A hidden treasure at first, but in the end it lacks gameplay

Suzuki Alstare is a basic crouch rocket, traveling around 225 mph through dirt, snow, sand, ect. The game features twelve tracks, six "super bikes", and four modes .(Reverse mode, Split Screen, ect.) The graphics are very rich and smooth. The also has a frame rate at 60 fps, which isn't bad.

Suzuki Alstare has a few mayor flaws. The physics in the game is one of them. There is a lack of feel of going fast. Another flaw in the physics is falling. Also your progress is based around your racing competition. That means if you start another competition you have restarted the tracks that you have earned. During the racing competition there is big gap in difficulty and when you get a upgraded the "super bike" it's very hard to handle.

Although having some mayor flaws the game has some great upsides to it. The are simply put great. The bikes and tracks are very detailed. the 60 fps make up for some 2D graphics. The game doesn't use up a ton of vmu space, only 16 blocks. It has some what of a upside in gameplay. Suzuki Alstare is some what fun.

Overall, would recommend the game to rent. But if you don't mind the lack of long-term value go ahead and buy it.

This game is not near as fun as other racing games I have played sure the handling is good and realistic but gameplay is just ok. I just didnt have the ambition to keep advancing in the game. I dont know maybe I just like the freedom of games that let you just cruise around like need 4 speed. the game was fun for all my little cousins. No thinking involved just go. Look for a different title if you want more than just racing but if you just want speed on a bike not a bad buy.

Suzuki Alstare Extreme Racing could have been a lot better

Thnk about it: a motorcycle racing game with great graphics and sound. But the gameplay stinks.

First of all, you have to race others through enviornments full of sharp turns and bends. This is where the control should come in handy. It doesn't. You have very little control over your motorcycle, and turning a sharp turn is very hard without crashing into a wall and blowing up. and when you blow up, you have to wait a 3 sec. while you get back into gear. But besides that, motorcycle games should be when you are able to fly through the level at high speed. Not in this one. You have to go slow. Very slow. to avoid crashing into a wall or blowng up. To make matters worse, there are LONG laod times, a lot of Pop-Up(I crashed because a wall popped up suddenly)

Obviously, they spent more time on the visuals and sound effects than on gameplay. If you still wanna try this game, play it before you buy it.

Faster than anything!

This game is more fun than anything! It's the best racing game I've played because if you're willing to practice you can go far. There's also a reverse challenge and I'm on the next to last level of that...it's been a blast getting that far. Choose the name of your racer wisely. Mindset is very important when you're forced to react as quickly as the higher levels require.

Only if you require a motorcycle game to surive !

I bought this game because I was drawn in by the great graphics. Which it does have. But I hate to say this game is so frustrating at times I almost broke my contoller ! Like I said the graphics are beautiful. The sound is great but you can't really hear the music to appreciate it. The gameplay however was created by the devil to start a war which will bring about the end time. One example is you'll be driving down the rode and all of a sudden your bike will explode into the sky and you will go flying off into the sunset. When you respawn 4 bikes have passed. You then take off only to smack into a wall and fly into the sunset again. Yes indeed this is hiliarious at times but when you trying to beat the game it isn't funny! SO stay far away unless you need something to get you angry enough to start a bloody rampage.

For those who complain this game is not extreme, or can be a bit boring after a while, well, then use the first person camera mode. In this format, the graphics and speed are so outstanding, one can actually get dizzy playing the game. Overall, a very professional and first-rate job!

Fast, fast, fast !

This game is blinding. If you like racing games, this one speeds along at the speed of light. There are new bikes and courses to unlock during the game, and the 2 player mode is just as fast as the single player. The fastest, best racer on the Dreamcast.

A Great Sim, But Takes A While Before You Can Enjoy It

I was looking for a great racing game and bought this one and Hydro Thunder at the same time. While I realize that some people LOVE this game's simulation, I found it boring within the first 20 minutes. Maybe it's because I was looking for a satisfying racing video GAME, not just a racing sim. I immediately preferred something more explosive and hi-tech like Hydro Thunder.

Good racing sim.

People complain about the handling in this game, probably because it tends to be more realistic. In order to do well (especially on the more difficult tracks), you have to know when you need to decelerate or brake. Same goes for the speed burst - do it too soon, and you'll power-wheelie yourself flat on your back. Once you get the hang of it, though, the game is addictive. There are a few sections when a well-timed Nitro burts sends you flying, and it's a rush to see the ground slipping away below you. Makes me want to see the McGrath supercross game even more. If you're having a hard time with this one, be patient. Slow down heading into big turns and accelerate as you round the bend - you'll be amazed how tightly you can corner. Take your time, this game is worth it.

Please do not buy this game!

This game wasn't even a little bit fun! I played it for maybee 15 minutes and was appauled. Another dissapointment for Dreamcast. Please rent this game first, before buying. The graphics lack detail and the backrounds are horrible. The control stinks, everytime you speed up your bike does a wheely and the response on turning is also lacking. When will we get a game, other than NFL2K or Soul Calibur, that will do the Dreamcast justice?
