Do not buy. Piece of junk. The buttons are the only thing that is decent.

Feel great... but the triggers snap off in the heat of battle!

3 out of 5

First off, the metal armor is worthless. It's included as a ploy to make you spend 10 on two little plastic pieces, which are the real benefit.

I have medium sized hands, and the dualshock, while too small and cramped before feels just right with these puppies attached. I love racing games and these are a must... so much easier to throttle. not a big FPS nut, but felt great playing Resistance.

so why only 3 out of 5? Because the trigs totally snap off in the heat of battle. I'm not pressing to hard and this is happening constantly. Hopefully some double stick foam tape which should provide enough tension to keep this from happening. problem with that is then they wont be detachable, and the triggers are pretty big when playing non-3D games (super stardust HD, etc).
If they stayed on, I'd give them 4 stars because they make the controller feel so much better.

the reviews here... i'm surprised nobody else has the problem of these snapping off like me...

Worth it for some triggers?

I bought this because I heard the over the top praise the the PS3 triggers are getting from gamers. I bought this because it was the only one I found that ships in the US.

The triggers take some time to get use to, but they do feel better then the regular style of the L2/R2 buttons. The triggers however might come off in the middle of a intense gun battle. I accidently hit the triggers from the bottom of the controller and it went flying in the air. Normal use of the controller should not cause them to fly off though. Depends on how you play as a gamer.

The armor is just pointless. It makes the middle buttons difficult to press and doesn't go well.

I would like to see this product without the metal armor at a cheaper price. I pretty much paid $10 for 2 5 cent trigger peices. You may feel kind of dumb if you do the same. Just depends if you have that extra money you want to throw away for a controller upgrade.

Armour is pointless, trigger extenders are great

The "armour" is just a decent-looking piece of aluminum that halfway clips onto the PS3 controller. It isn't really even attached. I left it on for about 5 minutes, it makes the Select and Start buttons hard to press.

The trigger extenders are very nice, they seem to be just about the right size and make using the L2 and R2 triggers for games that use them extensively like GTA IV much easier on my fingers. They click onto the existing triggers pretty securely but can fall off if you drop the controller. They could be glued on if that becomes a problem.

So $10 for two little 5 cent pieces of plastic is pretty steep, but you know what, it's worth it. The triggers are the worst part of the PS3 controller.

Triggers = Awesome, Armor = Useless

I think anyone can guess by looking at pictures that the armor is useless. It only protects the least vulnerable part of the controller. It's like putting a border fence on the moon, makes no sense. It does provide a mildly interesting two tone color scheme.
The only reason anyone would buy this is the trigger extenders and they are pretty cool. Maybe not $10 cool but it depends on how into your PS3 you are. They take a few minutes to get used to but so did the regular triggers. Once you get used to them I they feel better than the regular triggers. I feel ambivalent about this purchase. The triggers are cool but I would have rather paid half the price and not gotten the armor.

Improvement but not perfect..

This is an attempt to fix what Sony screwed up and had a chance to fix with the Dualshock 3 but chose not to. The trigger extensions work pretty well..they keep your fingers from slipping off but still don't supply the same kind of "feel" you get with the nearly perfect 360 controller triggers. The "armor" thing is pretty useless and tacky looking...I don't use that at all.

Not worth the money

Firstly, the armor is a waste of time and i have actually thrown it away. It hinders access to the select and start buttons.

Basically, you are paying $10 for a single piece of plastic on the right R2 trigger. (the one on the left isn't even necessary).

If u don't mind the price though, the trigger is a big help in first person shooters.

i keep hoping someone will put out a better controller as i am keen on another but i don't like the present controller

Great add-on

The triggers fit nicely on a DS3 or Sixaxis and are very wide and fit my fingers well. They are easy to click on to install and won't fall off. The number 2 is on them just like the original triggers. I tried them on my white Japanese DS3 and stock black Sixaxis.

The material looks exactly like the controller's plastic. It's too bad the backs of them are bare, but you won't be pressing those parts anyway.

They work great on Warhawk where you use L2/R2 a lot for the vehicles. They would probably be excellent on FPSs and third person shooters too.

The silver armor looks cool, but is pointless. It doesn't fit right and makes the Start, Select and PS buttons hard to press. You'd have to peel off the cushioning underneath, but then it might scratch your expensive controller. Odd thing is the manual shows the armor fitting perfectly. There is also armor for the whole PS3, but I wouldn't touch it considering how the controller armor fits!

Worth it if you really dislike the stock DS3 triggers and your fingers slide off of them all the time. I would have preferred getting the triggers alone for like $3 or less.

Grips are amazing... "armor", not so much.

Don't be fooled, the "armor" that comes with the grips are just a side piece, the real product here are the trigger grips. If you've ever had your trigger slip off the Dualshock 3's crappy R2/L2 buttons or wanted a better feel in FPS games, this product is a MUST! It could be cheaper.. but the crappy armor they bundle with this product probably jacks up the price slightly. I'd highly recommend it for people who dislike the Dualshock's current trigger setup.

It would get a 5 but the "armor" that comes with it is just useless and flimsy. It doesn't even fit the controller right. Throw it away immediately.

Good addon

The triggers make the controller tons better, they should have just designed it like this to begin with.

As said by the others the armor is totally worthless.
