A little disapointing!

After playing SF1 and SF2 I was really looking forward to another instalation to an awesome series. I also thought it was a crock when they postponed the game, but oh well. I was ready for another killer game. I was somewhat disapointed.

To illustrate, I thought the strongest points of games 1 and 2 were the opening few levels, there was a great atmosphere in those games that was astounding. The first level in SF3 left me VERY dissapointed. The fist level should be the best, because it should make you want to play it all the more. Killing the first guy in stealth was fun, but the rest of the level was boring and had no point. It would have been more fun had you been able to snipe all the guys off in the different rooms than killing one and the rest of the 15-20 guys stand there and shoot at you. Indeed, the first levels are actually, to me, a downfall of the games as I felt myself pushing myself through the first number of levels.

In addition, I played this game for an estimation of 5-6 hours, and conquered it with ease. It was entirely to short and almost too easy. And a great downfall is there was no one level that I just had to go and play again, no great experience that was unique to the game. My actual only decent experience came by accident, when I didn't pick up a gun I needed to kill the final person, and by accident, with an HK-5, killed the finail person, to conquer the game. The final level is not the best level in the game. I really don't know what level is that great.

Also in this game there are no bosses, and no variety in how they make you kill the persons. I really missed the bosses placed throughout the game, as was so brilliantly done in the first and second.

In conclusion, I was somewhat dissapointed with this game. I think they will continue the franchise on the PS2, but I hope it is better than this one. So, if your asking me if you should buy this game, yes definately, it still is a good gaming experience but, if your looking for the wonderful layout of the first two games, you won't find it here, but, maybe, I'm just asking too much.

Get the Game, Live the game!

I have both one and two,and all I can say is WOW! I can't wait for #3! One day on my day off I wanted to see if I could sneak into the builden in stealth mode, useing some stuff I picked up from the game, needless to say I will just leave that to Gabe and solid snake,it don't work in real life but it was fun(no guns were used, just brains).

Coruption, murder, intregue, and alot of confusion!!!!!!!!

As Syphon Filter fans, I'm sure that we have all played and beaten the second game. I thought that Vince Hadden would have had a more daring scheme for Gabe and Lian rather that holding Congressional meetings. While the back story that you get to play is exiting and somewhat challenging it is too bad that it is the main focus of the game. I would have liked to see this as a two disc set with the first disc comprised of the meetings before Congress and disc two made up of another search and discover adventure. I found it rather confusing when you play a back-story and then you are immediately playing a scene that is set in the present time. For those who have played the game (and not ruining it for those who haven't), a certain character should not have been brought back from the dead. All in all, it is a good addition to the series and it leaves it open for more titles to appear. Enjoy!

P.S. For all of you who are wanting to get revenge on Afghanistan, you need to look no further than this game.

Syphon Thriller

If you like Syphon Filter 1 & 2...you will like 3. Great improvements in graphics, missions and choice of weapons. Great Story line too! I especially like the 2 player and mini mission modes. My only dissapointment was how quickly I finished the game (in one week or about 5-6 hours.) I wish they could have added a few more missions like there were in the second sequel.

My Opinion of SF3(please forgive spelling)

I thought the game was good. It answered some questions and left some unanswered. I felt that there was not enough stealth missions in SF3. Lian, Gabe, Mara, and Teresa looked alittle freaky in the FMV sequences. Teresa and Gabe not as much as the other two. The vast array of weapons was fun. I especially liked the AU3000, the X-RAY gun. Most of the levels were fairly easy. My main problem was with the parameters and "magic" guards, guards that pop up behind you. The story line was ok, but i liked SF's story better. I have to agree that the level where you follow Phegan through the exhibit is one of the hardest in the series. Although the 2nd level where you cure test subjects in SF is pretty hard too. I recomend that you play SF and SF2 BEFORE SF3. Thank you for your time.

This Game is Truly The Best Game For Ps1

Im gonna tell you once and im gonna tell you again there isnt a better game on ps1 then the Syphon Filter series. Especialy this game. Ive played all 3 Syphon Filters including the newest one. This one was the first one I played and I enjoyed it very much. This game is filled with so much action I couldnt believe it. In the first level you start out in a hotel and you get to sniper people across a building. Every single level in this game is just so freaken cool. Plus this time you get to play as a bunch of diffrent agents like Laurence Majuri, Terisa Lepan, and Lian Xing. The weapons have improved too. In this game you get a MIL-15 wich is a freaken cool explosive shotgun. You also get this really sweet x-ray gun wich can shoot through walls. The only thing that honestly dissapointed me in this game was the small amount of levels. Theres only 19 levels in this game. But of course the all new mini game option kept me pretty busy. I thought when I bought this game there was gonna be two discs but there is only 1. Hell there should of been 3! Anyway overall I think this game was just completely kick ass. Ive replayed this game so many times and I think anyone who likes the Syphon Filter franchise should have this game in there collection. I know we live in an age of playstation 2 now but you should still buy this game. Trust me you wont be dissapointed.

Good game but way to short.

I am a Syphonfilter fan but when you play the first to you master the configuration pretty quick. And once mastered you pretty much breeze trough the game with out difficulty. And thats the problem with this game I finished the game it 3&1/2 hours and I was a bit dissapointed but that was just a minor set back to me. The action was pretty damn good and the story was good to but not a better storyline like part 2 was. If you are a fan get part 1,2&3 but don't get the OMEGA STRAIN that game sucked.

Great

All I have to say is another great one to add to the collection. If you loved the past two like me, then you'll love this one as well. Syphon Filter 4 is being anxciously anticipated.

Why isn't it rated 5 stars

I can't believe some people didn't give this game 5 stars. You get to play as more than one person and more than two but three. The graphics are good and the graphics of the movies are almost perfect, plus the game is great. The game is very challenging. The levels are very long with as many as 16 objectives and many checkpoints. I am only on the fifth level but I still have fun losing. I also like the idea of the game trying to stop a virus and you are accused for crimes you didn't commit. The game has awesome weapons like the taser and the M-79 and the Mil-15. Isuggest you get this game. Syphon Filter 3 does have a share of violence though.

Syphon Filter 3 Leftovers

I'm sorry, I cant slap on the kudos that the other Syphon Filter die hards did for this version. I thought Syphon Filter 1 was the best console game available when it came out, Period. Really good first person action and controls that were superbly responsive.
Syphon Filter 2 came on 2 CDs and was truly massive with lots of well thought out sections and excellent challenges.
Syphon Filter 3 is exactly what I said it is. A series of OK to Lame leftovers they didn't think were worth including in 1 and 2.
In case you didn't know, the company that produced one and two sold out before three and it is completely obvious that the people who cludged together 3 were using the leftovers.
One and two broke a lot of new ground and the increased scale of two alone justifies it, but 3 does nothing new and is kind of like one of those Death Wish 13 movies. They really should have stopped at two in this case. This even came in a 2 cd box (with only one CD and a lame little meaningless pamphlet)
They obviously had more planned, but decided just to exploit Syphon Filter fans instead, [taking money] out of them before they learned the truth.
Sorry Guys, your first two were great, but this one is pure financial exploitation.
MGS2 on the PS2 is intriguing, but really wordy and a little strained in the control department even if you don't like true first person as much as I do.
However, Halo on the Xbox is the new best console shooter, Period!
Played through Heroic level, hard but great fun. Legendary is continuous Suicide, also Period.
If you like shooters, it is time to move on.
