Robotech Battlecry... I have been disappointed in the past with other Robotech games (Macross VFX), crappy gameplay and rotton graphics...
But this was worth it. The cel shaded graphics were outstanding, the music clear and crisp, but best of all, most of the original voice actors resumed their roles for this game, giving it not only the look but the feel of the show.
Having the ability to launch a gizillion missiles like the show was cool but to be able to take out battlepods in battleoid mode was a hoot. Woth the [money]

A fine rendition of an Anime favorite.

This iteration of one of the most reproduced licenses in gaming history has finally hit the mark right on the nose. There are some important design features that make this game something of a prodigy. First, all of the objects within the game have a cell-drawn appearance to them, lending to the belief that you are actually playing within the cartoon itself (and not just playing a game). Second is the fluid and readily available ability to change from Battloid to Guardian to Aircraft quickly and at any time. Each form has it's own strengths and weaknesses. I played the Demo version at the San Diego Comic Convention and I can say from personal experience that the gameplay is amazing. Multiplayer is challenging with large arenas. The best part (which I have only read about so far) is the option to unlock various Mechs throughout the game. This includes additional armor and a variety of configurations. I eagerly await my copy of the full game.

As Good As The Series

If you enjoyed the series you will enjoy this game just as much. The attention to detail as well a strong story line makes it a hard game to put down. While the controls can be a challenge to master, the tutorials are a great help. Even if you are not a fan of the series, the graphics and fast paced action makes it an all around great game.

Finally a game worth buying for Robotech fans

If you are a Robotech fan then you have got to buy this game. Even if you aren't but like robot mecha arcade action type games then you are going to love this. The controls takes a few tries to get used to but they have a training level so you can quickly learn the basics. Another nice thing about it is that it allows you to replay each level you have passed in any order you want. This is not like some games were you have to replay every mission in order to get to the one you want. The benefit of this is that there is a lot of replay value to the game. You can even adjust the difficulty for each mission which allows you to make "cheap" missions easier and easy missions harder. They also give you rewards for playing better so that you can unlock special features. This all adds to replay value of this game.

But the best part about the game is that it allows you to change into 3 different forms (a figther jet, a robot, and a hybrid of both) anytime during the game. If you are a fan of Robotech then you know exactly what I'm talking about. Each form has their special abilities and knowing when you use each adds to the fun and strategy of the game. Each mission can be played differently if you use one form more than the other.

There's also some special treats for Robotech fans. I'm sure you'll recognize some of the voices in the game and as you play you can unlock interviews with the voice actors. If you are a Robotech fan then there is no excuse not to get this game. It's also a great game for those of you who aren't. Maybe after this game you will be. Hopefully there will be a part 2 to this game.

For me, this is the most anticipated time ever. Finaly, a Robotech game on a console and believe me the saga series was pretty cool. This game will kick some fanny!
My expectation on this game are high as the sky, i don't have it yet but if it based on the macross saga. It is a winner already!!!!

This game is a great game and all. Definetaly the first and best robetech game ever, but it's replay value is very low. I dont know if it is just me, but i think that this game is over when its over. Tell me what you think of it peeps, later.

The graphics are cartoon. The story mode is for one player although there is a vs. mode. This game is so-so

Cool Game So Far...

Got it today, first day it came out. Good graphics not bad controls (takes a little time to get used to the controls). Very excellent cartoon show refrences, it seems to follow the show closely. Multimedia cut scenes could have been better. After I get more used to the controls in all 3 modes it should be easier. The missions don't seem to be very easy, at least the ones in space. It seems to have lots of playability over and over, lots of stuff to unlock, worth the [money].
