'brain games' for the DS, PC, and Palm computer. This is by far the best in overall presentation. Brain Age, of course, has the authority of a neurologist behind it, while Brian Challenge repeats the old canard that we 'only use ten percent of our brains.' But if you put that aside and are just looking for something to stimulate your brain beyond the hand-eye coordination of traditional games, then this is a pretty good choice. You'll find that the games are fun to play just for the heck of it!

Cream of the Crop

I never liked Brain Age or Big Brain Academy; I considered them to be dull busy work that a cruel teacher might make you do in school. Brain Challenge really surprised me as a vast improvement on the genre. Like other reviewers have said: the presentation is much nicer, there's more variety, and the games are more fun. I can't honestly believe this game is only $20 because it has so many different games on it. They even have bonus games for creativity, relaxation, and your "sixth sense." Don't take the name too lightly though, because it will definitely challenge your brain quite a bit and can be stressful at times. But hey, it comes with "stress training" games too!

Will this game really help you in your daily life? Maybe a little, but life doesn't happen on a tiny screen. The math parts will definitely help you perform simple calculations more quickly, but honestly that's not something that matters to me anyway. The truth is I think it's absurd to believe that playing games like these will make a very noticeable difference in your actual life, but it's fun! I like logic games like sudoku and visual puzzles like Neves (tangrams), and I just think of this along the same lines. The small difference it might make in brain function (if it actually makes any) is just an added bonus. In other words, it's still a toy, not a tool... but what a great toy for $20!

The sound and graphics in Brain Challenge are just great,so are the bright colors and different tests. You have a stress test to do daily and a Brain test which can be done as many times a day as you want.
I have most of the brain games and this one is my favorite.I am now up to 92% of my brain and my stress level is down to 12% which is great.
I got this game as my 2nd DS game and I really love it.My second favorite brain game is Big Brain Academy.
In this game you get to choose a male coach or a female coach to help you through. You also learn all kinds of facts about your brain as you go along in play.
This is the best Brain Game I think DS has put out thus far.Try it I am sure you will agree!

This is a great way to keep the kids brain challenged during the summer. The games are quick but challenging. I'm in a contest with my daughter to see who can use the most of their brain. The daily test lets you know how much of your brain you are using. very fun
