This is the best game Iv`e ever played in my 8 years of life.I keep it in a secret box for safe keeping.Do you want to know why I keep it in a secret box? So my sister won`t get her greedy hands on it.And it has an alarm in case my sister gets it.Because she is crazy about this game.Even my dog tries to get into it shocking isn`t it?.Do you want to know why my sister`s dog tries to get into it? Because she has trained him to think its a toy.I would give this game 100 stars if I could.Buy it it is worth the money really it is worth the money.WAIT I just remembered my sister`s hamster also tries to bite the lock of.If you have a brother or sister and your the little guy protect it.Please say you like my review I worked hard on it really. Please vote YES!!!

Great Pirate Game, But You must be patient!!!!

This game has the best water effects I've seen (Yes better than Morrowind)! The waves swell and recede on the shorelines and sharks even swim around while you battle on the wavy seas. The sunsets and storms are awesome to behold. Moonlight reflests off the waves at night! Towns are also done very well and each town is looks different. You will have to be patient in order to build up your money and fleet, but it is well worth the effort. Exploring is the key to finding better weapons and treasures to sell for gold. The will let you go anywhere, but that doesnt mean you will survive! I fought my way through a skeletion infested cave and found a nice 4 barrel pistal, but could not fight my way back at this time. Saving is very important in this game, because you will die often at first, but it gets better. There is a main storyline to follow, but you follow as you want. You can borrow money from loan sharks (for a 3% fee of course) or you can loan them money (for a nice little 3% commision) too. To build your reputation you will have to complete quests and deliveries. When traveling on land you will see seagulls, butterflies, lizards, undead monkeys, bandits, waterfalls, beaches, undead skeletons, sweaying grass, trees, ,bushes, and shrubs. At first I wanted to hate this game when I keep dying, but once I got the hang of fighting and battling on the open seas I grown to love this game and cant stop playing (Which Its time to free myself from the English prison so I can sink some pirates matey :-)

This game is top in my book.It also doesnt follow the story line of the movie which I think is great, it is a pirate game.Though it does have the undead in the game and other things from the movie. But it is not for the impatient. The sword fights are hard and take time to master. The ship battles are hard and take time. Basicly this game takes time. If you have the patients to figure them out and as it is a RPG you gain experience as you go and they get easier. You manage alot in this game. The ships condition, cargo, crew and the crews moral, your gear, basicly everything. This game is probly to complex for younger gamers.Graphics are mint in detail. The flaws in it are the glitches. It will freeze now and then. Though I only noticed after playing it for almost 8 hours straight. I haven't enjoyed a pirate game in many years this one is the best I have played. Before this I loved a game simply called Pirates for the Commodore 64.Simply this game is not for everyone and is complex.

well worth $$ if your patient

Okay, first let me say that i returned tomb raider AOD for this game, and i am amazingly happy about. it I would give this game a 4.5 if i could so i guess i will give it 5. The graphics are perfect. from the sail boats to the ports to the dungeons, they all look amazing. The ability to fire cannons at another ship, and they board it is amazing. the controls. between ship and person is eazy, one isnt lacking over the other. Both are well thought out. The fact that i died so much is either do to the fact that [I'm bad] or the game is hard. i will choose the latter. You might think [I'm bad] but try to escape the storm without running away. When you have two pirate boats firing at you, now that is fun, especially when you sink one and the other is running from you. Now the complaints. a little fawly collision detection but nothing major. like walking through people you just cut apart. and not that much, but it is there. controls are a bit annoying. for some reason you cant look 360 without moving your character only up or down. but you can do it with the boat. The convo windows could of added a back option on some parts. And this last piece mayb not be a complaint, just my generall thought. pirates and gold and everything is generaly random, you can go to a spot and find a diamond, then die and go to the same spot and find gold. inside houses are like that two. pirates generally move ambush you in packs of 3 to 6 and they are all better than you. and your single shot pistol, reloads way to slow when there is six blades coming your way. you will die in this game, alot. a real alot. so be sure to save. Have patience, i first i was about to return but i just spent 6 hours playing a game without turning it off. i havent done that since playing the original RE for the first time on ps1. have patience, grasshopper, and when you find you love it, tell your signifact other to have patience, because you will never see them again. unless there is a blackout.

It seems like I'm the first person to get my hands on this wonderful game. I won't go into a lot of detail for obvious security reasons, but I will say this game is EXCELLENT. It took me an hour or two to get used to the gameplay, but once I figured it out, the next 5 hours flew by. I was so upset when I had to give it back! Like I said, for security reasons I can't give any details about unreleased games, but I had to tell someone how awesome this game is!

A bit rough around the edges but still a great game

Alot of what other reviewers have been saying is true. The camera angles can get frustrating, especially in closed in spaces. Some aspects of the game seem like they could have been more refined and finished, yet all in all this is a great game and still deserves a great rating. The story is excellent and there is plenty to explore and many side quests as well (Not near as much as Morrowind though). The sea battles are very well done as is the dueling. There are many ships from which to build your armada and skills to level up in. If you still have doubts go ahead and rent it first, but definitely check it out and give it a chance, otherwise you will be missing out on a great game

awesome

This is simply a fantastic game-incredible complexity, I don't know hao they crammed it all in-the se-battles , the Duals-you can play this game for months and still discover new things-one of the most complex detailed games ever made.

As of the writing of this review, I've been playing this game for the last two months...and it is simply awesome. The graphics are great, there are tons of quests or your own agendas to go on. As an example my pirate is fairly 'lucky' and makes a habit of gambling in taverns. One time while gambling the loser of the game offered a woman for gambling, and my pirate won her!

I don't know why everyone's complaining about bugs...I've yet to see one.

If you've ever enjoyed the NES or PC version of "Pirates!", this game is a must-have.

I dont know where the heck the other reviewers are there reviews from. Either they played the game for a couple of seconds or they just plain suck at video games. I have yet to see any bugs and the controls were acually easy to get used to. I found the game to be just as good as morrowind, if not better.
