if you are looking for a good crhistian game this is not your game but if you are looking for an unrelenting bloodbath and hours and hours of fun then this is the perfect game for you. the controls are sorta heard to get used to but once you get started its very hard to put down the graphics are great and the cut scenes are crazy. this is an all around great game.

Beware of this game! NOT RECOMMENDED

For all of the gamers...the game control is difficult to grasp. The graphics are pretty good for the most part. Gameplay is kinda of weak because of how easy it is to just take out opposing characters.

Now the core of my review: This game is dark! I've played other games that some would deem pretty creepy. This game traverses the line into extreme GOTHIC. The mind from which this game spawned from is more than likely steep into the occult. I would strongly caution parents away from this game. I would urge anyone considering this game to do so with complete scrutiny. You have to be free of much moral character to appreciate a game this evil.

A friend of mine had industry reviews of the game stating that Marilyn Manson had a part in the games development. CAUTION! That it and of itself should be reason to stay clear of this game.

Luckily, I rented the game, thinking it held a driven story and fast-action gameplay. I played it for 10 minutes and returned it after that.

I imagined this game to be Kain from Blood Omen transported to MOH:FrontLine, and the gameplay isnt far from it, though its a bit grosser(sexier?) to watch Bloodrayne grind on her victims as she drinks their blood than it is to watch Kain. However, while MOH:Frontline and Blood Omen (I & II) all offered good storylines, Bloodrayne is ridiculously lacking in that capacity: Agent Bloodrayne must go after her vampire rapist father who is in league with Nazis in 1938 after having watched her mentor get eaten by a huge parasite that was created by a nazi in cahoots with a Cajun Witch in Louisiana (psssssssss.......I think they stole this plot from a Stephen Seagal flick).

The graphics varie greatly from part to part. Bloodrayne herself is rendered beautifully, but many of the enemies look like they stepped out of a fps from ps1. Also the difficulty varies alot from place to place which can be annoying, the first boss is pretty difficult, but then you get a bunch of cake opponents to fight for a pretty long time. I was also dissapointed that the gameplay does not really involve stealth at all seeing as how your supposed to be an AGENT INFILTRATING
Nazi Compounds and such. However, this game has so many problems that the fact that Nazis wait dumbly in their rooms while a crazy rambo inspired vampiress goes on a loud killing spree is the least of a gamers worries.

If playing as a hot chick that slurps blood is your thing then I recommend this game. If vampires are your thing then get Blood Omen II, or Soul Reaver II. If playing as a hot chick is your thing get Drakan: The Ancient gates, or wait for the new Tomb Raider. If fighting Nazis is your thing get MOH:front Line.

verdict: wasted money

Boring, repetitious game

This game, in my mind, looked great. When I bought it, it looked like a Resident-Evil type of game featuring a vampire. Well, I was wrong. It is a boring game. There isn't too much excitement, aside from the beginning of the game. It's all the same thing, over and over. Kill kill, shoot shoot, kill shoot kill. Not really that much fun, in my opinion.
If you want a scary, fun, intelligent game, try Resident Evil. Any of the Resident Evils.

I am a pretty big gamer. So i would like to think i am not blowing smoke but this game just did not cut it. Mabey 2 or 3 years ago this game would be cool but for a PS2 game the graphics where so so and the game flow... You would be better off spending your money somewhere else.

Poorly made game

When I first read about this game I thought it would be a lot of fun to play because I like horror/adventure games. Then I
started to play and the dissappointment set in. First of all graphics are one of the most important aspects of this type of
game and BloodRayne comes up short in the graphics department.
The graphics lack detail and they are full of tiny glitches that detract from the game. A good story might have helped but
BloodRayne doesn't even have that. I think BloodRayne had the potential to be a good game but low quality graphics and a poor story make it a bad. Spend your mfoney on something else.

Take a half-vampire with a severe case of parental rebellion and add zombies, Nazis, a heap of unpleasant critters and bad news bosses and you have the makings of Bloodrayne (and about a dozen ofther games as well. As Rayne, you fight your way from the bayous to Argentina, in a wild hunt to keep ex-Supreme Commander Jurgen Wulf from reassembling Beliar, a demon even older than Satan himself. If you are thinking running around killing everything that moves, you have pretty well pinpointed the key features of this game.

Rayne has all the requisite weapons and attacks, the artwork is good, and the action is unending. Unfortunately, the game starts out awkwardly and then settles into a predicatble and somewhat tedious pattern. Your first real hint that this game has a real problem is when you hit the first major boss after the initial mission. It's not that you don't have the stuff to kill him, it's that killing him requires a set of motions that are almost impossible to do, and it requires them repeatedly.

This leaves the player with two choices - get killed until you are ready to scream, or cheat. Nor does cheating work wonders, it just reduces the pain. This happens several other times in the progress of the game. There is a lot to play, but much of the play is more frustrating than fun. At first, I thought the problem was my middle-aged reflexes, but I've note the same issue being brought up elsewhere. And this isn't the type of game where there is a payoff for all the controllers thrown against the wall.

You will have to decide for yourself. There is nothing particularily unique about this game, but there certainly is lots of violence and gore for entertainment. But I believe there are too many more interesting shooters to invest hours in this one. The good news is that the price keeps dropping and there are lots of cheat codes. The not-so-good news is that then you have to play it.

I was one of the lucky ones..I didn't have to shell out the money to try this one since my girlfriend bought it for me for Christmas...I wouldn't have gotten it...not without trying it out first. The game. It's not terrible. There are certainly worse games out there, because it definitely has it's moments. I think the most disappointing features of this game are with the graphics, which are very inconsistent. Some areas are done well enough, others seem like they were an afterthought. Rayne herself was renedered beautifully..but some of her movements are very choppy and don't flow together. The exception to this is when you are in Blood Rage..which when done at times when you are hacking countless enemies has some cool effects. Besides the graphics another problem is the forced sexuality..namely close ups of breasts jigglying oddly and at odd times...sometimes seemingly for no reason.

this game is a definite try before your buy.

I did try to get into this game, however, with sloppy controls and very cut and dry graphics i really thought it should have been better in my view. This game plays to much like Tomb Raider (control wise) and all the battles are either jerky or really bad. I would only get this game if your a huge fan of the Tomb Raider games (which i am not). Rent it, before you buy it.

This game is pretty cool if you're a fan of vampires. I'm one of them, OBSEST with them almost. This game is really cool, Rayne kicks butt! All the variety of weapons and moves. It's one game you definattly don't want to play at night in a dark room if you're weak at heart and scare easily. Hehe i can be at times. This game has a gothic look too it which makes it so cool. Love the voices, specially since two are the voice actors of my favorite anime Dragonball Z. It's a definite buy as i've said if you're into vampires and blood and gore and all that good stuff in video games. I rated it three stars for the moment cause I just got it and haven't got used to the controls and way of moving just yet. This game kicks [butt]!!
