Good, but not good enough

OK. First off. The game was alright, but not as good as Turok 2 for N64. You have so many missions too do in TE, but they are very short. In Turok 2, they gave you like 7 missions, but they lasted a long time. The weapons in TE are good, but again the weapons in Turok 2 were better. I would advise you to just rent the game and not buy it. I bought it and I wish I wouldn't have. Just my advice.

THIS GAME IS VERY FUN, BUT YOU HAVE TO WATCH OUT FOR CERTAIN DINOSAURS. AND YOU GET TIGHT WEAPONS, TO BLOW THEIR HEADS OFF WITH.

Worth every STAR! BEST CHALLENGE EVER!

First off, I would like to start off by stating that I have not completed Turok E. yet. I have just rescued the Great father in chapter 5 and completed the level. And that alone was one HECK of a challenge.

I cannot believe some of the bad reviews on this game? This game thus far has been THE MOST challenging FPS that I have played to date. MOH and Max Paine, 007 AUF, don't even compare to Turok Evolution.

The graphics are VERY GOOD, the AI in the game, starts off slow. But, I believe that this is the way the developer wanted it. You will notice the increase in the AI starting in chapter 3. And believe me by chapter 5 you WILL SEE a dramatic change in the AI.

You should definitely take these reviews of renting the game and returning it the same day because it was poor, with a grain of salt. I was a renter of this game and could'nt put it down. Two days after I returned the rental, I went out and purchased the game. This game IS WORTH EVERY DOLLAR!

The controls of this game are relatively easy. Setting horizontal and vertical control speeds, and most importantly the invert look function, to your personal preference. Is the most important function in any FPS game. If you can control the other games mentioned above. You will have NO problem with Turok E. Controlling the flying levels is also very easy. The L1 and L2 buttons also help you turn better. Although I hardly had to use them at all. You should also enjoy the machine gun booster balloons. AWESOME! My feelings are that the flying levels add depth to the game and are a definite quality addition.

You just have got to laugh at the graphic reviews. Some even making comparisions to the N64 and PS1. One word, can clear this up. BULL!

Now let's talk save points. This game saves at the end of EVERY sub-level. Some of the sub-levels are rather lengthy. This probably frustrates some players. Me, on the other hand, LOVE the challenge/action/adventure of this game. Yes, I like getting my MONEY'S WORTH from a game.

I can't comment on the multi-player mode yet because I'm having to much fun with the FPS part of the game.

Turok Evolution sets itself apart from other FPS just from the sheer delight of graphics/adventure and challenge. I find it very hard to get board with this aspect of the game. And I just love the weapons in this game. Sniping with the tek-bow is one of my favorites. Although chapter 5 doesn't allow much time for sniping. If you get my drift? hint: AI will have you thinking major strategy.

I hope you found this review helpful. If you want an experience in a FPS game, and one of the best challenges to date. THIS IS THE GAME!

PS. All other games mentioned I have beaten. So when I say that TUROK E. is a better FPS than them. IT'S THE TRUTH.

I will play it again

I bought 2 First Person Shooters back in December 2002 for the first time FPS play: Turok and Medal of Honor- Frontline (MoH). I could not play them simultaneously because the controls are different. I played Turok first and beat it in about 30 days. Then I played MoH and beat it in about 30 days. The result is I am selling MoH and keeping Turok to play it through once or twice more. The Theme/Story line of MoH cannot be beaten, but Turok's jungle + sci-fi setting and HUGE array of weaponry make this better than MoH. Your allies that show up on a few levels are actually helpful. You can see them do their part in assisting you. I give Turok and MoH 5 Stars, but I rate Turok a little higher than MoH.

a 4-star game.

Its a good game, dont get me wrong but, i prefer the old turok 2 for N64, more weapons ans long lasting 7 levels for turok 2.

TE is good with its missions but its too quick, loads of gore, and blood. LOVE THE SNIPING from the tech-bow and sniper!
on TE, you see all these shotgun bullets and you dont get the shotgun until the next level!

I bought the game, it was good, but since its soooooo many levels you get bored quickly,

multiplayer is great! but like 3 out of 10 weapons you can kill everyone within a second!

up to you..... Buy it or Rent it? im sure its a cheap game now so dont be a tight spender go now and buy it!

EXCELLENT!!!

I LOVE THIS GAME, IT'S JUST SO BRUTAL ON DINOSAURS AND REPTILE ARMIES (MUTANT LIZARDS)!!! THE GAMEPLAY IS SO HEART-STOPPING, THE STORY IS JUST FANTASTIC AND THE WEAPONS ARE JUST TOTALLY AWSOME!! THE MULT-PLAYER IS UNLIKE ANY YOU'VE EVER SEEN (OR IN THIS CASE PLAYED)!!! THE LEVELS ARE OUTSTANDING, THE GRAPHICS ARE EXCELLENT, MAKE THAT PERFECT!!! THE LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY IS PROBABLY HARD, WHICH IS WHAT I LIKE ABOUT IT, AND I'VE COMPLETED THE GAME!!! BUY THIS IF YOU HAVE GTA3, OR GTA:SA OR SNAP YOUR GTA:VICE CITY DISC AND REPLACE IT WITH THIS ONE, OR IF YOUR JUST BORED OR ALL YOUR GAMES SUCK JUST SO LIKE REALLY BAD OR YOU JUST LIKE BUYING OR COLLECTING VIDEO GAMES!!! MUST BUY!!

THANKS FOR READING!!!

This game has great sound effects, scenary, and the plot is awsome! So many surprises! You never know what will happen next, or what will appear! This is the best Turok game ever made! If you like action, adventure, dinosaurs, guns, and/or a challenge, you MUST order this game. Trust me, you don't want to turn down this game. A game like this only comes once in a lifetime!

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!

I thought this game would be awesome judging from the screens and movies that I had seen online. I rented before buying and was instantly sorry for wasting just $5 on this game!
The graphics are bland and cartoonish...the graphics in Turok 2 were far more impressive (even though the frame-rate was problematic). The game suffers from HORRIBLE pop-up...grass will suddenly appear just 3 or 4 feet in front of you. The characters in the game are lacking in detail and the AI is lousy.
The weapons are cool, but after watching the animations one or two times they become old. Overall, I was supremely disappointed with this game. I have been a fan of the Turok series from the beginning and I am a big fan of the PS2. However, this game looks like a rushed product that does not tap the full power of the PS2. Don't waste [your money.]

Remember when dinosaurs were cool

While every other kid re-enacted GI Joe battles on their front lawns, I played with my little plastic dinosaurs. Fast forward to present day, and dinosaurs are more popular than ever. But is it cool to like dinosaurs now...hardly. The Jurassic Park sequels? Sports teams with cool dino-names? Barney??? And now this affront to the video game world. Thank god, I only rented it (free rental at that, and I'm still mad). This cumbersome FPS has no appeal whatsoever. Rent it only if you must, but for god sakes don't shell out fifty bucks for this.

Turok-Good if there is nothing else

Overall I liked Turok but I did have some problems with it-one was namely the the flying. The controls for flying are easy to master but the thing reacts very slowly. When you fly you are no longer first person and there are many times when flying through caves and canyons that your view of your guy gets blocked by the wall or ceiling and then you go splat! But that would be my only real complaint of this game-too much flying! The graphics are sweet and the first person controls are easy to master. There are plenty of great weapons to use and some neat little twists and turns.
