I like this game so much. Just be warned that when you play it the first time it becomes really addictive! I like the life game play, but those sim people are so dang dumb! They have a toilet, they have a basket ball hoop and a wide screen TV but what do they do? Stand around and feel depressed and yell at you to give them stuff! Any ways this game is really good!

The sims is an excellent game

The sims is a unique and fun game which you would probanly love. You can create a person and move them into a house. This game allows you to control the lives of a number of Sims and direct their daily interactions down to very minute detail. This is a really great game and you'll have hours and hours of fun.I have some other sim games and I love them all! The sims is such a fun game to play. You can't lose or win. It's like real life. You get to choose what your sims moods are and what they're appearance will look like. You can even create a sim that looks like yourself and control your own life in the sims. This game is the coolest game I have ever boughten.

At the risk of sounding repetitive....

This game is great! It nurtures the control freak within. Some tips for newbies:
Some reviewers are complaining that sims will sometimes end up peeing on the floor, even if they have toilets. That's not true if you click on the toilet and select "use" (Just make sure they flush if you didn't give them too many "neat" points, or the toilet will get clogged. It's the same deal there, if they didn't flush, "flush" will be one of the options the next time you click on it.)
Get a maid and gardener first thing, it's really not that expensive and it saves lots of time.
Make your sims paint a lot. They have fun, their creativity goes up, and the more creative they become, the more money they bring in by selling paintings. Other non-conventional ways of money making include buying and selling artwork (the only things that can INCREASE in value) or getting House Party and buying the the slot machine (odds of winning 1:10; the less fun your sim is having, the better your odds.)
A fun way to get quick cash if "rosebud" doesn't work is to create a sim that you don't care about, then have that sim fall in love with marry another sim (the one you DO care about.) The sim you DO care about will then be about 20,000 simoleons richer. Then build a pool. Make the sim you don't care about get in, then remove the ladder. The sim in the pool will be unable to get out and will eventually drown. You can then sell their tombstone for 5 simoleons, (but if you have moral misgivings, the sims will occasionally stop by the stone to mourn, which brings down the Social bar, and there is a chance every night that the sim will rise at midnight and haunt the house!)
Trees, hedges and topiaries don't need to be watered, so just fill your garden with those things instead of flowers and you won't need to hire a gardener.
If you get the expansion packs, install them in the order that they were released.

The main problem with this game is that there really aren't enough house design options or skins to express your creativity. Happily there there are expansion packs and downloads to help you.

Good Game and worth buying.

I bought this a few months ago, and my daughter and I are addicted. Whenever her friends come over, they want to play, too. The Livin' Large is a good add-on (a bit pricey for what you get), which gives you a lot of additional things to buy (including some retro-style furniture and clothing). Three things I don't like: 1. Neighborhood is too small thus limiting the number of "Friends". 2. I wish you could take 100% control of them if you want without them going off to do something while you're working with another Sim. 3. Going to the bathroom can take 30 minutes! There are some things that just take forever to do.

All in all, a good game and disappointment is not a problem.

You are the creator!

This game lets you be the creator of your very own SIM neighborhood! You make the people and their personalities, and their houses along with what goes in them. You pick the SIMS jobs, and what they cook, and when they go to the bathroom, and how they live their lives! You can decide what furniture your SIMS have in their house and you can put in ANYTHING you want. To make this game even MORE realistic, buy ALL the expansion packs, and this would be the ULTIMATE simulator ever made!! Don't even sample first. Buy it now!! You'll like it!!

i think macs are really cool and better than windows computers and i was not wrong. The only problem with mac computers is that because windows is a more popular platform i have had trouble trying to find good games for it. i kept looking for good mac games and eventually i found this. The most addictive game ever on mac!! i bought it and i was not dissapointed. I have spent so many hours on this game and i play it a lot. I think they should release sims 2 on mac too because mac is the best

Aack, I can't stop!

This is a very addictive game. It is the most fun you can have with a computer. I have played SimCity which I thought was great, but The Sims just blows everything else out of the water. The Sims are much more interesting than the real people in my life. The game was even named by Entertainment Weekly as the best reason to lose your job. Hey, a few more late nights with my Sims, and I might not be able to stay awake at work anymore.

Why I like this Game

First of all, The Sims is a great game. You can be a engineerer, builder, and basically anything you want. Personally, I like to use money cheats in games, and this one has some. I like how you can pick furniture and lots and make a miserable life for your sims or not.

very fun at first
