This game is the BOMB

Metroid prime echoes is an awsome game. One of the best games i have seen on the gamecube. There is no certain character who is god it is all one person(ZAMUS). THat means that this game is based on skill. That is why it is so fun. So much to do in multiplayer also adds props to the game!

Are you the Hunter or the Hunted?...

Metroid Prime 2 is the sequal to one of the best games I've ever played on the gamecube, It was criticly acclaimed as a "masterpiece" "amazing" and "Spectacular"...the reviews wern't wrong...Even Gamespot gave the original an extreamly good score seeing how it's really hard to get a perfect score on that site(it got a 9.7)...Metroid Prime braught fluid and yet very brilliant puzzles, extreamly amazing non linear fast paced action and some really amazing bosses...How does Metroid Prime 2 stack up?..was it worth the wait?...was it worth the hype....Well....YES!!!!!

Metroid Prime 2 is just as good IF NOT better then the Original Prime', it's longer, better, the visuals have bin abit tweaked, new visors, new puzzles to solve and so on. The game is just what the gamecube gamers were waiting for. The game is in no way Dissapointing. It's much more challenging the the original prime'. The challenge isn't hard or insainly hard but it will take a few times to get use too. Something that was really great is the new "Dark world, Light World" story which made me fall in love with this masterpiece. The game will get REALLY CONFUSING once you start going into alot of light world, dark world, areas and solving the puzzles arn't easy, did I mention some of the boss battles we put you in some frustraiting. Like the oh so famous "boss with no save station near it" part..which has been complained by alot of gamers, yes it's not fair but you'll get use to it......

Retro has also added something to the challenge...CONSERVING YOUR AMMO..Yes now Samus can run of ammo for both "Light world, Dark world" weapons but the combos you earn and new moves you get are oh so wonderul...Great job retro. The enemies are much more rough then PrimeS enemies like the DARK WORLD SPACE PIRATE, yes they are even harder then the original pirates...Other then Conserving ammo, new gameplay elements and visors, this is one of the best looking gamecube games available, it's just so fluid and pretty to look at..

Metroid Prime 2 is also a fairly long game, for a game like that I give credit for Retro. The game takes about 25 to 30 hours of gameplay IF you want to get 100% on it(my time was about 20 hours and 23 minutes). Sadly there was one thing that I was slightly dissapointed with..the boss battles. Metroid Prime had some amazing and very memerable boss battles and they were all place at great moments. Sadly Prime 2's bosses just felt uneven, seriously they did. The only true boss battle that was great was the giant Dark world boss that you fight at the end of the game, I won't spoil it for you...
lets get to it..

The good
-Great Visuals
-Controls are great
-Lots of places to explore
-another great addition to the metroid Series
-just as good as the original
-Story is superb, loved it
-The music in the game is amazing, very memerable
-Long game, should take about 25 hour or longer depending on how good you are
-The new weapons and visors are awesome!!
-Breathtaking cutscenes
The bad
-Multiplayer?...ok, I could care less for that..
-Some people will be turned off by the game seeing how its like Completley different compared to prime 1, mainly because alot of people didn't like the story for prime 2..
-Some people will not like the fact that most areas are small and seem claustaphobic

Overall Metroid Prime 2 on the Nintendo GCN is a fantastic follow up and stays true to the original, I can't say not more then the fact that is just plain..BETTER then Prime 1, I give it a fantabulous

5 out of 5 stars..

Probulay the best first-person shooter of all time! This time Samaus is assiend to a new mission, and she must go the a planet called Ather and defeat the Space Piarets army, at the same time she must bring peace to the plantet by destroying the dark world controlled by an evil god. Such a compelling story and plot, that this makes it the best Metroid game yet! The dark world is spine tingling as if you've walked through deaths door, that overcomes the deageh'veh of the first. Winner of 10 Nintendo Power Awards including Best Overall game. Followed by Metroid: Return of Samuas.

Retro Does it Again

When I first got my original Metroid Prime off eBay, I beat it and then wanted more. Metroid Prime 2 came out and I had to get it. The results were amazing.

First off, the storyline was spectacular. Retro studios did a wonderful job with it. You are sent to help out federation troops on a planet named Aether. What looks like a normal "I have to go help these police who can't protect themselves" mission, turns out to have a much greater challenge. The planet was torn between time and space and now has an "evil twin". You now need to transport energy from the other dimension called "Dark Aether" back to the light world. But the boss from the games predecessor has also returned...in your form!

Second, the graphics are truly astounding! I think that the graphics have improved since MP1. The landscape in the Torvus Bog area is very realistic. Plus the nifty graphics of Samus' enemies are unique. From gentle sandbats to fearsome grenchlers, this game's graphics forgo Halo 2's. In fact, Halo 2 is no match for Echoes's graphics.
Note: If your kids are scared easily DO NOT buy this game for them. The graphics can be very frightening.

Next, this is not an FPS. This is a rare first person adventure. Instead of shooting everything that is living, Echoes is a much more strategic game. From scanning things for information, to solving puzzles, this game makes the player use his/her brain power as well as gaming abilities. The game is also extremely challenging. Unlike MP1, Echoes jumps into the game without telling you how to play. I would not recommend this game to anyone who is impatient or hasn't played the original which has the same controls.

The sound effects of the Prime series astound me once again. With shrieks, roars, explosions, and overall cool noises, Echoes gives you all the effects you could ask for. Many people say that the sound track for Echoes is lacking the effectiveness of the first. I think the music of Echoes gives the player the same tense feeling as the original did. You know that space pirates or a boss is coming when the creepy music starts to play. Strangely enough, I didn't play the game for a few months because it was kind of scary. You can turn the music off at the options menu.

Finally, the multiplayer mode is one of my favorites. My friends hate it because I beat them all the time at it. The deathmatch mode could be better but the bounty mode gives you a long and satisfying battle.

Overall I think that Retro Studios have outdone themselves. They have successfully produced a sequel that has really proven itself better than its predecessor. So go get this game, you won't be sorry.

First of all, the statement, "You can't compare Metroid 2 to Killzone or Halo 2 because these games are on systems with better graphics than gamecube", is totally inaccurate. The Gamecube is a much more tecnogicaly advanced piece of hardware than the PS2, and its graphics capability is near that of the XBOX. Also, you're right, you can't compare Killzone and Halo, to Metroid PRIME 2, since Metroid is obviously superior in many ways. Video games aren't supposed to be "sensible", and how do you make the connection between Kingdom Hearts and Metroid!? Finally, What the heck does this mean:"The Graphics in Metroid 2 are very good but look too clean, the ground looks clean enough to eat off." ?
