The best puzzle game for the PS (or maybe all systems)

Puzzle fighter is by far the best puzzle game for the playstation. For 1-2 players (preferably 2), this game is very quick paced. The only downfall is that the handicap is not very strong, and experts will easily defeat novices on any handicap. A must have, even if you don't like puzzle games!

Super Puzzle Fighter II...this simple, amusing, Tetris-esque puzzle game with a plethora of Capcom characters is a must-have for all gamers. The intensive two player battles with your friends and enemies will keep you enthralled and craving for more. Don't get me wrong, single-player mode is entertaining enough, but to see the look of pure, unequivocal horror in the eyes of your opponent as he watches 99 gem blocks of death utterly annihilate his feeble attempt at redemption...to forever live with the knowledge that he was defeated by a person who only used their feet..it's priceless. You know who you are.

This game is perfect for playing yourself or with friends. It is the only game I have ever owned where I didn't mind sitting back and watching other people play and not need to play it myself! I am so kicking myself for selling it with my original ps.

This game got so contagious that within a month we were holding 30 person tournaments in my dorm's hallway - boys and girls playing. It is among the best, crispest, and deepest puzzle games one can find... I picked up a few copies of it when it was cheap because I knew this was a game I'd want to preserve for a long time - my original copy got played so long that the audio tracks started to burn out (over 100 hours, at least)

If you can find it, and are a fan of puzzle games, please check it out.. Be sure to get the GBA version.

I'd love to see a Ps2 version of this game....

I've only met a few people that know this game but the few people I know love it. I actually had to buy a psone just to play this game since my ps2slim wouldnt play it but I don't regret it. It's fairly easy to learn and the way we play makes it so there's no one best person, different playing styles makes it so everyone beats another person sometimes. hard to master.

My favorite game of all time! I'm not the type of person to play video games much but I love this one. Got a Ps2 just to play it. It's like tetris except u get to kick some a**.

It's like tetris, but with punching. Of course, growing up in my house, tetris often did come with punching, and name calling, and the occasional thrown controller. Ah, the memories...where was I? This game combines the best elements of puzzles and fighting and puts you head to head against other players. The single player mode is fun, but the games truly shines when you're trying to beat a friend into bejewelled submission. combine like colored gems into power gems and strings and then use the breaker gem to shatter them all. your nemesis will then have a butt load of gems dropped on him that can't be broken for a set number of turn. your fighter will also perform an attack on the opposing character. the game is fast paced and can change drastically with only a few gems. I love it.

Playing this game is actually not so different from a regular RPG game--you get stronger and smarter until the end when you are super good in this game. When I first started playing I was a real novice but after having a win/lose ratio of 1/20 for a month I became an expert. The game is fun because you have to keep playing to get "prizes" to enhance the little functions of the game. After having become a master, however, I started to lose interest in this game. The only downfall of this game is that it doesn't make you want to keep playing.
