I've played Halo and Grand Theft Auto, but I am really addicted to this version of Turok!! I give it the full 5 stars!! I haven't touched any other game since I got this one. It is really challenging, fun, and has amazing graphics. The game gets better as you move to higher levels. They really put some detail in this game. When's the next version coming out? Sign me up!!

Haven't played, but looks AWSOME!

although it isnt out yet, the game looks great. Nice graphics, cool guns, and nice environments. As far as gameplay goes, it looks great. The other Turok games were alright, not that great of graphics and gameplay, but now that it is brought to better systems and is upgraded a lot, this game should be great. I love any kind of fps games. I am really looking forward to playing this game. If anyone else is as crazy for fps games as i am, then consider getting this game.

I think that this game is a exellent game to buy. but maybey it is a smaet idea not to let youngen's play. it is relly cool how you can get the cheats to get every weapon make it so that you can't die and that badies can't see you. it is one of the hardest games that i have ever played in my life. CATION DO NOT PLAY WITH OUT A MEMERY CARD. the flying levels are the hardest of all exept of the last level where you have to kill a t. Rex. i have only succsefly done this once. on the flying levels one of my friends spend's more time loading then playing(not that it is that hard.) I hope that you spend the time and money buying this game for have spent the time writting this reveiw. Reveiwed by JAMES BOURKE

This game rocks! I grew up playing the origionals and this game is a superb sequel. The graphics are amazing. You don't just interact with the jungle, the jungle interacts with you! You get to see the herbivores live in their habitat the way they would in reality. It is just an amazing and amazingly fun game. Buy it right away!

Turok is a hot game. You go through tons of levels facing raptors and dinosaurs with guns.Watch out 4 the snipers! The game also has a great varity of weapons. At some points this game gets fustrating because a level could last up to a half hour and if u die at the end u have to start over. but in other cases this game is great.

AWESOME TOO

I too cannot believe the poor ratings of this game. Yes, it is better than Medal of Honor (MOH) because of 3 reasons. (1) The weapons: the various types of attack are many ---> mini-gun, flame thrower, Tek bow, quad-barrel shot gun, anti-gravity gun, anto-matter cube, spider mine, axe, many more to list. I have run out of ammo in MOH, and you cannot do anything but die. That is, you cannot use a battle axe and keep fighting like in Turok... which brings me to reason (2) the setting: In MOH it seems like you are forced to go stealth through the whole game. I felt like I could not be the agressor. In Turok, you can choose to go stealth or you can jump right in the middle of a fight (you against many) and, for example, pop off your anti gravity gun to knock those around you to the ground and battle axe their heads off as they are getting off the ground. Finally (3): the AI is better in Turok. When the time comes when you have allies fighting at your side, you can actually see your AI allies do the fighting with random actions. I have even sat back (hiding) and watched the battle rage one. The AI allies in MOH are only "virtually" there, they only perform their operations in sequence. Yes both games are fun, 5 Stars, but I feel as though Turok has the edge. My favorite part about Turok is shooting the bad guys with the poison arrows and watching them Yak.

Partly a dino game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This game has some of the best graphics of any PS2 game that I've ever played. The flying levels were pretty hard (except the beginning). This review sure has a silly name... there ARE plenty of dinosaurs except on chapter 5 and the above-a-canyon city (actually, there's a rocket launcher-backed Ankylosaurus and a Styracosaurus, but that's it). If you ever hear a rumbling sound, look out below! What I mean is, a loud noise that sounds like crashing rocks may fall on you. Sometimes you get bored with the weapons... in certain levels, I either wanted to shoot something that you didn't have to back up a bit before shooting or throwing , like the grenades and rocket launcher. Explosive arrows also count, and be careful to be a slight distance from a wall or enemy (you get hurt). This game is also extremely bloody and gory. And not just that, be warned when you hit an enemy (don't worry about dinosaurs and animals) with a poison arrow, don't be too shocked if they toss thier cookies (or whatever they ate... looks pretty icky). If you don't know what I mean, they either barf about 3 times or grab their necks and die. The big slegs (that's what they're called) puke 4 times, you have to hit them again, puke 4 times, hit them one more time, they puke 3 times and then die. Eeeeeeeew! Actually, it's kind of funny. Here's a gross laugh: it's easy to shoot the sleg's arms, legs or heads off! The funniest thing would be to use a regular arrow and hit a burly smaller sleg's helmet off if you aim well! Overall, great game, and it's good if you don't mind blood and gore.

Could've been better..........

Turok: Evolution fails to break the mold. In fact, it often fails to fill the mold of its predecessors. Don't get me wrong, if all you want is your standard FPS plus a few dinosaurs and new foes to blast into chunky bits this should fulfill your appetite. Unfortunately, after all the hype, I was looking for something a lot more in depth to spend my [money] on. A few of the glaring problems are:
1) You cannot custom config your controls- you are stuck with one of two defaults, neither of which is very intuitive
2) Collision detection [is bad]- it's often easier to fall down a drop (and take damage!) than to actually hit the ladders to climb back down- jumping is no treat either
3) Settings don't save- you have to type in your cheat codes and turn on auto aim every time you start the game. Now why, when you have an on screen cheat menu can you not save these after typing them in the first time? Take a hint from Medal of Honor: Frontline and get with the program.
4) Plot- where is it? With games out there like Red Faction, Deus Ex, Medal of Honor etc.. There's just no excuse for repetitive mission objectives. (like rescue so and so, kill everything, etc..)
5) Pteredon flight- great idea, but if you wanted it to be fun, shouldn't it handle a little better than a flying brick?
6) Taking away the cerebral bore is unforgivable- replacing it with a multi shot of smaller borers is no substitute for the awe inspiring fear you could instill with the original. (some of my multiplayer foes still have nightmares)

Taking all this into account it may seem like Turok: Evolution has no redeeming attributes, which isn't quite true. You do get to use the tek bow, which is always fun for popping enemies a mile away with exploding arrows. You can also count on a good amount of total carnage and the occasional enemy getting the drop on you (though nowhere near as many as in the first games). All in all, it's not a bad game, but it could have been much, much, better, especially when you consider this is Turok's first appearance on a next gen platform and the amount of hype that's been spread around. This is a game that I probably should have rented first, and will most likely trade in as soon as I've beaten it.
