This is the first WWII first person shooter i have evere played, and all i can say is what a dissapointment! It is just like every other fps except instead of shooting monsters you are shooting nazis. i thought these types of games were supposed to be a little more realistic. it's not. same lame formula. for example, the head nazi that you are supposed to confront at the end of every level is much harder to kill than the rest of them. three rocket propelled grenaid dirrect hits to kill one person? thats the same as a tank. how very lame. there is also very little strategy in the game. go here shoot these guys, go there blow up that. it does allow some leaway in the order that you complete missions, which is nice. and the game does supply you with your very own squad of three men whom you can order around. they can be very handy as cannon foder, and sometimes you can even get them to whatch your back. other than that they are fairly useless, largely because the AI in this game is nonexistent. The game play is a bit dubious. sometimes an enemy will be running around like a chicken with it's head cut off, pointing his gun no where near you and he'll shoot you dead. I only made it to the second to last level, and don't think i will bother finishing it. just more of the same.

Now I am a reasonable man, and I like the MOH series as much as the next guy, but when I peeked at the reviews: `Mediocre', Not as good' and `I haven't had a girlfriend' I was a bit bemused to say the least.

After an hour or so traipsing through the missions I have to admit MOH:EA isn't very good, it has evolved, not for the good of the game or series but to keep up with Call of Duty, a game which I think is decidedly middle of the road.

The bad points outway the good points in what could have been a classic game.

Good Points:

Some graphics are top notch
Authentic WW2 weaponry & machinery
Involved in real battles of the era
Great storyline

Bad Points:

Some graphics are blocky ie Panzer tank and Thompson machine gun
No hakenkreuz (Imperial German markings though), taking away the authenticity of the game
All the Brits sound like Brian Blessed
Gameplay is slow and sluggish
Some missions are way too short
Too much time to load/pause the game

I could go on, but it would take the shine off the franchise.

Personally I still prefer MOH:AA & MOH:RS and the p.c. versions have still got good playability even with the add ons, where sadly this one lacks depth.

I was expecting comments from Boys Own/Commando comics such as `Hande Hoch!', `For you ze var ist over' and `Take that Fritz' and maybe a guest appearance by German International Recording Artist 1980-2005 David Hasselhoff just to round off the lack of inspiration EA might have had with this release.

C'mon EA, get your act together as I hope the new James Bond isn't like this.

MOH: EA is a lot like Terminator 3, very well hyped, no doubt it will be bought in bucketloads, but it fails to deliver when it needs it most and it will leave a few with a bad taste in their mouth, look out for my copy on ebay in the next few weeks.

not the best.........but OK

overall, the game is pretty good. The game is strategically and physically challenging, if you take a wrong path, you may end up losing a life or two, just to find out that the path you took is a dead end!!! I'm stuck on the last level of North Africa and i found out that the path i was taking is a dead end, it drives me CCCCCCCRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAZZZZZZZYYYY!
So i just go back to St. Nazaire and beat all of those levels.
So,it's nut the best....... but OK.

Excellent Medal Of Honor entry....

What is the biggest improvement over the other 2 Gamecube MOH games? You can now look down your gun sights (ala Call Of Duty). No more "side shooting" enemies. The graphica are top notch and the enemy AI is very good. Sounds are as excellent as well. The German soldiers love to yell out "Americana!" or "Grenada!" and the weapons sound deadly. I would rate this just below Call Of Duty Big Red One as a MUST OWN for shooter fans.

One of the best gamecube games..25yo

Ive been searching for a good gamecube game now for quite a while. I realy enjoyed Medal of Honor Frontline but found Medal of Honor the Rising Sun to be very disapointing. I couldnt get into Call of Duty and was at the stores ready to buy myself an xbox when i sore this game on sale. And this game is fantastic, The game controls are much easier to master, the graphics are better, the maps are more fun, but like other reveiws say, I do find some missons quite short. I also like the fact that you can store your medical kits and use them at a later stage.

very good but could have been longer

Frontline and Rising Sun were great games, and European Assault is right up there with them. The graphics are great and the gameplay is very satisfying. It's good to be fighting against the Nazi's again. This game gives you an in depth look at what the war in Europe was really like. EA has a gift to present realism to the gamer. I highly recommend this game. If your a war buff or just an average gamer, you're sure to love this in depth look into World War Two.

This is one of best of them right with rising sun and Frontline. I like it how it is that you can pick up guns I like the graphics. My favorite level is when you are in the Desert and you have a Scoped Enfield. The Multtiplayer is fun that you have a weapon cash and you can chose your gun. The sounds are good and I like the sound of the M1,Thompson,MP40,and the Kar98. I think this is a very good game. I highly recommend this game buy it now!!!!!!!
