Too short...awesome game.

While the game was incredible. I did find the main story line way too short. However I waited another year, went back, and played the game again. This time I tried being completely good,(I obviously went Evil the first time) I also went on all the side missions and did pretty much everything there is to do in the game.(I.E. opening all the demon doors, getting all the silver keys, finding the dolls...etc) Over-all I found it more satisfying the second time. Getting to play both sides and experimenting on the different missions really adds variety to the game. I think there is probably a little bit of something for everyone in this game. If you think it was too short, then you should go back and play it with a different path or trying everything you can think of. If you still think it was too short, then you are probably comparing it to Morrowind! Over-all I enjoyed the game.

GTA for a medieval world?

Many of the reviews mention that this game did not live up to the hype. From the perspective of someone who's playing the game 3 yrs after its release, I missed all of the hype. That being said I probably rank this game higher than those who bought the hype. Apparently within the hype were a lot of broken promises.

This game shares a few similarities with GTA San Andreas. (hence my title) It offers a large open ended world where you can kill random people. If you choose to kill innocent people, the guards/police will come after you. In both games you can have multiple wives/girlfriends in different cities (both of which give you gifts if you keep them happy).

That's about where the similarities end. You can't steal cars, boats or planes (obviously). In fact there are no modes of transportation (except teleporting). You get so lost in the game that you don't even notice that there isn't a single horse in the entire world. That aspect of Fable is nothing like GTA. The actual game is more comparable to Zelda.

This game has an excellent journey with a very abrupt ending. My biggest complaint with this game is that once you take your final quest the game is over. They should follow the lead of GTA style games, where once you've completed the main story line you can continue to free-roam and complete side quests. After you've worked so hard to get the best weapons, and max out your attributes you should be able to actually use them.

When people complain about a game being too short (I'm looking at you Gears of War, Bioshock, Halo 3) what they're really saying is, now that the game is over I wish I were still playing it. I consider it to be a compliment.

This game has tons of secrets and plenty of things to do every step of the way. After switching from PS2 to Xbox 360, I'm finding that there are a ton of Xbox exclusive games that offer hours of entertainment! This is only my second RPG (KotOR was my first). I'm not a big fan of turn based fighting where you queue up your next move. Since Fable offered live action fighting this aspect was better than KotOR, but KotOR had a better story line.

The bottom line is; Fable is a deep action adventure RPG where the journey is greater than the destination. This game is great even 3 years after the initial release (maybe even better because you avoid the hype).

Best RPG

Along with the two Halo games, Fable is one of Xbox's best games. The gameplay and story are addictive and fun. The game is full of humor and a lot of action. Since I didn't have high expectations for this game, when I played it I was simply shocked by how good it actually was. Since I bought it to play on my Xbox 360 the game was very cheap by then so not only did I buy one of the best game ever, but I got it for a mere $10.

An awesome game that should not be overlooked despite its flaws.

Fable is one of those games people love to hate. It was hyped up big time, and it didn't really deliver on all of those promises, so people give it a hard time. If you take the time to actually play Fable, you'll realize its still a very open ended RPG, and one of the best at that.

Visually, the game is one of the best of the PS2/GCN/Xbox generation. In terms of graphics alone its one of the best looking game on the original Xbox. It has high amounts of shine and a surprisingly high amount of textures. Everything is pretty well detailed. While the world isn't as open ended as I had hoped it would be, it still has the long draw distance that you would want it to have had it been more open ended. In other words, its a very impressive game for its time. In terms of artistic design, it fairly unique. Its kind of how you'd want a fairy tale based game to look. I like ti a lot, and it brings you into the game's style very well.

The soundtrack is surprisingly good. Its very light hearted for most of the game, but it gets pretty epic and loud during boss fights. It also switches into a sort of dangerous sounding theme when you're near enemies. Its not the best music I've heard in a game, but it works pretty well and reacts to what's going on in the game world.

Game-play is always the core of the game, if the game-play is broken, the rest of the game might as well be nonexistent. Lucky for us, this game rocks. I know its not as open ended as promised, and there's a couple other minor broken promises, but overall its very cool and fun to play. The thing that stands out most to me is that depending on the way you play, your character becomes good or evil. The more evil you play, the more evil you look, you start to grow horns, become very pale, and you develop a sort of red glow. Likewise, if you play like a saint, you look like one. People also react to you differently depending on how evil or good you look. The ending of the game is also different depending on if you're good or evil. The combat is fun, simple and responsive. Being able to just fly between melee and spells mid-fight is awesome. I consider the combat to be mostly balanced, except that the ranged weapons are kind of useless. The story is fairly predictable, but its not a bad one either. Character customization goes beyond good and evil, you can choose tattoos, hair styles, beards, clothes, weapons, and more. There's a lot of different weapons that you can augment, including secret ones you usually have to do separate quests for. Which brings me to the side quests, there are lots of side quests, and it makes the game last much longer if you do them. There's some awesome game-play to be found here.

Just an overall awesome game if you have an Xbox, Xbox 360, or PC and you give it the chance it deserves. Peter Moleneux may be a little overly ambitious, but the game still turned out great.

A Really Enjoyable, Fun Game.

This was the first game I played with the Xbox and I really think it lived up to its expectations. I loved being able to play it more than once, making my character either into an evil person or a good person depending on the deeds I did during the course of the game. There are plenty of little side games to play along the way. The graphics were good and the game play was good as well. It is even a fun game to 'watch' someone else play. This game was obviously had developers with a sense of humor and that was helpful in the entertainment factor as well. It is not a 'long' game, but like I mentioned before, you can do all sorts of things with it that take more or less time depending on what you decide to do. Great fun all around.

This is gonna be a great game!

I am so phsyced about this game. You have the ability to be good or bad. It has real time combat and magic. It also has customization and branching conversations with different stories. There is also leveling up, like any RPG. It has swords, magic, and bows. You can be highly revered by villagers or despised. Although it dumped an originally planned co-op mode, it still should have awsome gameplay and enormous replay value with the ability to be Righteous or devious. Plus this comes with a bonus DVD with 4 hours of making of features and game demos.
Pre-order this game now. Also, don't review this if you dislike RPG's, fantasies, and adventures because your giving it a bad score( at least most will) because of its genre.

Fable sounds like it will have a developed interaction sytem more creative but similar in design to KOTOR, being that I really liked that game, albeit it was somewhat simple, it was fun, I can't wait to see fable, Graphics should never be the firstmost important thing on our minds for games, it should be gameplay and story. That's what this game is hoping to deliver.

This looks sweet
