Pretty awful

You know you're in trouble when other terrible video games are compared to you. Though only a little worse than Charlie's Angels (GameCube) and not as bad as Hidden Invasion (PlayStation2), Fighting Force is the difinitive bad adventure-fighting game second in the crap list only to Burning Fight. Even Brawl Bros and Peace Keepers are better than this, and that's saying a lot.
You get your pick from four forgettable crime fighters: pixie-pig-tailed Alana, gruff Hawk, leather-pants-wearing "Look at me, I'm Nabiki Tendo" Mace, and prison inmate Smasher. They're out to get a psychopath who believes the world should have ended at the beginning of 2000 A.D. and is now determined to make that happen. Maybe he should have waited through the other 23 times it turned New Years day across the world.
Many Sega Saturn owners didn't realize then how lucky they were that this game was cancelled on their system. Nintendo 64 owners were not so lucky, and I wasn't so lucky after getting the PlayStation version.
The controls are sloppy, the hit detection is horrible, especially the dash attacks, and the character animation is almost jerky enough to look like an old claymation cartoon.
If there is one redeeming factor, it is the music. Though not great, the musical scores in this game are a nice touch. The only reason you should buy this disc is to pop it into a CD-playing radio or computer and skip track one since that's just a data track ... meaning all you will hear, if anything, is an annoying buzz. Start on Track 2, sit back, and enjoy the only good thing about this game.

C'mon people, play nice. Screw nicities!

Alrighty, let me just start off by saying don't let people who play "Final Fantsay 7" sway your judgement about this. While "Final Fantsay 7" is an amazing game, it varies VERY HEAVILY from "Fighting Force", so what some people like (fun fighting games)and others love (RPG gamers) we are at war with the worlds. It's better to agree to disagree here. Okay, let us begin with the review. I love this game. From the very beginning where you can choose your favorite character (Mace Daniels is my personal favorite), to the last moment when you deliver a crushing blow to your enemy. It is ingenius. I love how you can pick up weapons like guns and bats and that you can deliver really "snazzy" throws/blocks. Like people have said, it is like a "Streets of Rage" for the now. Let me break it down overall for you:

Graphics- Compared to now, it is not up to bar. Compare it to when it frist came out, bar none! 5/5, although the animation can sometime slow down.
Sound- Ain't nothing more prettier than hearing your enemies bone crunch! 5/5
Control- Obviously this is the black-sheep of the family. The controls are clunky and choppy, and sometimes they interfere with the great gaming experience. Thank God for infinite health codes! 3/5 (ouch)
Overall- Aside from the controls being what they are, the game is a smooth ride of fun fighting and brainless beat-'em-up. I feel this game is totally undercredited, and that we need to change that. ONLY YOU CAN PREVENT FOREST FIRES!

Worst Game Ever!!!

...I borrowed this game from my friend and beat it in about an hour. How can a video game be good if you can beat it in a hour? Secondly the replay value is 0 and the loading time is long...If your looking for a good PS1 game go with Final Fantasy 7.

Good playstation game

I played this game with my friend 4 times. I got mad at him because he kept kicking me and he killed me twice. He said the second time I walked right into it. :P This is a funny game too. I mean the characters don't look that great up close(well, their faces look ugly.). I think the best weapon is a pipe or anything you can whack your enemy with. You can actually choose were you want to go. And if you're playing with two players, try not to kick each other. It's a lot more fun with 2 players. Oh yeah, and you can beat up cars. It's really fun. One more thing, if you do buy this game, and you pick something up and don't know what it is,(like a little, black thing that fits in your hand), it's probably a grenade. You can also drink cokes and eat sandwiches to restore your health. buh-bye I hope this review is a little helpful.

Fighting fun!

This game is very fun. I have only played a demo that my cousin has but I'm dying to pick up a copy. The demo is short and we like to come up with different themes to it like we're going to a party at the building at the end of the demo. This game is kind of funny. Some of the enemies are pure fools. I like to run around the van with them chasing. Then I turn around and and knock the crud out of them. I like the guns and sticks that you can pick up and when you run out of ammo you can throw your gun at the enemies. That's pretty funny too. The characters have awesome moves. I love fighting games and this is one of my favorites. If you like fighting games and games that are just plain fun, buy this game.

A Fun Game For Boys AND Girls

This is a great game for people who love street-fighting games. There's four characters to choose from- Alana,Mace,Hawk, and Smasher. (Smasher is probably the strongest of the four.) There's alot of fun levels, like smashing chairs and tables and even a car at the mall, or knocking people in the elevator. There is cartoon violence like: blood gushing out when you hit a bad guy. (But the blood disappears in the air when you hit someone. It DOESN'T spill on the ground or anything.) But I think it's really fun and kinda funny too. My friends love it, and we usually play it at my house when they come over. It's a great game for boys AND girls. I'm a girl, and I have a blast. I'm 12 years old, but I think the age level should probably be 9 years and up.

Streets of Rage....I mean Fighting Force!

This game is basically a 3D enhanced version of Streets of Rage. My only complaints about this game are the long loading times and the slow animation. Slowdown occurs periodically, and some bosses are insanely tough to beat (Try the naval base boss, he fires lightning at you when you're near him, no way to hit him! It took me a while to kill him off...). Also, the game ends too abruptly and the enemies can become cheaters, blocking all the time and then getting multiple free shots, sometimes enemies can even use guns! IF AT ALL, RENT THIS GAME BEFORE BUYING.

Don't waste your money

I borrowed this game from a friend because I thought it looked cool. He told me it was impossible to beat, but I thought I could give it a shot. What I thought after playing was, "Did he play the same game I just did?" I beat this game in about an hour and a half, and never died once. There were too many power-ups throughout the levels. That part I did not like. However, this could've been a great video game if it was longer and more challenging. Here's what I liked:

The characters were cool and had great moves once you got 'em down right. Also, the graphics were pretty good, and you could choose where to go at points...not just follow the same path. That added a little replay value. Also, you could use a lot of weapons and objects...and being able to break the soda machine to get power-ups was also a nice touch. Add cool music, and you got one awesome game...but wait, there were flaws.

First, I noticed a few glitches at times. Things would just disappear and enemies would pop onto the screen...I hate that. Second, there were only four characters, not enough to keep me interested. The fighting did get repetitive, especially on the lift when those ninjas just wouldn't leave you alone. I mean, if they would've killed me, fine, but they couldn't, and it just got boring. Finally, the end boss was way too easy...if you've ever played "Zelda" for N64, think of when you fight the first boss in the Deku tree after knowing how to kill it. Hit there, hit here, you got him beat.

Overall, I would give this game 7 out of 10 stars, but here, 3 out of 5. It's an average game that is worth a rental for sure. If you really like it, I think it's a good buy if you find it cheap...like on Amazon.com. However, this game had the ability to earn at least 4 stars, maybe 5 on my scale, but it couldn't. I've yet to play the sequel, but I hear it's supposed to be better.
