Let's face it, Tetris is a classic game. It is probably the single most played game in existance, and most certainly dominates the puzzle game category. In it's simplicity it appeals to many different gamers. While it is not the most technologically advanced game for the xbox, it does bring a number of improvements to the older versions of the game. here are a number of different game styles which can make for a challenging game for even the most gnarled of tetris players. But the best part so far about the game, is that my entire family can sit around the tv and enjoy playing it together. this is a must for the family xbox.

Addictive!

I bought this game on a whim, and couldn't have been more pleased with it. With 6 variations of Tetris, (including the highly addictive Hot Line Tetris) it was enough to keep me playing for hours on end. Great for those who enjoy puzzle games.

I really like this game. We played it over the holidays with my family and it was addictive! It is hard to find a game that my sister and wife will play but with this game we do not have that problem. I really like that you can listen to your own music while playing. An XBOX only feature!! It is a little different thatn the other Tetris games that I have played but it is worth buying!!

If youlike teris this is the game for you. Not at all like the tetris on your cell phone. It has all these types of crazy levels and settings. Very fun!

Tetris worlds for the XBOX is as much fun as it was in the 80's when the game comes out. In addition to the standard tetris game their are also several different versions based around the same concept. One of the versions requires you to make 4x4 cubes while another starts you out with broken lines.

All of these versions of tetris have been around for some time in one version of another. My one criticism of the game is that it does not take into account nor use any of the XBOX's computing power. The game does look good but the lack of any substantial 3D animation is bothersome.

This game is ideal for the following consumers. 1. Those who like puzzle games. Currently this is the only one out there for the Xbox and it is very addictive. 2. For the women (or men) out there who have become xbox widows because their spouses spend hours on it and there's nothing for them to do. This fit me to a tee as my wife didn't get nearly the same level of satisfaction i did from shooting up aliens in Halo (best game on Xbox).

Bottom line is that this is a great old time game with, unfortunately old time graphics. The game though is still lots of fun and should be well-liked by any gamer.

Tetris Worlds was released about a year ago on Xbox, and it had several different varitations of Tetris. Besides classic tetris, there was Hotline Tetris (where you had to line up lins of the same color), fusion tetris, sticky tetris, and many others. However, only classic Tetris worth playing. This disc contains all of those, but the real draw here is Xbox live support. It is fast, which adds even more replay value. While not perfect, this disc contains Tetris, the most addictive game, and online play, at a good price.
PROS:
-Online play
-Cheap price
-Lots of versions
CONS:
-Low-res graphics
-Not worth buying if you don't have Xbox Live

Great for any tetris lover!

I've been playing Tetris for over 13 years now.. I'm amazed that I'm still addicted to it after all of these years. This online rendition of Tetris is fun and addictive, and worth the purchase if you're into Tetris. Casual players not looking for an online challenge would be best picking up a used Gameboy rendition.

The online play is great with a number of different modes to try. My favorite mirrors the old Gameboy link up version (where achieving double, triple, or tetris moves adds lines to your opponent). Tons of fun, and you'd be surprised how lousy you really are at it :).

My only complaints are more annoyances than anything else. The controls could be a little tighter (perhaps it's just the Xbox controller isn't designed for this kind of gameplay). The authors have deviated a bit from standard tetris rules, and allow players to 'bank' an unwanted (or wanted) piece to later. Pieces don't 'lock in' until you're done moving them, taking away a bit of the challenge.

Bottom line: If you're a competitive Tetris player (or hope to be) grab it!

The controls took some getting used to.

Attention former Tetris fans:

The XBox controls will throw you off! The "standard" square of four buttons has been rotated 45 degrees and is a diamond, so your buttons aren't where you are used to them being.

Overall the game is great. I have always loved Tetris, I always will. I enjoy the "interactive" backgrounds. As you progress in levels civilizations rise, jungles grow, and the world develops. I thought it was a great idea. They also turn the "game" of tetris into a life or death struggle.

You have to be able to open the "tetrions" so that the creatures can get off their planet. The way you do this is by playing tetris, which is actually the key to opening them. It is a creative idea to add some story theme to Tetris, but the game itself is enough to keep me playing.

Also there are six variations on a theme in this version, plus the ability to go onto XBox live.

Final Thoughts:

I like Tetris. It is a good challenge anytime. There are some nice features in the XBox version, but I personally didn't need them to buy the game.

And remember Tetris fans, you will have to get used to some new controls. I suggest doing so by playing other games first to get used to the controller, then, once you are used to the controller moving on to the challenges of Tetris.

For new causal gamers who never played Tetris before, this is quite good. However, for those trying to relive memories from the past, I didn't think it was anything special. The graphics are better, but I miss the block-style from before and the old music. The music is all new techno and none of the old. The menus and multi-player seem quite unpolished. I haven't played the single-player form though.
