Utterly worthless, wasn't even fun for an hour

The installer worked great, and that's all I can say for
this game. It lived on my hard drive less than 2 hours before
getting un-installed, and good riddance.

The game begins with a "campaign" of tutorials. The very
first tutorial involves being shown a series of mouse clicks,
then repeating the same set of mouse clicks about 100 times --
pick a site, open yet another grocery store, stock it with 4
products, your choice of any four from about 6 available (whee).
Over and over again. The goal is to get annual profits over
$100 million before repetitive stress injury sets in from the
mouse clicks. After repeated plays I found it impossible
to exceed about $65-70 million. That's right, the very first
game in tutorials is un-winnable! That makes it impossible to go
on to do anything else, so if there is any merit to this game,
I'll sure never find it.

The total fun value of this game is about 20 minutes.

Terrible game

This game was a waste of money. It kept freezing up so I couldn't play for very long. I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone!

A big waste of time and money

Boy am I dissapointed in this game. The manual is very poor, and the game is pretty complicated and FAR from intuitive. The graphics are nice, but who cares? I've tried three times to get into it, but it just plain [is bad]. Spend your money elsewhere. My version will make a better coaster than a game. Don't buy into the hype of the other reviews like I did.

Just Terrible

I don't know how this game is getting 5 stars. It is complicated in the way of icons and easy in the way of play. I actually sat back and let the game play itself (let time run at an accelerated speed) and I earned BILLIONS of dollars!

You can open and operate a grocery store, but you have only 4 items to sell there and no marketing options, no advertising, no hiring and firing. It's just a plain bore. I think that very little thought went into its creation.

I bought it because of the good reviews and the low price ($9.99). I am sorry I did.

Not in depth at all

This is not what is it cracked up to be. The first mission is you have to get a $90 Million net profit in a year from opening local grocery stores. That should be enough to let you know this is bogus. Furthermore, you have to achieve said $90 Million by selling 4 items in each store that have a mark up of 50 cents. So if selling 180 million loaves of bread in a year sound fun, then buy this game. Sim City 4 makes way more sense as a business simulator than this piece of junk.

Don't buy

This is a bad game. It is boring, tedious, and sometimes crashes.

If you want a building game you are far better off getting a tychon game because this plays just like it except it has 1/10th the excitement.

This game gets a definite SELL rating...

Not what I had hoped for

I was looking for something on par with warcraft and starcraft by blizzard, but what I got was "convenience store tycoon", not as playable as Hasbro's Rollercoaster tycoon. but definitly the red tape paperwork frustration of business, caveat empor

Nice educational software, but it gets boring after a while.

I was very excited when I got this game, and enjoyed, learn something when played. But after a while, it got little boring. Should put some spice onto the software little more. user interface is little confusing, so you have to play "learning" scenario to learn all the interface. And I hope they put more educational facts, such as business term definitions, more accounting formulas, maybe some business case-studies; make it even more educational and fun to play...

Nice game but has some frustrating points.

Ok first off I think the first Capitalism title had a much better AI. In this title my computer opponents seem to flounder. Their stock price remains in the 10$ range while mine skyrockets to the 3000$ range. I leave plenty of options open to the computer but it does not take advantage of them.

Fire disastors are a pain in the neck. You will be informed that one of your buildings has been gutted by fire and will tell you what city. There seems to be no way to tell what you had going on in that building or even where in the city the building was. You are forced to check the entire map for a paved over spot and then guess what you used to do there.

Research is also annoying. If you hire someone to oversee your research they will often change what you are researching after it has finished its' alloted time. This would not be all bad except it changes what you get informed when the research is complete. For instance, say I am researching Cakes for 5 years and my scientist decides when it is done I will research Car. When the research is done I will get a message that, " Your research in Car is complete." It should be telling me that my Cake research is done.

Research also does not always work for me. Sometimes when the research has completed its' alloted time I will see no improvement whatsoever.

There is also an extreme lack of scenarios. Only 5 I believe. Global Domination is not one of them either.

The graphics were not all that great but that is not what I focus on the most in a strategy game.

I give the game 3 stars. The local competitors do make the game slightly challenging and I can overcome some other problems by painstakingly writing down on a pad of paper.

Very difficult and frustrating

If you want to play this game, a recomend you that first, read all the Big Manual (that came with the game), and then try to play. It's a fun game, but you still in the same level by a lot of hours.
