A game worth buying, but

Pros:
-fun
-a lot of leveling up possibility
-a lot of spells

Cons:
-very short no matter how much sidetracking you do (I did as much as possible)
-the prizes for collecting cards are crappy

Conclusion: definitely worth playing.

Pretty good (but I liked the first two better)

I'm unusual in that I'd played Chamber of Secrets on the GBC and Goblet of Fire on the DS before I played this game--and it really shows the transition between the two drastically different games!

Good: Great graphics for a GBA game. There's more puzzles to work out, rather than the first two where you just sort of wandered around shuffling items back and forth. The mini games are pretty cool.

Bad: Too much battling and not enough exploring--it gets kind of boring. Then again, if you found the first two boring, you may like this one better. The script is rather cheesy too--it has less story than the first two, and digresses further from the original story. It's more a series of battle sequences held together by little snippets of dialog. It's not nearly as bad in that sense as the fourth game, though.

Overall, it's definitely worth playing. But I do still like the first two better.

Best and only Harry Potter video game I've played yet

I have a GameBoy and I'm a GameBoy/ Harry Potter fan. It was a fun game with all the cool spells and creatures you fight. And collector's cards too. But if you're doing a MANDATORY magical encounter (like the Whomping Willow and the river troll), it's hard. And we don't see much Ron (but then he was dragged into the willow and didn't get to fight with Harry and Hermione after that) And it didn't stick to book as much as the movie. They took out the entire first 3 chapters of the book. They also didn't mention the Marauder's Map, Divination classes (but there was a mini-game),why he got a Firebolt (they don't say what happened to his Nimbus)or Hogsmeade visits. But don't think it's a bad game. Like I said, collecting Chocolate Frog cards were fun. And the Mini-games (especially Wizard Cracker Pop-it). I wonder if Goblet of Fire or Order of Phoenix will be as good.

PS: Eventhough they still don't explain what happened to Harry's Nimbus 2000 (like in the movie and book), it least he got it as a Christmas present unlike the movie where he gets it at the very end.

Good but hard!

This is one of the hardest games I have ever played! Even for a Harry Potter game (which are usually fairly easy). The dementors don't do much though. What I really hate is that Harry has to go into the basement to get rat tonic for Ron's rat. Why can't Ron just get it himself? The game is really cool, though I wish you could hit Snape with that expelliarmus spell like Harry did in the movie.

It's Okay.

After playing the first two Harry Potter Gameboy Advance games, this one was a bit of a disappointment. I don't like the staged fighting where you encounter the enemy and have to fight back and forth- they get a shot, you get a shot, they get a shot, you get a shot, until the hit points causes the other to be defeated. That's pretty much this entire game and it gets pretty annoying, especially once Ron and Hermione join in. Harry gives a hit, then Ron, then Hermione, then the first monster hits, second one, third one, and so on. Very repetitive. In my honest opinion the first two were a lot better and followed the story better.

I will say that the graphics were excellent on this game and overall it was moderately fun. I'm a huge Harry Potter fan so I can't dislike it too much! :)

Its great! Execpt for its hardness. I had to beat Crabbe and Goyle it was hard. It took 5 times for me to beat them. We finished the game after 2 months. The giant rat was hard too. The Buckbeak rescue and Sirius and Dementor reuscue was hard too.The best part is the MINI-GAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!They were fun expecially the pop one. The time when Harry and Ron find the Hippogriff book its south of the Library then turn right.I also liked Fred and George's Shop. Also when you find Mcgonagall Its hard.Snape's wasn't easy either you had to get a series of ingredients. And beat a river troll in the finding. It was HARD!!!!!!I had to beat it 10 times. It got very fustrating. Also the finding of Ron and the Shrieking Shack Was Hard! You had to beat a Forest troll on the way back from under the Whomping Willow. The Willow tree fight was hard too. Then the HARDEST of all was the encounter withe Lupin (in werewolf Shape). You had Buckbeak, Harry, Hermione. You NEED to GET FOLIO UNIVERSTITI cards FROM FRED AND GEORGE's SHOP!!!!!!!!Or you won't beat that werewolf. This GAME is GREAT!!!!!!I reccommend it.Last thing the minigames are (After you finish that level): Riding Buckbeak(at Hagrid's), Pop Wizard Crackers(Dumbledore's Wizard Crackers for Christmas), Boggart Spell(Lupin's Lesson), Patronus Spell(Harry's Lesson with Lupin). You need to fight The Monster Book of Monsters 4 times. One in the beginning ,two in the place where Malfoy hid Some books and 1 in Madam Pince's Library.Beware Skeletons come out of nowhere in the place that leads to the Shrieking Shack.Ther very tricky(Always say Lumos).
Before you rescue Ron you have to go into a place where the Waterfalls are. There is a switch hidden just find and press'a' or if that doesnot work try the up button then it will frezze Something then you keep trying to find switches until all of the small waterfall steps are frozen.I love this GAME!!!!!1!!!1!

I think this game is the most awesome video game I own. And trust me, I own a lot! I think this game is fun because once you think you are done, you're not. I like the fact that you can never say "Hey! I'm done!" That's what makes a game 5 star quality to me. Besides, I've had this game for 1+ year, and I'm still not done with it! (Granted I don't play it every day.) Overall this is a very nice and well-written game.
The first thing you do is go to the Leaky Cauldron and meet Ron and his parents. I like when you go to Hogwarts and then you can explore all seven floors of Hogwarts!

Better than the last

Okay I have to admit that it was better than the last one (Don't buy it. Chamber of Secrets is BORING and easy to beat once you get past Gringotts). I just want to say that they shouldn't make you try to beat Malfoy at lvl. 50 when on your first try you would most likely be at NO MORE THAN lvl. 45. Plus why would Malfoy be out when it is dark (oooh. 50 points from Slytherin).

I liked playing with Harry Ron and Hermione because I always get annoyed just playing with the same person. Ron's spell, Spongify, I thought really had no point to it though, because when you used it on an enemy then just did what happens to the platform, and you never need to use it again after the Hagrid scene. And why would Hagrid lend the books to the Malfoy trio? Shouldn't he just say 5 points from Slytherin, try to follow along (well I suppose Hagrid would never do that but so what!)?

Another thing that was a little annoying is trying to keep the characters at the same lvl. If any of you are like me and don't like having 1 character at a higher lvl than the others because if that character dies than you will never beat the obstacle, you will know what I mean.

The last complaint I have is that why did Buckbeak have to fight Lupin (as werewolf)? You had to keep Buckbeak alive AND yourself. Also, I didn't get why they wouldn't let Harry and Hermione really do any damage to him. Why didn't they stick to the storyline?

But, I still thought it was fun and I thought it deserved 4 stars. Buy this game instead of the last two because you will enjoy it more.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban-Best GBA game ever...

I bought this game the day I went to see the film and have never looked back. Having been a fan of the previous games and having just completed Chamber Of Secrets, I was looking for a next fix, and I found it. A Harry Potter RPG that is faithful to the book, to movie and the fans. Controlling the trio is great fun, and it is so rewarding watching you characters smash the competition with flipendo. Overall, a great game that should belong in anyones game collection.

really good game

I think this is one of the best GBA games I have ever played. It has fairly good graphics.
It does have one flaw. The monsters are way too weak. You retain your former level when you win. Overall I think it was a fun game.
