NOT PLAYABLE ON XBOX 360

I love MTM3, but once I got my XBOX 360 and found it is not compatible and XBOX refuses to respond to my inquiries, I have decided to get rid of everything. EA Games should put pressure on Microsoft to get their act together. Until I can play some type of Midtown Madness on my 360, I will never buy another XBOX GAME, Accessory, or game from anyone.

FUN at First!

this game is okay, but i think that is a clone of the Crazi Taxi series and Need for Speed. when i first played it yesterday, i was syked about it, but then today i got a chance to play a little more of it, and frankly i was getting bored with it. the initial missions are lackluster and they are all about beating the clock like in Crazi Taxi; except delivering people to places you deliver pizza and packages(BORING). also they have slow vehicle in the beginning: you can drive antiques, foreign models and industial trucks(SLOW). don't get me wrong this game is okay, but i don't think that it is worth [item price]at all, maybe ...just rent it. the other part of the game that is similar to Need for Speed is the cruise mode, you pick a vehicle (a slow one) and you cruise the city either Paris or D.C. and you start out cruising just getting familiar with the city and then you begin to run into things while driving fast and then the Police get dispatched to chase you. again!, cool at first and then you get chased and the cops are easy to get by and they only ram you vehicle(they do nothing else), plus you choose between 1 and 4 cars to chase you (what a rush, NOT!) at least in Need for Speed you get cool fast cars and a rush.

overall: this games has nice graphics and neat ideas but all in all it is just a cheap immatation of Crazi Taxi and Need for Speed. if you are itchin' to play like i was, just rent it. luckily i got mine from gamestop so i will be taking it back this weekend.
overall score 6/10

Nothing new

Out of all the driving games I've played, this one is nothing special. "Midtown Madness 3" is a street racing game that is just like Crazy Taxi. The gameplay consists solely of racing through the streets trying to hit checkpoints usually with a competitor in hot pursuit.

This game is like all the other racing games but without the violence. There are quite a few different cars to select and drive around and they're all fairly easy to control.

I'm sure that with Xbox Live, this game could be fun, but it still gets tiring after a while.

Great driving action, dumb games

I'll be brief. The driving is great. The cities are cool and expansive. In that way alone, it is one of the best driving games out there.

But the designer's sense of humor makes my skin crawl. Bad puns and stupid jokes are everywhere. The other problem is the programmers tried to design these little challenges for you to accomplish and they are all basically the same -- pick up people and drop them off, drive through checkpoints, hit cars until they stop. Put a dress on a pig and you still got bacon, ya know?

Frustrating for younger players

Although this game is well-designed and fun, for younger players it is extremely frustrating. Any game that purports to be rated E for everyone, including young players who may lack the skills to play at the higher game levels, should include either shortcuts or cheats so the full features of the game can be enjoyed by all who play.

Reviews make game sound better than reality

I recently bought this game because I was looking for a game that I could just drive around and have fun, much like GTA: Vice City.

Graphics are great, handling and speed is nice, however, to beat the game it is very hard. I gave up and just searched for codes because I wanted to be able to drive all of the cars.

For this price, I would reccommend this game, however, reviews are often over exaggerative.

My favorite game

Okay, so I only have a handful of games for Xbox and haven't owned a home video system since Atari 2600, but this game is hands down my favorite.

Sure, there are negative aspects to it like the level of difficulty on the final Blitz races (hard!) and trying to unlock certain cars. But overall, the graphics are great, the scenery is quite lifelike and depictive of the real D.C. and Paris, and it's the coolest feeling to tool around both cities jumping stairs at famous monuments and knocking each and every lamppost out all around the White House.

The game is the epitome of fun. Where else can you race a garbage truck up the steps of the Capitol building or do doughnuts under the Eifel Tower? My one peeve: players can't get inside the White House fence. Oh, the things I could do....

Nice Game

There's one problem with MM3, and that is you cannot get outside of your car, walk and look around. The driving play is so immersive and the environments so recognizeable that you can't help just driving around saying "Hey, I know that place!".

MM3 is silly driving and smash 'em up fun. I've been online a couple times and people are just happy to play in 'cruise' mode, with absolutely no objective to the game but to talk to each other while driving around Paris (or DC) wrecking into people, objects or each other.

The arcade style of the game is very much like Midnight Club but the controls are an order of magnitude better. I'll just say it: Midnight Club sucks as compared to Midtown Madness 3. It's fairly challenging and I'll probably get back to it, but the free roam driving is so much fun, I may not. Actually, 'free roam' is a good way to think of MM3. Think of the free roam mode of Project Gotham without the cones, add pedestrians and wreckable stuff, voila!

In MM3, if you are in the mood to go on a rampage of destruction, there are hundreds of lampposts, park benches, barriers, traffic signs, cafe umbrellas and tables and other objects to knock around. And if you're in a real Hulk mood, you can drive a garbage truck and take out some statues and kiosks.

The detail is fabulous. There's even an underground parking garage at what I believe is the Kennedy Center in DC complete with gates to crash through. There are also ramps placed at various places, like the Capitol Building so you can jump your vehicle over fountains, creeks and the like.

Now it must be said that the graphics are good, but nowhere near as good as Project Gotham. Control of your vehicle is comparable though and the layout of the controls are the same.

There's plenty more to explore in this one but it is, behind Gotham, the most laugh out loud driving game for the XBOX yet. Yes I like it better than Midnight Club 2, Crazy Taxi, Yakuza Mission, Rallisport, Sega GT 2002 but not as much as MotoGP2.

On the other hand, three cities would have been better, and people haven't really been racing with it online...

Best Racing Game, Period

If you like racing games this is without a doubt a must have game. If you dont like racing games, still give mm3 a chance. It totally different from any racing game I have ever played. Instead of driving around a boring circle thousands of times, you get to drive through 2 very detaild cities. Paris and Washington DC. See main attractions like the eifel tower, the Louve, the white house, the capitol building the lincoln memorial and many others. Cruise on the streets following all traffic laws or wreck the whole city. Run from the police through soccer feilds and lawns. at the beginning you start out with trashy cars, but as you win races and complete jobs Like delevering pizzas the fastest, or getting a man in a limo to his wedding on time, you get awesome cars and other vehicles. Some of the things you can get are an 18 wheeler, a garbage truck, a cement mixer, a safe truck. Some of the cars are a volswagen beetle a chevy corvette a audi tt and dodge viper there are 2 awesome cars that I havent unlocked yet. The game has tons of replay value You can cruise the streets with a freind and look for new paint jobs for all your cars. If you have xbox live you can play people all over the world.

I paid fifty dollars for this game when it first came out, and it was well worth it. For twenty bucks, your ripping amazon.com off. GET THIS GAME NOW!!!!!!!!!
