What an AWESOME game!

This was our first gamecube game and there could not have been a better beginning game! It is so much fun! The characters are very well made and the coloring and sound are exactly like the cartoon. It's like being a part of the show.

stuck in dungeon

I like the game, but I am stuck in the dungeon close to the lab. Shaggy was stuck in a cage with four different monsters ( headless specter, heep from the deep, flying ghost, a zombie). Grandson Andrew - six years old.

Dark and dreary

I confess I didn't get very far on this game before I quit and put it up for sale, but I intensely dislike games where you have to go back to an area and finish it after you've acquired additional skills somewhere else. And the camera angles are really bad. It's difficult to position Scooby for jumps and you can't see some areas you think you need to. I went to the mansion, the playground, the fishing village, the vault, and some area that might have been a cemetery and apparently the sun never comes out in Scoobyland because each level was dark and dreary. After I earned a warp power, it turned out there was no place I could warp to. Very frustrating. And you don't have much directional control of Scooby when he's supposed to be swinging on something.

This is, by far, one of the best gamecube games ever. Great for all ages. Additive, yet challenging. BUY IT TODAY

Addictive game fun

I bought the GameCube for my 4 year old son for christmas. He is very well adept to computer games and internet so I thought this would be a change of pace.
This game is great. I even get in on it. Some of the moves Scooby has to make are difficult and he needs some help, but all in all, he loves it.
There are many levels to this game and I HIGHLY recommend getting a memory card to save the game. You save it in parts and we have been playing now for 3 weeks or so and are only 50% thru the game, and beleive me, we play it alot.
The object is to get thru the playground, Hedge maze and Fishing village and the mansion to find all of your friends who got 'lost' while finding inventions to help you thru your journey. We got stuck a few times, but found out way.
I recommend this game for everyone. Lots of fun.

Excellent (exp. for a non-gamer)

My husband bought me a Gamecube for Christmas along with this game. We played it for MONTHS before we finished it (but we also were obsessed with finding every last object). I am not a big video game enthusiast. If something is too difficult, I'm more prone to just put the darn thing aside and go one to other things in life. But this game (usually) wasn't too difficult. Some areas drove me a little batty, but my husband got us through those, and overall the game is challenging enough without being too crazy. If you are big into video game challenges, you probably won't like this game. The only REAL issue I had is you can't just save it whenever. Used to be you could save games when you need to (i.e., when your kid wakes up from her nap). But not this one. You have to sometimes get through 3 pretty detailed areas before you get a chance to save. So, we couldn't just play it for a few minutes. Oh, and I guess the OTHER real issue I had was in difficult areas, you'd die and have to go all the way back to teh beginning of the area. It made me want to just give up sometimes, it was so tedious. But overall I really liked this game and would recommend it to the right person.

Great game for families, especially Dad!!

As you can see I wait until games have been out a while then buy them used on Amazon of eBay (got mine for $12 on eBay).

If you like games that require that you explore a lot and collect things this is a great one. Like most other games you have to do some fighting but the story is not based on that.

The game has a fun story and many, many fun and interesting places to explore. The only character you play is Scooby Doo. As usual, there is a mystery to solve. But there really aren't any puzzles to solve in this one like other adventure games. With Night of 100 Frights you mainly show skill of collecting Scooby snacks and monster tokens. Although, you can leave no stone unturned as you explore since some places are hidden.

As I have seen in other posts there are some areas that are a little frustrating, but the time vested it well worth it. Scooby Doo has an unlimited numbers of lives. If you get stuck, there are free walk throughs on the internet to help you.

My only problem with the ggame was the sound. The background noises and special affects were fine, but the voices were to low to hear. And you meet some interesting people like Don Knotts so you definitely want to hear what is going on. Luckily most of the talking is accompanied by subtitles.

This is a great game for families! Find it used and cheap on Amazon or eBay and you will have a winner here.

My Kids love it.

My 5 and 7 year olds love this game. My 5 year old has almost mastered it.

EXCELLENT

THIS GAME IS SURPRISINGLY GOOD. THE GRAPHICS GET BETTER AS THE GAME GOES ON. LOTS OF LEVELS AND VERY CHALLENGING.

DOWNFAALS ARE MINOR, HE HAS TO GO BACK TO LEVELS WHEN HE AQUIRES NEW POWERUPS, AND SOMETHINGS THAT HE HAS TO JUMP FOR ARE TO HIGH FOR HIM TO REACH.

BUT OTHER THAN THAT I GIVE IT 5 STARS

Sorely Disappointing

This game is, in my opinion, terrible. I found it vaguely amusing for the first...five minutes, but after that it was all downhill. The graphics are decent and the controls are easy to learn, but the game just feels like a task. Jump onto this platform, get the scooby snack there, jump on this monster here and Zoiks! What a monotonous nightmare. The levels are in a linear format that is often frustrating and makes some camera angles awkward. Collecting "scooby snacks" gets annoying, and you see the same monsters over and over again. The voiceovers are great, but what good is a voiceover if the game is weak?

People who might like this game:
~Kids just learning how play play video games
~Diehard scooby fans

People who might not like this game:
~Everybody else.
