What am I missing?

I was really excited to get this game after all of the reviews sounded so positive, plus I'm a huge fan of the sims and animal crossing which it's been compared to.

I don't know if I'm missing something, but it's just not fun at all. Really repetitive, and I know people have said that it's better than animal crossing because Animal crossing was so repetitive, but at least there was strategy and a storyline. This is more like.. plant stuff, get your pinatas to hook up, build a house, plant stuff, get your pinatas to hook up, build a house.

I really want to like it, and I really hope I'm missing something and it's going to miraculously get better as I go along but I don't know how much more I can take.

This is a FUN game.

At first the game is exciting, you find yourself having fun building pinata house and watching them change colors. Then planting seeds and waiting to watch what they grow into is very interesting. But you find yourself doing the same things over and over. Plant a seed, wait for it to grow, romance a pinata wait for it to hatch and change colors. Then as you progresses and you become a higher gardener then Sour pinata (the bad guys) will come to your garden and start knocking down trees, house and they will kill your pinatas; you spent so much time romancing, then you find yourself having to do everything all over again and again and again trying to put everything back the way is was before the sour pinata destroyed it. I see why some find this game a bit boring having to do things over and over, but it is also a bit Addictive you find yourself wanting to try and get the garden just prefect and beat those sour pinatas.

If you like an easy game were you have to out wit a pinata you'll enjoy this game, but if your into fast running, shooting games you'll find this game very boring. I enjoy it like a good puzzle on a rainy day; trying to put everything in the right place, when your stuck inside with nothing else to do.

Though it may seem like a kiddy game, everyone with an Xbox 360 should try this game. Its pretty fun; however, it sucks that they give you a limited garden at the beginning of the game. Overall, the game is fun and looks great, but does get repetitive after awhile, much like any game for that matter.

this is the funest game in the world

This game defines what it means to be an 'addictive game' with lots of tasks to do that start off easy and slowly build up. The tasks in the game are varied from planting flowers to growing huge trees, from keeping track of tiny worms to finding space for a stable of horses or huge grizzly bears. There are lots of little elements that make it challenging like how to keep out some of the 'bad' guys from your garden, how to turn the 'bad' guys into 'good' pinata, and how to make some of the strange combinations like Jack-o-Lanterns or carrot cake.
I actually play it with my girlfriend because she's addicted to playing it as well.
The game is a lot better than I had expected so it's been a great gift.

Don't let the cover scare you away. This game is amazingly addictive and fun. I recommend it for age 10+ as it may be to complex for anyone younger. It has a learning curve of about 20 mins. Once you understand how it works and how to progress you will play for hours on end. It is Animal crossing meets sim city with pinatas. You start off with this garden that has been abandoned and you can do with it whatever you like. The idea is to expand it and make it a living habitat that welcomes all kinds of pinatas. As an example a Pinata will come to explore your garden and it will have needs to be able to live there. What your job is to change or add things to better suite the pinata and then it will decide to live in your garden. Soon enough another one of those pinata will come along to expand the family of those pinatas. I highly urge any and all to at least try this game.

This is a great game for first time users, who get put off by war games. It's easy to get the hang of. Non threatening and very involving. You manage your garden, plant trees and flowers, and attract pinatas to live there. I've really enjoyed naming my pinatas but then it's a bit upsetting when other pinatas eat them. Bad pinatas come into your garden and you have to bash the bad sweets that they leave before your good pinatas eat them and get ill. It's a bit annoying when you're trying to romance pinatas, like ducks that keep flying off. You have to keep your pinatas happy by buying them sweets or accessories. The graphics effects are well considered and the weather effects are very convincing. I love the style.

Very good game!

If you're into "SIM" type games, you'll probably love Viva Pinata. It's creative, innovative and a lot of fun. Granted this might not be for everyone, however if you are interested in the general genre, I'd highly recommend this title. Pick it up!
