Best RPG Period!!!

Monster Hunter freedom is probably the best game I have ever played.

Main Scheme
You are a rookie hunter at the start of the game. As you slay more monsters and beat more missions you gain stature inthe village. Also when you beat more wyverns(dragons) you are able to make better armour and weapons. This game is huge I have 125 hours and i'm only about 1/4 percent done, so this game can last a very long time. This game however does not have a story line but rather you are able to do more as the game progresses.
10/10

Grafics
The grafics are insane!! They are crisp and clean and are absulutely stunning you won't find a better looking game anywhere. The cutscenes for new monsters are great! So far my favorite is the khezu(5 star village chief quest)
10/10

Sound
The sound is awesome!! Every monster makes diffrent noises, the coolest is by far the wyverns. The noises range from roars to footfalls to clinks of your armour and the slash of your weapons. The music is great to but they play a lot of the same songs. The only flaw is that sometimes the roars cut out if you are to far away from the creature.
10/10

Fighting
Unlike most RPG's the game is not focused on leveling up but rather on skill and strategy. To defeat certain wyverns you need particular itams though most of them are easy to get. Although you only have three attacks per weapon, you have 5 weapon categorys with 100's of diffrent weapons. The creatures have many diffrent attacks and attributes so you might need a diffrent weapon for each.
10/10

Camera
The camera is not as bad as everyone claims. I was thinking of not buying it but I discovered it wasn't that bad. The only flaw is that if your camera angle is in the wall it makes it hard to see anything. But trie it out for yourself before you judge.
8/10

If you answered "Yes!", then this is a great bet. I see that because this game is out of production, it now has a $50 price tag. Don't let that scare you off, as it's worth every penny. I bought mine brand new at an EB Games about a year ago for 39.99 plus tax, and at a ten dollar increase I would still shell it out for this game. Many other people have given this glowing reviews - and for good reason. Out of my 35+ game library for PSP, this is easily my favorite, and the game I always come back to after playing any recent additions to my library. The reviews from others are pretty spot on accurate...namely:
1- This game is HARD, but rewarding.
2- It's got amazing graphics that are just as good as its PS2 counterpart.
3- It is EXTREMELY addictive.
4- Character control is responsive and very good.
5- Leveling up is done by LEARNING the patterns and abilities of the wyverns. You level by your own experience instead of through points. You become stronger solely based on the armour, weapons, and items you create. You must learn when to dodge, run, roll, block, and strike each wyvern depending on your weapon and the wyvern itself.
6- The camera can get a bit wonky, but mostly it is an issue only when you are trapped against a wall. As you get better at the game this becomes much less of a problem.
That's really all I have to say. The age range for this game is probably 15 and up, as younger players may get a bit frustrated by the difficulty level. Highly, highly recommended. I'll be first in line for the second installment in September '07.
It's THAT good.

Warning! Prepare to hand over the rest of your spare time.

Let me just say flat out that this game is very addicting. Ive already put in 70 hrs into this game. And Ive only completed half the quest in this huge game. I already had the previous monster hunter title on the ps2 and just when i got out of its grasp they sucked me right back in with this newest game.

Monster Hunter Freedom is much like the original but yet much different. It has more quests to embark on, more weapons and armor to collect, and more (mostly just different colored) wyverns (dragons to those whom aren't fimiliar) to kill.

For those who dont have the first game Monster Hunter Freedom is a game were you hunt... monsters. But then you take scales, hides, claws, wings, tails, ect. from them and use them to make armor and weapons. So the bigger and tougher the monster the better the weapons and armor.

The multiplayer is one of the best parts of the game. Were you can get a friend and team up to defeat a monster together. (Friend not included)

So buy this game(What else is good out now on the psp anyways).

P.S.If your saying that if this game is so good why havn't heard of it. Well its because capcom hasn't spent any of their money to advertise it on tv.

P.S.P.And make sure to quit your job to make way for months at home on your couch. (couch not included)

I expected nothing from this game...

but was pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable it actually was. I had heard that it received bad reviews after purchasing it for a trip I was going on. I ended up playing it and found it difficult to put down. Game play is fairly straight forward. Equip yourself with the proper equipment, select the mission then go kill everything you see. Pros and Cons:

Pros:
1. Has a fairly decent selection of character parts to customize your character to your wants.
2. Weaponry customization and upgrading is surprisingly vast. I had no idea so many weapons were going to be available.
3. Mission availability is very nice.
4. Graphics are pretty unbelievable for the PSP.
5. Items are everywhere. And harvesting kills is a cool feature.

Cons:
1. Controls are kind of unintuitive.
2. Targeting system is nonexistent
3. Stats and mission requirements are fairly difficult to understand. Lots of reading required in order to understand what it is you are supposed to do.

All in all this game is very worthwhile. I'm going to purchase part 2 now simply because this one was that much fun.

I love this game even I've only played it for 13 total hours. So far it is my favorite game of my 9 PSP games.

Borderline Mediocre....and that's bad.

Monster Hunter Freedom has its good and bad moments. There are 1000s of items, equipment, 100s of monsters, areas, and good stuff like that. You can trade, buy, sell, combine items (1000s of combinations), cook, garden, fish, and many other things. Now for the monster hunting, it's extremely boring. It's very choppy and has a "cheap" feeling to it. Your character can't perform much tricks, except just struggle to lift a huge bone sword and slice the monster. The continous boring fight system becomes a dread. Each fighting area is very small, but you can go into other areas which comes with a 15-20 second load time. That's not that bad of a load time, but the fact that each area is very small is what makes it annoying. There's probably over 300+ hours of gameplay, and I could not be able to finish it all with the boring hunting. I can definitely see how some people love this game, however, this isn't my "cup of tea." An incredible dissapointment...1/5

Not as good as I thought would be

This game is too complicated and isn't as fun as an average person may think. The point of the game is to kill monsters- end of story. Dull and boring

This game is awesome

This game is amazing. you hunt animals (ie dinosaurs, dragons, dozens of other things) to eat. you hunt animals for weapons. you hunt animals for armor. you gather resources to heal you. you gather resources for ammo. you can combine materials. you have lances, great swords, duel swords, bow guns, shot guns, small sword and shield, you can make bombs and traps. hundreds of hrs. of game play and 100% replayable. and ur character and some items get transfered to monster hunter freedom 2.
