Fun but Naughty Dog Let Out Some Things!!!

You can only save this game every once and a while. Also you only get passwords every once and a while. ( Of coarse you get stuck on the levels with no passwords or save points. ) Also I hate running from the boulders. ALL YOU DO IS RUN. The object is to get to the end of each level. There are bosses along the way. They seem to be too easy or too hard. ( It figures.) I think you should get Crash 2, Crash 3, or Crash Team Racing. Those games are MUCH BETTER.

Neat Naughty Dog!

Graphics: 8/10 - These are often stunning but at times a bit murky. Mostly they are really fabulous to look at, though, in every scene the makers of Crash have put in a lot of effort.

Sound: 7/10 - The animals could've made some more sounds but the creatures that talk do it clearly and well. Mostly the score is playing in the background so there isn't much sound to be heard.

Value: 9/10 - Value for money indeed! Once you've finished, you'll want to start all over again!

Overall: 8/10 - Great game with an excellent reputation. Crash 2 and 3 surpass it slightly, but this is still an easy-on-the-brain, fun and original idea.

The Coming of one of the greatest mascots to hit video games

Crash Bandicoot. It came out of nowhere, like a force of nature it rumbled and made it's mark on the video game industry, and revolutionized the plat-former game subgenre forever. With it's crips beautiful flawless graphics to it's incredible tight gameplay, it was a platformers dream. And Possibly the most fun in-depth game up until then. Now 5 years since it's been, it still remains, (if not for me) one of the most memorable, and feel-good games. The games strurture is a rather simple one, Crash must travle and wade through 3 islands to rescue his girl freind-Twana from the clutches of Dr. Neo Cortex (hpm...sounds a bit like Mario, anyways..) What always stuck out about this first game in this future triology was that it had a strong sense of atmosphere to it...more athuentic than any of it's upcoming sequels. Was it becasue the makers stuck more to coming up with more varied gameplay ...possibly. Not a bad thing at all, which is one of the things that made the sequels better. While Crash Bandicoot can be a very enjoyable experience, it can be seen today as something along the lines of "out-dated". The level structures have a lot of depth--which makes for considerable replay value, but compared to it's sequels, their almost childlike. Sure the levels vary , but advancments in game-pay was not this instalments strength. Still the game is fun as hell, and with it's island-jumping structure ,makes it feel your in more of an adventure than the other games do. And while the game make look kiddy and cheerful, this first instalment has a genuine rotten underbelly to it as you venture father into the game, it has a considerable dark quality to it as you get to more advanced levels. If anything the 3rd game "Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped" has the most lightest tone. I would label the first games atmopshere as more of a "grey" while the second game would be a "black" natuarlly "Cortex Strikes Back" has the darkest tone. And the 3rd "white"-being the rousing conclusion, sort of like a movie triolgy.

I thought that this was an excelent game. I found it was easy to follow and the levels where thrilling, they got more and more difficult as you went allong. My favourie level was HOG WILD I got a gem on that. I found it really annoying in the levels when you got all the boxes and then you find out that there was a secret passegway and you have missed something like eight boxes. Over all it has been my favourite playstation game and now I am moving on to crash Bandicoot 2.

One of My Favorite Games on the PSX

Crash Bandicoot is one of my oldest games on my oldest system, the Playstation. Still, I have never grown tired of playing levels, which used to be challenges that now I pass with a breeze. The levels are awe inspiring. Water is flowing without a crack, the jungle is incredibly lush, and the characters have no mistakes from their hair to their sneakers. Story is interesting too-you have to save Crash's girlfriend Tawna from Dr. Neo Cortex. The only disadvantage is the limited controls-jump and spin. This game brought two sequels and two other games that involve racing and mini games. No wonder.

Takes skill

A fun game that takes some skill the higher up you get (I guess most games are like that). After you have to start from the beginning several times the first few boards get really dull -- you can almost run through them from memory. I like the game too because Crash is just funny to watch.

A Really Cool Game

Crash Bandicoot 2 was my first Playstation game. When I was seven, I was very frustrated with it. A year or so later, I decided to try again, I loved it so much I bought the first one(which to me was even more of a challenge). When the 3rd one came out I bought it too. I've rented CTR and just bought THE WRATH OF CORTEX. I'm a big Crash lover, but the first one's my favorite. It's challenging and fun.

Fun, like other Crash Games...

I recently obtained Crash 1. I already had Crash 2, Crash Team Racing(CTR), Crash Bash, and Wrath of Cortex (PS2). I began playing the game, and noticed only one negative thing. You cannot save the game unless you are in one of the special bonus levels (which you can get to only if you collect three of the little cards with the bear on them- I do not know what those are called.). Other than that, the game is challenging and fun. Most gamers should enjoy it, whether they are hard-core gamers or not.
