Yah, Yah...I know, I know. I have to give my own game 5 stars, I just have to. The game looks good and it's pretty fun to play. If you've ever wanted to smack down a bunch of Endo's...this is your game. I can't say much more about it...although I'd like to.

Hope you guys have fun with it.... ;)

This game is awesome. I just bought it and I loved it! It was so cool. I got into it by blowing those Endo's to bits. This game is awesome if you like games where you shoot things this is for you!

A gritty little shooter that wants to be so much more

Terminator: Dawn of Fate is a straight forward action/shooter with the storyline serving as a prequel to the first Terminator film. During the course of the game's 10 missions, you'll play as three different characters (including Kyle Reese, Michael Biehn's character from the original film), and even though the characters look different, the gameplay stays the same. To move the game along are some nicely rendered CG cinema sequences and in-game cut scenes, plus a comlink to pick up more objectives in the middle of a mission; all of which are nice little additions, but what hurts Terminator: Dawn of Fate are the overly clunky controls and annoying camera. Especially the fact that depending on which way your character is running, shooting, etc., the controls will change up whenever the camera angle does the same; if all of this would have been corrected this game would be a near must own. The game's graphics have moments of brilliance, but are nothing special really, as is the sound effects. All in all, despite it's flaws, Terminator: Dawn of Fate is a must play for fans of the Terminator films, but action gamers may be better suited to look elsewhere.

It's always the Darkest before Dawn

WOW!!! Terminator: Dawn of Fate is on of the best games for the PS2 console. Time: 2027 A.D. Place: Post-nuclear Los Angeles.Robots from missile defence systems get smart and take over the world. Play as one of three characters, including the star of the movie The Terminator. Use weapons like the AR50 machine pistols, SR70 plasma rifle, canister bombs, C4, plasma batons, etc. I haven't even beaten the first level, but this is a game not to be missed. Fight Endos, plasma frisbees, and the legandary T-800 assasin droid. The game acts as a prequal to the movie, so it helps to have seen it.

If you don't have Terminator, buy it quick and don't miss out!

Great game

This game is great, The Terminator films are two of my favorite movies and im excited for the third sequal Terminator 3: Rise of The Machines thats supposed to come out Summer 2003. This game is a great prequal to the first one, it goes well with the movies and there are no flaws. We finally get to see Perry, who was mentioned by Reese in the first Terminator film when Reese was in the interrogation room being questioned. The only thing I dont like is the controls. on PS2, its very hard to manage and sometimes it could cost you energy, I'm it's just as hard to control on Xbox too. But other than that..its a great game and I do recommend it, especially to people who are big fans of the movie.

I love the Terminator movies, but I gotta be honest with you,not this game .... Here's why:

1)Obnoxious camera, in conjunction with the terrible movement controls. I OFTEN found myself getting lost/disorientated/stuck.

2)Not enough outdoor levels. Instead, you run around bases, hotels, parking lots, asylums, etc. You end up feeling very claustrophobic by the 3rd level or so.

3)Speaking of which, there are only 10 levels.

4)There are three characters to play as, but it's not like you get to pick one of the three characters before entering the next level. One mission you may be Kyle Reese, the next you might be some gun-toting female.

(5) If there is one enemy that you will learn to hate REAL fast, it's those annoying flying saucers that knock you on your back when they attack. And then you get up, and unless you destroy it "muy pronto" you're going to get knocked down AGAIN.

(6)I've only seen/fought one T-800 in the game. But you have your Pulsed Plasma Rifle in the 40 Watt range, right? Remember how easily the Resistance killed T-800's in the future scene in Terminator 2? No such thing here. You pump umpteen thousand rounds into this T-800 and he finally softens up. Then you pump another umpteen thousand rounds into him only to saw him in half. But that upper half is still alive, so, Plasma Rifle in hand, you pump another umpteen thousand rounds into him. Goodness, you'd think you were shooting a wimpy .22 or something. It was after that battle that I said, "Forget it, this game isn't worth my time."

(7) You don't get to ride around in vehicles. (But Keep in mind that I stopped at level 7 of 10, so I'm not sure about 8,9, or 10, but I doubt it.)

(8) Easy mode is too hard.

(9) No BIG battles, like the one at the start of T2. Instead, you're reduced to "going-it-alone" missions with occasional run-ins with stupid allies.

(10) And worst of all, this game just simply isn't fun. It's frustrating. Believe me, I tried to like it, but it never happened. You can spend your money on something better than this (like the Terminator films on DVD special editions if you don't have them already).

Here are a couple Terminator game alternatives you might want to consider: Skynet, Terminator 2029,(these latter two were made by Bethesda for the PC, if I remember correctly),various Terminator games for the Gameboy, NES, SNES, and Arcade.

The only good parts about this game are the FMV's, but I'd rather watch the movies than this piece of garbage any day.

Good but not Great

I give this game 4 Stars. It is pretty fun but not great. The Camera movements can get confusing and I sometimes get lost and lose control of the Character. I started playing it yesterday and am half way through it so it isn't too hard. I guess I'll have to try the hard levels next after I beat it. I am a fan of the movies and I can't wait for the third one to come out this summer so this game nice to see. I think that fans of Terminator would enjoy this game!!

Incredibly Disappointing

I can't believe I just blew [alot of money]on this. Terrible game. Like so many games with big movie titles, they just use the title to sell the game. They put no effort into making a good game....Very disorienting,...
