Greatest Tony Hawk Game Yet

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 0 / 0

In this new tony hawk game you start out as a regular horrible skayer with one friend, but as you go throughout the game he turns out to by one of your worst enemys.By stealing some of your greatest moves, and taking your first chance to become pro. There are some pretty awesome tricks that you can do such as a McTwist right over a police helicopter. Most of the time there is a car sitting somewhere that you can jump into if you need to get to a place quick. One of the best parts in this game though I believe is the create-a-trick/create a course.

Like most of the tony hawk games it doesn't have the greatest grafics, but it was good enough for me. This game is way funner than all the Tony Hawk games before it. My advice to anyone wanting a great skateboarding game is to get this one. Best I've ever seen.

The best tony hawk's game ever!

This game is the best tony hawk's game I've ever played the features are totally awesome and the idea of being able to do missions in cars is totally rad! The only flaw that kept it from getting 5 stars is the missions on it, they were fairly simple and thats only because i put the difficulty "normal" imagine if it were easier than that. But overall this game was bada$$ the graphics in this game are awesome. so dont wait, stop playing games like true crime and get your a$$ up and buy it. oh! on one more thing. being able to get off your skateboard and walk around is amazing

THUG: a legend to be

THUG IS A GREAT GAME IN ITS OWN WAY FOR MANY REASONS ONE IS THE FACT THAT YOU CAN GET OFF YOUR BOARD AND CLIMB TO REACH NEW HEIGHTS. THIS IS ONE NEW FEATURE IN THE GAME. ANOTHER REASON IS THE FACT THAT YOU GET TO PLAY AS YOU{ NOT A PRO SK8TER} ONE WAY IS YOU CAN DOWNLOAD YOUR FACE{PS2 ONLY} AND PLAY AS YOU WITH YOUR FACE ON THE CHARACTER, OR YOU CAN MAKE A CHARACTER FROM SCRATCH. EITHER WAY YOU CAN PLAY UNKNOWN AND MAKE IT FROM SKATE PUNK TO PRO. ANOTHER FEATURE IS YOU CAN CREATE YOUR OWN LEVELS, BOARDS, TRICKS, CHARACTERS, AND UNLOCK A VARIETY OF UNLOCKABLES AND MANY MORE. "BOTTOM LINE: BEST GAME EVER. I GIVE IT 5 OUT OF 5 THANKS

before i heard of red faction 2 this was the best game. now tis second best. well anyways i like the create a sk8-er stuff that they added. I like making an insanely weird guy and then tricking him out. But overall, i am the master of this game. No one could beat me. codes or no codes. i am the master.but i reccomend this. i have not tried #2 yet so i can't say which is better. but this is pretty fun.

This game is great. There are a few problems though. No actual pro skaters or least any you can use in story mode. Way too short I beat the game in about 3 hours and that is in the second hardest mode. But awesome graphics and plot. The plot is a kid from Jersey on his way to the top.

A skeptical fan of the THPS Series

It was about a week after my b-day when I finally scrounged up enough cash to buy a game for my beloved PS2. I went to my favorite store in the entire world (Target of course) and browsed through shelves and shelves of games. However I was torn when I came across one game in particular, Tony Hawk Underground (we'll refer to it as THUG to save space.) I looked at the box, and from the moment I saw it I WAS HOOKED. I have been a fan of the THPS series since Tony made his blocky, pixelated debut on the PS1, but I had determined that Neversoft and Atari were taking things too far after the release of THPS3. I decided that I would not play another one of my beloved TH games until neversoft made a few adjustments. THUG was exactly what I was looking for, the graphics of my PS2 mixed with the idea of creating your own story completely enthralled me I was like OH MY GOD THIS IS FRIGGIN AWESOME DUDE!!!! THUG's gameplay is completely spectacular, based on the free range emotion system that made games such as GTA3 and Vice city ever so popular. Not to mention the fact that you don't have to pretend that you're an existing pro skater... instead paving your way from the dirty, drug ridden streets of NJ (your hometown) To living in the lap of luxury as a full sponsored rider with the company of your choice!!! THUG also has the capability of an innovative system called face mapping in which you can place a digital photo of yourself (or friends or celebs) on the body of a custom rider ... and it actually looks realistic THUG is a revolutionary game that all PS2 owners should give a shot.

For Fans who are sick of playing the old ones...

Tony Hawk Underground is for you. The game is without doubt, the strangest approached to the every popular game series. While most of the features stay the same (Create-a-park, Create-a-skater, etc.) new ones are found, like Create-a-trick, which I'm still confused on. You can also create your own board design, but besides that, most of it is still the same as THPS4.

The only difference that separates this game from the other ones is its new "Story mode", which grasps a new look at the skateboarding world, but not surprising, much to say 2002's hoverboard game "AirBlade" which was story based. THU has you start out as a skater from New Jersey (which you get to design what he looks like, but the voice sill sounds the same no matter what). You and your friend what to make it big. So, you go through several levels of tasks people ask you to do, ala THPS4, whereas you can roam around as much as you want but have to complete these tasks if you want to press on. As you DO press on, the challenges become more and more harder...no, make that impossible. Most of the tasks were so hard, that I forced myself to look up the cheats online. This is not a good sign for a game that is supposed to be entertaining on a factor of laziness. A new factor in the game allows the player to actually "get-off" his board and walk around. Also, you can ride other things besides skateboards, like cars, go-carts and tanks. This, however, becomes a Con against the Pros in the game. The driving factor is poor. You feel like you're riding a Vaccum cleaner, or a bumper car; in other words, traction is poor. But other than that, the game is really fun. I really enjoyed the Hawaii level, because out of all the levels in a THPS game, this one looked almost extactly like Waikiki. New York and Moscow look kinda weired, and the New Jersey level merely looked like the Suburbia level from THPS3, only with a smoggy sky (oh yeah, being how Jersey is so unbearable to live). Tony Hawk, Bob Burnquist, Bam Margera and a bunch of other skating talents lend their voices to the game, and sometimes, their ego (Margera acts just like himself on "Jackass", finding an almost perverted obession over the Russian Tanks, in the Moscow level). The story is very interresting, because at one point, your friend betrays yous...over, and over, and OVER again, yet you keep on trusting him for some reason. So you just put in the skate boarding style game with a good moral lesson on friendship, and THU could probably be a After-school special. One really strange thing I noticed for some reason was how in the Moscow level, it is as if Communism never left Russia, because all the guards still dress in Soviet uniforms, and the Red Hammer and Sickle is displayed everywhere, from the building to the tanks. Um, did the designer of the game know anything about history? Thank God he didn't create a Berlin level, cause I think that would of caused some controversy!

THU is a fun game for THPS fans who are sick of played parts 3 and 4, and want a new challenge. With new features and crisper graphics, they should be pleased; but be warned, that this isn't an ordinary skater game. Heck, none of them are.

Tony Hawk UnderGround. What do I think?

EASY! $50 for a game that I beat in about 4 days-on sick [expert mode]. It's a little short, but it's also got some pretty cool stuff.

Driving cars: Fun, but kinda corny. The handling sorta stinks, but when you want to take a break from skating, it's definetely refreshing.

Walking: Uh,hello.Grand Theft Auto? Not very satisfying if you've played GTA before.

Creating Parks: This is cool. You get alot more to choose from in Create-A-Park than any other Tony Hawk Game, since you can put in anything from a kicker ramp, to a Skyscraper or even a Party boat!

Creating Tricks: Totally Awesome! They should have made this long before now! You get to choose from any variety of grabs, fliptricks, rotations, or put in a special trick to rake in the points.

Creating Decks: Alright, but some pretty weird and tasteless designs to choose from though.

Creating Characters: O.K. There isn't enough good looking faces to choose from.

Story Mode: Better than career, but you need to be able to make money still. You take trips around the world for free! Although, other than that, it's pretty cool, and you get alot more freedom than any other Tony Hawk Game.

Network settings: Best Part! You can download so many cool things, but I won't spoil it for you and tell about the really cool things you can get.

This is my outlook on THUG. I might have made it sound like you might not want to get it, but trust me, it's pretty well-worth-it.Well what are you waiting for? Go play it!
