This game is perfect for strategy. You are in full control of the Empire you are building. The graphics are realistic. The people look just like real people. There are tons of ways to win. Age of Empires is a must buy!

Best game in the world

Age of Empires is on of the best games in the world. You can make your very own Roman city. Your goal is to defeat other cities using your military that you made. There are many other ways you can win. Age of Empires is a lot like Sim City but better. Try other reviews. If you think it will be a good game to have buy it or you can try to find the demo Age of Empires and try it out before you buy it.

A great game that won't lose it's appeal

I have had AOE for over a year now, and it is still the only computer game I ever play. I'm not going to spend an hour explaining what you can do with this game, because from what you've read from the other reviews, it would be redundant. But, even if AOE isn't as complicated and doesn't have the 3D graphics, when compared to the Sims in hours of fun and price, who wouldn't want a game that's just if not more fun and $30-$40 less expensive? Buy it now, you won't regret it! (Even though it IS a Microsoft game)

FANTASTIC

While the graphics suffer from 2 dementia, the game is awsome. Not as deep as Civilization, but a joy to play. The multiplayer is where AoE shines. Highly recommended

Simulator Games.... This is exciting... more than others...

All these simulator games continue to come out but only one will remain less complicated. I called that Age of Empires. Don't know anything about the past of conquering and empires? Easy then. All you have to do for one easy game is attack the Greek if your the Egyptians and take over there government. Usually it is supposed to take a while and if you gain more points then the Greek, you'll be fine. Also you can play with a friend or with someone you don't know by using Zone.com from MSN, aka Microsoft. You can also do campaigns. Another thing you can do is be the Persians, Mongols, Chinese, Greek, Egyptian, Korean, even more or just create your own tribe and call it anything you want. The game isn't tough and for people like me who like the Conquering age, you'll like this game. Isn't like Civilization and Casear games which are complicated. So go ahead and buy Age of Empires today.
WARNING: Age of Mythology is pretty useless. The Gods make no sense. Most of the game is made up rather than Age of Empires. Try the expansion packs if you want more action from a game maker like Microsoft Games...

I think that this was a great game. I discovered this game through the demo. These graphics surprised me and they are GREAT! I tried it out on my new computer and they just amazed me. These graphics were certainly one of the best, especially at the time it was made.

Great Game!

This game is alot of fun to play online. For those of you who dont know the basic Age of Empires idea, what you do is you build civilizations based on ancient civilization from the past (Persians, Egyptions, etc). After you have built your civilization you you attack your opponents civilization. There are two basic types of games for those of you who dont know, Random Map (RM) and Death Match (DM). In RM you start out with a limited supply of resources and work your way up. In DM you start out with a huge supply of resources then just get right to the battle. Just buy this game, it is great!

A Great Figure it out game

Age of the Empires is a great game that always challenges your skills as a gamer. You can't use petty cheat codes and gaming logic in this game. You have to use your brain (I know using your brain is scary at first, but don't worry, this game will fix that). A must must for all intelligent (laymen's terms=smart) gamers.

Great Game But Could Have Included Other Empires As Well

This is a great game, but it made me wonder why it excluded the Empires of the Americas, like the Aztecs, Mayans, or Incas
