Packed with a full roster of accomplished martial arts athletes, including UFC light-heavyweight champion Tito Oritz, Ultimate Fighting Championship offers players tons of full-contact fighting and a variety of game modes for depth of gameplay. The game takes you through a grueling career mode as you work your way up the rankings. You will start out battling generic brawlers, each victory bringing you closer to the marquee matchups of real UFC bouts. But you will need to train diligently to reach the championship. The game's music and overall presentation are similar to the UFC telecasts. Whether players are using a custom-made brawler or a real-life UFC athlete in the eight-player or 16-player tournament, arcade, training, or versus modes, the realistic moves make for a compelling and immersive experience. The shader technology of the Xbox allows clear definition of every bead of sweat--as well as the blood and bruising that occur throughout each fight--adding to the game's intense realism.
