The first thing you will notice about the game is how ridiculously disproportionate the characters look. Wow, in a world of Dead or Alive Extreme Volley Ball, couldn't UBI Soft do better that this? Okay, but you get to beat up on Apollo Creed and all the other antagonists from the Rocky movies, so maybe there is something here. Not so. I was bored in minutes. With so many excellent fighting games out, how can one endure repeating a few simple moves? (Punch, punch, jab . . . jab, punch, punch.) It's pretty bad. And when you get hit hard, little blue start appear above your head. Once I got hit with a jab the stomach, and the character flipped up and around, and landed facing down on the mat. It was more like a move in professional wrestling. But hey, if you really want a boxing game, you might like it.

I enjoyed this game very much. The graphics were well done. The game was too easy to beat. I beat the game in one night, and it felt like a waste of my money (I Rented It.)

Overall: Don't waste your money or time with this game.

This game has a sliding scale.

Subtract 1 point if you are not a fan of Rocky.
Subtract another point if you arent a Boxing game fan.

Fan of Rocky and Boxing games? GET THIS GAME. I am having a BLAST.. in fact now I want to see all the Rocky movies again. The boxing game doesnt really stand on its on without the Rocky license, knockout kings is a superior boxing simulation. The license here works FOR the game rather than against it for a change.

PLUS

1-Great License
2-Good Boxing game

MINUS

1-Tedious Training games
2-Need to be a fan of boxing games, this wont change your mind.

This game is pretty bad ass, the trainings are difficult but once you know how to do them you can get your stats up real good, the bruising and blood that doesnt go away is great, and who doesnt like the underdog Rocky.
The only problems i have with it are the stamina training (hella hard) and the intro cut scene is actual movie footage but all the others are computer animated (and look ok but ide rather see real movie ones)

If you like Rocky movies this game is great, but dont spend more than twenty-five
on it

KNOCKOUT KINGS IS THE BEST

I LIKE THE ROCKY MOVIES AND LOVE BOXING GAMES. THE ULTIMATE BOXING GAME IS STILL KNOCKOUT KINGS!! WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT THIS GAME WAS THE HARD TRAINING AND YOU WOULD HAVE LOW STATS COMPARED TO YOUR OPPONENT. THIS GAME IS PRETTY COOL, TAKES A LITTLE WHILE TO ADJUST. I WISH CUT SCENCES WERE A LITTLE LONGER. BEST PART IS PLAYING AS CLUBBER LANG OR TOMMY GUN OR DRAGO OR APOLLO. HACKINGWARZ,CQM

Fun, but I've seen better

I am a big Rocky fan. I really like the movies and they are very inspirational to me. When I bought the game, I was very excited to play Rocky whom is my favorite movie character of all time. There are many combos of punches you can use against your opponents. The game has good graphics and short computer generated movies which are a little bit funny. The fights get a little bit more challenging as you progress into the game. I found the game to be a little bit too short. Other than that, it is an excellent game. I give it 4 stars and not 5 because I have played other games which are longer and more intense, such as Halo and Halo 2. Overall, I was glad that I bought the game. I had a lot of fun with it. If you are a Rocky fan, then you should buy this game because you will probably enjoy it a lot just like me. Thanks for reading and I hope my review was helpfull. Bye now.

Rocky: Simply the Best !

Having played the Xbox and Playstation 2 versions of the game at ECTS 2002 trade show I can tell you that Rocky is quite simply the best movie licences ever produced and one of the best games you will have played for many a long year.
Fans of the movie are going to love it because the game has a visual flair and an immense depth that recreates the sweet science of boxing perfectly and even if you have no knowledge of the Rocky films you will not believe the enjoyment this game can induce.

The boxing itself is easily the best 3D interpretation of the sport to date and makes all other contenders, such as Knockout Kings 2002, Ready 2 Rumble and Mike Tyson's Boxing, look punch-drunk has-beens surviving on past glories.
The graphics are excellent, great lighting effects, fully 3D crowds, and the atmosphere and fantastic soundtrack all use the Xbox and Playstation 2 power to full effect.

The single player mode is superb, but get together with some friends for a session in Exhibition mode and you can expect whoops and hollers to rival the best multiplayer games.
In fact this game has the only multiplayer game to rival Halo.

This brilliant arcade boxing game is based on all five films, and a worthy accompaniment to them. The beauty is that gamers unfamiliar with the series will admire Rocky for its power and simplicity, while film buffs who know little about games will appreciate how true the spirit of the celluloid version it is.

It has captured the essence of Stallone's scripts, acting and OTT fight sequence with remarkable flair.
Fan of the movie? Get Rocky! Fan of boxing games? Get Rocky? Fan of the Xbox/Playstation2? GET ROCKY

Freedom Rock-y

Well this is the best boxing game I have played yet on any console. The main reason I found it so good was the freedom you have over your fighter. In other boxing games I have played its all about who can hit jab ( the "A" button) the fastest. I found this really boring after a while, but Rocky has solved that. No more can you simply jab your way to the top. This game takes actual skill and timing is crucial. The boxers have a very fluent movement. I also like the fact that I can punch either head or body-blow punches when I feel like it. Not when the "special move" is implemenented. The graphics are very good, considering Rocky looks a bit thin in this game for some reason. The movie plot is there, the characters from the movies are there along with a slew of new contenders. All in all I can't say anything negative about this game. It is very intense and alot of fun. The only thing missing that would make this a perfect game is "live" capabilities, but maybe next time. Rock on!
