Medievil 1 is much better.

2 Rating: 2, Useful: 0 / 0

The 360 turning view in this game is just as bad as the first one. If you are standing next to a wall or tall object, the turning view gets messed up bad. You can turn your view with the L and R buttons but the game itself often turns your view automatically in a wrong direction which is really annoying. After you go thru a doorway you find yourself facing the opposite direction. When you make a jump the game will sometimes turn the view on you in the middle of the jump which makes Dan fall to his death. You have to fight the auto turning with the R and L buttons which subtracts from the enjoyment of playing.
In the first one you could always replay the early levels to fill up on life. In Medievil 2 you cannot. The life fountains are gone for good once you use them and the life bottles do less and less. In Medievil 2 The missions are longer and more tedious. They are more ridiculous. It is virtually impossible to figure out what you have to do in many of the missions without a complete walkthrough. It is virtually impossible to beat this game without using the cheats menu because otherwise the game doesn't give you enough life to survive. The monsters in this one are harder to hit and it takes more hits to kill them. In ther first one Dan had a deep voice, in this one Dan has a higher pitched whiny voice which is also annoying.
Medievil 1 is a great game that is fun to play. Medievil 2 is a tedious game that is only fun to play if you have the cheats menu. To get the cheats menu, first pause the game, then hold L2 the whole time while you punch the buttons in the following order: (TCT CCT LCU DRC LLT RCL LTC DCCR) Those are abreviations for Up, Right, Down, Left, Circle, and Triangle. Then cheats will appear at the bottom of the paused menu, then you can give yourself infinite life.

I love Gothic games

There are a few ups and downs to the game such as rotation of the camera angle and it isn't quite as believable as the first game, but still good in many ways. I understand how many gamers are confused about the ending leaving a cliffhanger. Well here is a secret that some of you may not know: you'll witness a happy ending between Dan and Kiya if you manage to win the game by missing at least one chalace. Getting them all haves the gamer witnessing the cliffhanger. I just wish they would have put it the other way around. I recommend this game to any horror/gothic fan.

really disappointing

Medievil 2. I imangined this to be as good as its prolouge. Sadly, the serial fell from awesome to bad. The game lacks a good story. Also, they changed almost every single voice is changed from MediEvil 1. However, if you have NEVER played MediEvil number 1, the game probally won't be as bad.

I would reccomend the first game. I almost wonder if the same COMPANY made it.

The controls are crisp the speed is good and the graphics rock. Compter AI is also good. Deffinately worth a few dollars.

Great games for all ages. The main character is very funny and brings alot of humor to a somewhat "scary" game. Many levels with each new one more challenging. Overall- best game for psx

Another solid performance!

Picking up where the first left off once again we join the fight. I haven't gotten very far in this game but I can see that it is pretty much like the first. Decent graphics and humor surround you and a nice plot line is unfolding. Definately worth the bargain price.

Talk to the Hand

I will only say this; it is bizarre for a mom to stay in her son's room for 4 hours watching a video game. This game is great. I will watch my son play this game for the graphics, the baroque implications, and because it is the funniest thing to see a hand with a head on it get thrown out the window by a terribly evil little girl, all in fun, laugh sounds included.
For anyone who loves bathroom humor, one scene uses an old man who farts every 10 seconds, and no one gets hurt.
It is tongue in cheek with the challenge to make a player think as to how do I get out of this?
Great game.
I love when my child uses his brain on a rainy day and everyone watching is entertained. Great plus, when the head has to run around the game, he lifts his pinky and thumb every other step so high that I ask myself,"who did this with his own hand to make it so real and so funny?"
This game is wonderfully entertaining for any age, because one must really think to get out of certain predicaments, and because the graphics are like the best of any comic book. Someone must have really been in a good mood when they made this one.

Fun game, good story, bad play control!

Welcome to 18th century England where Lord Palethorn has found part of an ancient book of sorcery (which should look kinda familiar) and basically manages to repopulate the world with zombies and other critters as he does the "go off and rule the world" thing.

Sir Dan wakes up in a museum with only his own detachable arm as a weapon (to start off with, he finds a sword PDQ) and goes off to fight evil, finding some interesting characters, weapons and puzzles along the way!

This game has some cool elements, like being to pop your head off, stick it on a crawling hand, and basically run around like "Thing" from the Adam's Family. It also has a neat storyline and, of course, hacking and slashing is always a blast...

The play control needed a little help, however.

The camera angles kinda drive you nuts, and life is hard to come by! Some of the bosses are a little hard to kill, and when you go to the next level, your little, battered life-meter is really frustrating as you get wasted by EVERYTHING. Sometimes it's best to make sure you save between levels... them beat the level your on again with fewer accidents.

Also, if you make too many misjumps (which is easy to do), every one costs you an entire bar of life... the green smoke only provides about 200 points of recovery... then it goes bye-bye. If you make a lot of mistakes in a certain area, you'll pay for it later!

Cool game, had a lot of fun with it, looking forward to Midieval III should they decide to make one(Sir Dan in the future with a light-saber or something might be kinda cool!), I just hope they make the camera angles friendlier!
