Doom Rocks!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 4 / 14

Of course i havn't played Doom for GBA, but i have played it for computer. The game is awsome. I have checked out the official Doom GBA website and it appears to have no major changes to the game other than its on GBA. I really think that the 2 player co-op and 4 player deathmatch will be sweet. I am definately buying this game when it hits stores.

Doom finally makes a return!!!

I haven't played the game on Gameboy Advance yet, but I have played it on my computer.
I remember back a few years ago, that this was my favorite game, and I used to play i for hours.
Some say that Doom,t gave birth to first person shooters, it most certainly did.
With awesome graphics, and an excellent gameplay which will strike much fear into your hearts, (especially when alone in a room), this game is made for nothing else but have fun.
If you are an avid first person shooter fan, then you should definitly get this game.
This game features all the classic gameplay and fun from the original game, all packed into a cartrige, for awesome 3D action on the go.
The game also features a 4- player arena mode which should be really cool.
So if you ask me, you should definitly add this game to your GBA library, for hours of fun.
Also all those who cannot wait for Doom 3, should get this game!!!

I would like to make a correction to a previous review ...in a review with David A. Palmer, the people porting the game to the GBA, they said that it contained several new levels, 4 to be exact. That means that there are 28 levels *PLUS* 8 death match levels.I've seen tons of screenshots, and it looks way better than Dark Arena or Ecks vs. Sever. I AM GOING TO BUY THIS.

i cant wait!!

EXTREMELY CHOPPY...... its an ok game, but its exactly like the computer version. the multi link is the only uprise in the game, so all you Goldeneye and Perfect Dark lovers, buy it. it even has co-op (note: in multi, its even more choppy)

Many a year have a dreamt of the time when I could play my all time favorite game anywhere, anytime. So maybe I still can’t play it anywhere (like in the dark), but still this is close enough to make me very, very happy. A direct port of the original doom this is not, but very close. Any long time doom fan will notice right away that details from the original PC doom are missing, a pool of blue goo here, a pillar there, but nothing to cry over and it is still very close to the original. That said, the game is amazing! I had my doubts that the GBA could handle Doom but it seems to just fine (though I have yet to try the multi-player mode). Every once in a while you might notice the frame rate drop but it is nothing that will hamper the players enjoyment. The game has always been dark, but the developer has addressed this issue very well by give player the ability to lighten or darken the game to suit there lighting situation and also by allowing you to turn of the in game dynamic lighting. I will post an updated review as soon as I have a chance to beat it and try all the features.

Impressive graphics; basic gameplay

If you're a fan of the Doom series you get exactly what you've wanted -- no more, no less. The Game Boy Advance continues to impress in the graphics arena (Tony Hawk 2 was the first indication) and the port is pretty darn true to the original Doom. Somewhat grainy visuals (direct from the original game) and very basic gameplay bring the game down a notch, but it's still as fun as ever.

If you were a fan of the original, or want to see what really started the Quakes, Unreal Tournaments and Counter Strikes of the world, get this game.

I AM SOOOOO excited!Doom for Game boy advance is going to be awesome. Apparently it is basically the same as it was on PC. Though outdated by games like Half-Life and Quake III on the PC, doom is revalutional on Game Boy Avance. I am definately bying it as soon as it comes out! GET IT! I COMMAND YOU! You won't regret it!

Doom is still an awesome game, even if it is ten years old. So get it.

Fun Multiplayer and game

I just got Doom and I turned the game on with high expectations only to be horrified with a dark game with slower than usual animation. Later, I figured out that if you go to options and put on Static Lightning and change the brightness, and put on autorun it plays as a fast shooter that is very fun.
