Astonishing, yes. Always fun, no. This game can be serious fun when you have your trusty blue crystal lightsaber gripped in your hand, but when your in first-person shooting, BORING! Well this could e because I dont like first-person in any game, I like third-person. But you can choose in this game, if you feel like cutting a storm trooper's head off, whip out your saber, when you feel like blowing them away with laser blasts, get your blaster out. The lightsaber combat in this game is mind-blowing, its fast, smooth, fun, and the lightsaber effects are amazing. If you have always just wanted to have a game when you can walk around with a lightsaber, GET THIS GAME! I HIGHLY RECCOMEND IT!

Best Star Wars on Gamecube by FAR

To start things off, I just want to say that this game rules. I have all of the Star Wars games for gamecube, with the exeption of Bounty Hunter. I first rented this game and was highly disappointed because it was so easy to get lost on the levels. But thankfully I rented it again, because after the first level, it's sweet! I don't know what causes me to like the game so much. The game is so fun and the levels are challenging (especially the lightsaber battles). My favorite part of this game is the lightsaber-locks on Bespin, vaporzing someone unsuspecting person hundreds of feet away on Nar Shaddaa, using Force Lightning on a group of 5 stormtroopers and electrocuting them on Yavin temple, letting loose with the Heavy Repeater on multiplayer, and finally equiping yourself with Force Grip and choking an undsuspecting Shadow Trooper in the Yavin Swamps. The multiplayer rules, especially when you have beaten the game and ulocked all of the multiplayer characters. This is and epic game with great graphics, and I recommend it to all.

One of the finest Star Wars games on the Gamecube

Star Wars: Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast. The third game in the Star Wars Dark Forces series.

INTRODUCTION:
I've pretty much always been a fan of Star Wars, and as you may have guessed, I'm a fan of many of the games based on the series. Although Star Wars games are often hit and miss, when one succeeds, it usually succeeds beautifully. One of the most interesting ideas for a Star Wars game was Dark Forces, released for the Playstation One and the PC. Although the game itself was horrendous, with a terribly-choppy framerate and very poor level design, it was something the world had never seen before - a Star Wars first-person shooter. The sequel, Jedi Knight, cleaned up a lot of the problems, and added in some new innovations. And now the third game in the series, Jedi Outcast, has arrived. Like previous games in this sub-series, it has gotten a multi-console release. Read on to see how it fares!

OVERVIEW:
Jedi Outcast is a Star Wars first-person shooter. The game has a one-player quest, as well as several different multiplayer modes.

REVIEW:
To put it simply, this game is everything the original Dark Forces should have been. While not perfect, this game is a huge improvement over its predecessors. Once again you play the role of Kyle Katarn, the agent from the other Dark Forces titles. The second Death Star has been destroyed, but many Imperial forces still fight on, so it's up to you to infiltrate their hideouts and exterminate them. The graphics are, for the most part, solid. I was impressed at how good they are for this kind of game. Nothing state-of-the-art, but they're still pretty damn good. Control has also been given an overhaul and rightfully so, since this game lets you use force powers and wield a lightsaber. The single-player mode is extremely entertaining, and the fact that the game offers multiplayer options only adds to the overall value of the package. And you can save whenever you want to in the single-player mode! But, of course, the game isn't perfect. Like earlier Dark Forces games, the level design just is not that good. Too many areas look alike, and there are too many instant death spots that are just too easy to fall into. Likewise, in many cases your objectives are unclear, and some of the puzzles are a pain - I don't know about you, but I buy first-person shooters to shoot people, not solve puzzles! Because of the imbalanced puzzles and often poor level design, it took me over an hour just to beat the first level! Another huge problem is availability. Lack of custom control configuration also plagues the game. This is a huge problem, since the game's limited control selections will often clash with what you're used to for this sort of game. This game wasn't released on the Gamecube in very high quanitites, so you're gonna have to shell out the full new price just to get a USED copy - and in my mind, it's NOT worth that price. Sad but true. I do recommend this game to Star Wars fans, just be warned that it's not perfect, and it's hard to get a copy.

EDITION NOTES:
This is a good game, but for some strange reason it just wasn't available on the Gamecube for very long. Because of this, even USED copies fetch close to the original new retail price. This is extremely annoying for people like me who want to get every Star Wars game. Still, you should hunt it down if you're into this sort of thing.

OVERALL:
Overall this is the best game in the Dark Forces sub-series thusfar. Where the game succeeds, it succeeds beautifully. I am impressed with the game, it's just a shame the Gamecube version was not made readily available to all would-be players. I strongly recommend this game if you can get a hold of it - I doubt it will disappoint any Star Wars fan.

Perfect game for Star Wars Lovers!

SinglePlayer
This game had very good graphics and the sounds are very realistic. It's a GREAT game. I especially like the last level. VERY challenging! Get this game. You won't be dissapointed. It's available for PC, Gamecube, Xbox, and Macintosh. The plot is very inticate. Kyle Katarn and Jan Ors are assigned a mission to investigate an abandoned Imperial outpost;...but it's not as abandoned as they expect...

Multiplayer
If possible, even awesomer than SinglePlayer. You get to choose which character you want to be instead of always being Kyle Katarn, You can chat with people, and do duels. You can also do a multiplayer game with AI bots.

Note:
I am a girl . I am addicted to Outcast. See how good this game must be?!

If you liked Dark Forces 1 & 2 plus Mysteries of The Sith, then you will absolutly love this game. It is the follow up to what happens after Kyle defeats Jerec in Dark Forces 2. After defeating Jerec, Kyle fears being turned to the dark side and gives up his lightsaber to Luke, but what kinda story would that be?? Control Kyle once again and battle through worlds old and new with familiar wepons and all new ones and of course the lightsaber plus not to metion the Jedi powers. All in all this game will turn out to be one of the best for gamecube. I recommend that you buy it.

This game is extremely addicting and fun. Not only can you be a guy with a goatee, laser-gun and a light-saber but you can also use force powers like push, mind-trick, lightning and best of all, CHOKE!!! The game brings you along a bunch of worlds like Kashyyk and Bespin and a variety of terrain like swamps and mountain outposts. You also get to meet many species like the Rodian, Reborn, and Stormtroopers. You get to meet Luke Skywalker, Lando Calrissian, and Tavion. (Too bad not Yoda *sigh*) In 2-player mode you get to duel a friend or play capture the flag. Also a big thing: you get to fight light-sabe wielding opponents. I really, really, really recomend this game!!!!!
Plus it's only $24!!!!!!!!!!!

Wonderful game

I don't understand why people give this game a bad review. Granted the single player story mode can be a little slow at times, and there is that one level where you can't be invinsible, because you have to be able to die at the end, but once you beat it, you can just warp to any level you want(I personally like to skip, Nar Shadda and go straight to Bespin), and once you beat it, you can play multiplayer, grab a friend or play alone, with 10 bots, there is a capture the flag mode where you can activate invulnerability go to the warring factions level and set human (1 or 2) against computer (1-10), but don't worry because you won't be totally invinsible, that map has narrow pathways and a deep hole under all the map, and you can be affected by force push and grip(you just can't choke to death, but at a high enough level it can be used to move people off a cliff). Now I seem to have forgotten my point, so I'll leave the desicion making up to those who do not have it, but I like the game, I've had it for almost 2 years, and few games could even be considered a rival to it for me.

This is the best game I have ever played and I very highly recomend it. Yet it is also rated Teen due to mild violence because your running around killing people yet it isnt that bad once you get past that.
