I have never played this game, but it looks awsome

I haven't played this game yet, well thats because its not in America yet so who can blame me. Well it looks really good and in all the vedio game magizine i get(espically Game Pro)I look for the reviews on it to see more and more on it. I have played Final Fantay Tactics on Playstation and that game is one of my favorite games. Well, what i know about Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is that you can biuld your own map, if you do things against the law, you can get thrown in jail, and there are five job classes and five differnt races. Well I CAN'T WAIT TILL IT COMES OUT:)

Exact same game as Tactics Ogre

This game is practically an exact duplicate of Tactics Ogre:Knight of Lodis, which was made by Atlus(now a part of Square(the people making this game)). It utilizes the same game engine, thus the graphics are identical. You can get Tactics Ogre for ... CHEAPER so it's not really worth it to buy this replica, since they are the same game but with a different back story.

REAL TESTIMONY

Being a person who has played and BEATEN this game (in japanese of course), I can ASSURE you that this game is almost COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from Tactics Ogre (which i have also played). Sure, it may have the same isometric view, but the combat system is definitely original to its series. You should get this game. Tactics Ogre may be cheaper, but it's just not the same.

Strategy at it's best!

Embark on a quest through over a hundred missions in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Marche and his friends Mewt and Ritz come across an ancient magical tomb and when they open it, it transforms their small town of St. Ivalice into a medevil type kingdom of Ivalice a warring nation. You assume the role of leader of an army and you watch the action, not controling the actual fighting but commanding the army, much like a game of chess. The gameplay is very much like the original. Utilizing the same magnificent job sytem as the previous and the new law sytem which makes strategising even more difficult be ready for a complex gaming experience which actually takes skill to play. Although the plot isn't as engaging as the previous this game is just as good as the original. ALthough this game isn't for everyone I would generally reccomend this to the casual through hardcore RPG gamer. I gave this game five stars because:

-Great strategic gameplay

-Relatively good graphics

-Engaging story

-Extremely addictive

I hope you found my review helpful. Go and play this game!

Not the same as Knight of Lodis

I've played the Japanese version of this game, and it's pretty good. This is the same style of game as Lodis, but is different in several ways: the art is far better, the strategy elements a bit deeper, and the story somehow reminiscent of fantasy films from the 80s.

A fan of the Playstation version of FFT, I can't think of anything to knock it for (besides the story, but that's a matter of taste. I just wish it had a more mature plot, something FF's seem to universally lack).

I'm going to buy the English version of the game just so I can figure out what's going on with the law system, and because it offers excellent gameplay.

I have read many reviews but Never Played It.

I am writing this review to save you some time, I can suggest If you want to look at some reviews for yourself, you go to [website]or [website]. This is not the gameboy version but it is the same game.

This game LOOKS very good, I have read several reviews, cheked out some screenshots, and asked about earlier versions. This game appears to have a battle system that is very unique in most RPGs. Instead of using the normal old boring lists of attacks and everything, you can select a member of your band and order him to move, attack, summon ect. There is SUPPOSEDLY very many missions, items and jobs that your players can do, I was told of a multiplayer mode but have not seen apparent evidence. The battling itself looks as if it were a large part of the game, unlike most RPGs, The battles look like a lot of fun, not something you cringe at and try and avoid. This game is probably semi violent, maybe not OK for most six and under year olds. This game comes out September Eleventh(I want this to be politically correct so here and If you are an RPG maniac I suggest you reserve a copy, I have found a site where it is listed at [money amount]but you better be able to read japnenese. I have to stop now, My fingers are sore, my final words of this review, BUY IT NOW IF YOU ARE TIRED OF OLD RPGs.

been there; done that

this game is awesome. i have played through the japanese version of the game. there is so much to do. those who have played the original playstation version or this version would say that it is not a sequel. it is a good follow-up type game. saying that i mean that for what the gba can do it really is a good game. For those who keep track in japan this is Square-Enix's first game after the companies merged. not the first one in the states. the first in the states was final fantasy orgins but in japan it wasn't. anyway the game has a lot of the play mechanics from the orignal. then again a lot of things are new. although i don't want to give story away. i imagine a lot of people have seen some english screen shots. the game is like other games, is just a story while a story is being told. i recommend this game for those who enjoyed the original. if you haven't played the first game, i have a feeling that if you enjoyed this one, then it will make you try out the original.

Jolly Good Fun

People really tend to not expect much from GBA games. Square's first try at a Nintendo console game in a while is as good as any Xbox/PS2/Cube title. The story behind FFTA, while not as deep or heavy as in other Final Fantasy games, is easy to relate to. The battle engine is as good as FFT for the PSOne. The law system, essentially prohibiting certain actions to be taken while rewarding others, is interesting especially later in the game when you are given the tools to manipulate it. Furthermore this game has literally dozens of possible play hours. You get your money's worth, along with cute, colorful graphics, enjoyable gameplay and solid plotline. Great!

definetly worth the money.

I've played some other tactic games but nothing compares to this.
This game even has 300 hours of gameplay.
This game is just simply great.
Plus if you like advance wars you should like this game.

boring, waste of time

I don't get why everyone is going bonkers for this game. I played for a few hours and was bored out of my mind. You spend half of the time just sitting there watching the AI monsters move around. Couldn't they speed it up a little? Move here, click Fight, fight that guy, fight that guy, ok wait wait wait wait wait wait, ok fight fight...done. Lather, rinse, repeat. Wow, fun.

And can somebody explain to me why I get to CHOOSE where towns are put on the map? That's just weird and is not explained at all.

The graphics are pretty nice, but that's about all I can say. I don't care how 'deep' the character system is, this game is boring.
