This game didnt arrive til almost new year!! It was supposed to be a christmas present for my son but oh well. When I contacted the seller about merely getting a tracking number for my package because it was getting close to Christmas and I was nervous that it hadn't arrived he informed me that he was too busy taking care of his many other customers to look up tracking numbers for me and that for my valuable purchase of under 20 bucks there would be many other merchants on Amazon happy to take my business. He did however have the time to send me over 5 emails bantering back and forth about my purchase and the tracking number calling me inconsiderate and selfish. Oh and shipping was EXCESSIVE for the amount of packaging he put into it and the actual cost of the shipping itself. This man acts like a 2yr old.

Tony Hawk's American Wasteland= best in extreme sports?

With a new invention comes a new series pretty much describes Tony Hawk's American Wasteland; a masterpiece of the genre of skateboarding and BMX.
Unlike last year's Tony Hawk's Underground 2, this game is more emphasized on story mode rather than "mission-based"; going back to the series orginal roots.
By selecting one of the five characters, players wind up in a tour bus that takes them to Los Angeles California, the city of the legends. Hopping off the bus gamers immediately jump into the story where players get jumped and beaten; their items and clothes all stolen away!
Gamers may seem that all else fails, but a girl named Mindy comes to the rescue and basically "tutors" you in regards to how you must blend into the L.A. enviornment, how to learn basic skate moves and more.
Veterans familar with the series will also witness a new way to "pimp-out" their character; obtaining haircuts, selecting new clothes and purchasing accessories. Furthermore, it can be essential to the mercurial or static player.
While players are skating and griding, players may have noticed a new device to the series, a BMX bike. Early in the game, players can learn the basics and grind and ride in a new way.
Let's not forget about the music. Covering bands such as Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance, this game has gone to the "punks."
If you get tired of playing story mode, there's always Classic Mode, where players can rank up their score and complete moderate tasks.
With no load times, great music and an awsome storyline, Tony Hawk's American Wasteland has just broke the mold in extreme sports games.

I bought a gamecube and needed a game so I bought this one. It is awesome. You can play multi player games. On story mode you can unlock levels.

No levels...No loading times...NO truth to those statements!

You start out Tony Hawk's American Wasteland in Hollywood. Actually, you start in a LEVEL that is about 5% the size of the real city of Hollywood. To progress further in the game, you must accomplish various missions and tasks that your smoking hot new friend Molly gives you. This game is really no different than the other T.H.U.G. games, except the levels start to open up and become more expansive as you finish your goals. As far as turning on your system, jumping into a giant video game version of California and skating for miles at a time...it doesn't really happen that way. It sounds great on the advertising campaign, but there ARE levels in this game and until you work at it for a while, you are stuck on one of the smallest first levels of any Tony Hawk. Still a fun game if you like the series, just misleading.

My 11 year old played this game at a friend's house and saved up his money to purchase this game. He was protective of his little sisters and brother by picking this over some of the others. First, this one has girls in it, where other Tony Hawk games do not and he wanted his sister's to have an opportunity to make girl skaters when they are old enough to play. Also, you can turn off the blood that spurts out when people fall off their boards. It also does not contain the graffiti with profanity in the way that others do. We limit the play of this game though b/c we do have younger kids in the house. It seems to be the "cleanest" of the Tony Hawk games and my son loves to be able to make his own skate parks and test them.

In this game you can play in classic or story modes. The story mode is entertaining at most and their is a glich in the my game so I can't do a wall flip when the french guy is trying to teach me. This is nly on the second level so. It also says you can ride BMX. This is true but the missions don't send you forward in the game, the just get you money. Not to mention it gets boring learning tricks you could learn by yourself. Bottom line is this game is entertaining but I'm sure there are better Tony Hawk games out there. I plan to try Tony Hawks underground 2 next.
