Has its own appeal despite not being as good as the computer version

While I like the computer version, which is tailor-made for nerds like me, better overall, the xBox version is not without its charms. The eye candy is incredible. The houses are so realistic! And the character creation is so much fun! (though, oddly, I can't get my characters to look quite as lifelike as I can on the computer) And it is such a kick to get to see my Sims on the big screen. Plus, you can have as many neighborhoods as you want.

Some things the computer version has that the Xbox version doesn't have: Two-story houses, more career tracks, 8 people to a family instead of 4, 10 families to a neighborhood instead of 6, more objects and decor (though the xBox also has some the computer version doesn't), the ability to go in super-fast mode even when people are at home and awake, etc.

The computer version can hold my attention for 12+ hours at a time; with the xBox I get bored after 2 or 3 (maybe it's because I'm on a nice comfy sofa instead of a hard-backed computer chair, so I fall asleep! *wink*). However, those 2 or 3 hours are a lot of fun. I recommend this game.

I got it for PS2

I have PS2 and Xbox and I am assuming the two games are if not the same very similar. If you have never played the Sims before I guess I would suggest buying this. Its confusing at first but a little addictive. But like me, if you have had the Sims for P.C. dont even bother. Its harder to build/buy/live on a console and its definitely not as good as Hot Date or Sims Vacation.

This Game Is Cool And Funny!

I bought the The Sims for computer and now have all the expansions for it. It is the best computer game I have ever played and even though I don't have The Sims for x-box, it sounds even better than the computer game. I have read many reviews and discriptions of the game and I feel that it is worth it for what you pay!

I go on amazon.com everyday and check on XBOX games all te time. But all of a sudden, I had this interest on the sims games. So I searched for, the sims! And I kept on going down and down and BOOM!!! There I saw The Sims for XBOX!!! It was like a dream come true! It said it was coming out on March 27th 2003. I saw it on Januay 29th. Ever I always wanted this game. I asked some of my friends about this game. (They have PS2) They it was the best sims game that was evr invented! They said that it was better than the computer sims games. I am sooooo excited to get it when I am free. Please guys, get this game! You'll have one heck of a time! You'll be glued to the T.V......

When I purchased this game, I couldn't wait to play after hearing so much about the PC version. After I turned it on, I played it for a couple of minutes and quickly became bored. I tried it a few more times, but was still bored. Maybe I was expecting too much, but I would not waste my money on this game.

Not so great

Better on the PC by far. The controls are combersome, the graphics aren't that great. The only part better than the PC version is the zooming and free rotation which is being added in The Sims2. If you've got a high end computer, save your money for The Sims2.

Fun For A While

This is an extremely clever, interesting, and entertaining game which I found enjoyable for a while but then found the following to be quite disappointing:
1. It takes the Sims about 15 minutes to walk across their very small living room.
2. ...they could have spoken a real laguage.
3. Why in the world did I waste all of that time getting my Sim the ultimate job when She couldn't have the ultimate house? Is there a logical explanation as to why you have a cap on how much your house can be worth because I don't get it.
