Its a GREAT game, but NO netplay!

The other review implies that the US version of Rally 2 has netplay... it DOESNT... it is STILL an incredible game but the netplay HAS been removed from the US version... Dont let the lack of netplay scare you thou. The game DEFINATLY stands on its own without netplay... it is the most fun racing game that I've played since Daytona CCE and the ORIGINAL Sega Rally :) Its a DEFINATE must have for the DC if you like racing games... even just a little.

Anyone that has already played the Japanese version of this game knows it rules. with the new dreamcast version featuring 14 cars and 12 tracks and graphics like you've never seen in a racing game. The online play was a bit hard at first before sega fixed it. But now I can say it's up and running smooth. This is the racing game for this Christmas.

The Greatest Rally Racing Game of Them All?

When I heard that Sega Rally Championship 2 was coming out for Dreaamcast, I knew I had to have it. Let's be honest. No one makes arcade racers like SEGA (except maybe Namco). So when one of their best arcade racers comes home loaded with extras, you know you're in for treat.

To tell you the truth, I almost traded this game in right after I purchased it. Why? The arcade mode was unforgiving, and really just repeats itself after the first time. I thought I had been cheated. And then I tried the 10 year championship mode.

My oh my. The championship mode on this game has got to be one the greatest racing experiences that can be had on a game console. You have two view modes, both of them PERFECT. You have car customization, but not the boring, confusing, time wasting sort that has become common nowadays. You have SEGA arcade-style music, which I happen to love. You fantastic slip-and-slide physics which make controling the cars a blast. You have TONS of different variations on the race tracks (every one of them a perfect example of AWESOME track design). And lastly, you have some of the most beautiful graphics in any racing game ever. Honestly, the first time I raced a track at sunset, I was OVERJOYED that I didn't get rid of this game when I considered doing it. The most beautiful graphics in any racing game can (in my humble opinion) be found in the original Wipeout, and this game.

The only downside to this game is the simple fact that it's too hard. I simply CANNOT get past the 9th year in the 10 year championship. And forget about 1st place in arcade mode unless you're superman. But perhaps that's part of what makes this game so great. You keep coming back for one more go, because it's so darn fun and so darn hard. Better that than hard and not fun (I'm talking to you Nintendo). For arcade racing fans this game is an absolute must.

Since amazon is only letting me choose 4 or 5 stars i guess it's closer to 5. Rally2 is to date the best racing game i've ever played on a home console. Not only are the driving machanics accurate but the overall graphic presentation is nice too. This game definately requires skill and some knowledge of suspension tuning will help in the 10 year championship mode. The only thing that keeps the game from really being a perfect 5 stars is the confusing signs and co-driver instructions in the game. Well, that and maybe the fact that the wheels are somewhat angular;). ~K

Sega Rally 2 kicks ass! I bought mine for $5 and you guys are selling it for $9.99! You guys are pathetic! But enough about that, Sega Rally 2 gives you the highest performance of Rally Racing. The best racing game in dreamcast is Tokyo Extreme Racer, but this is second best! The hard part is getting 1st in all races and beating each year! Thats what makes it so fun and exciting!

If you're looking for a great rally race, Sega Rally 2 is here to you. Don't be fooled by those reviews that guive only few stars. The game is not so hard, like some gamers says.The game is competitive. I'm already have finish the game in both Arcade and 10 years mode, and the 8th year is not so hard, as some had say. Actually it took 12 tentatives to win. These just help to increase the replay value of the game. And about the graphics, they are the best graphics you will see in a racing games so far. they dont even have resemblance to the blurry graphics of the old saturn version. The most impressive thing on the graphics is how "real" they are. The texture of the gravel is Gorgeous, an the light effects is the most reallistic in the racing game history. Many have complainy about the gameplay. C'mon...this is a rally game. what you expect? to do a curve in a mud, slippery road and do not slide? This is a Rally game. Not a Indy Race. If you're looking for a great rally game, RUN to buy Sega Rally 2

By far the best racing game ever made.

Graphics are beautiful (with the exception of the 4 tracks taken from the previous Saturn version).

The car control is the most realistic of any racing game but might require adjustment for players not familiar with rallying racing techniques.

The 10 year championship is very challenging and makes this game last longer than other racing games.

The replay mode is spectacular and is as close to live TV as can be made on a game system.

Must-Have for racing fans.

I like the game personally since if you take the time to setup everything you can beat the life out of the game. not to try and plug anyone but the unofficial DCM has all the settings you might need for this game as well.

Sega Rally is in high gear all the while you play it. The graphics are very smooth and they paid attention to detail even down to rolling wheels and mud puddles. The multiyplayer rocks the single player is a lot of fun too. This game esily ranks as one of the best games for DC yet.
