Great Series on the new platforms!

I have enjoyed the 2K sports college basketball games over the previous years and I personally prefer it over the EA version. I've been eager to get a sports game for the 360, but with EA 'trimming' down NCAA 2007, I waited and got College Hoops 2k7 which is every bit as fun as the previous versions. If you have enjoyed the previous versions, this one shouldn't be a disappointment.

Mostly this game is identical to 2k6, but there has been a few nice additions.

They added a weekly TV show that you can watch which recaps the games from the previous week, top 25 and next weeks big matchups. I was surprised when it actually was updated to talk differently about the NCAA tournament rounds. That was a nice touch. These shows are fun when your first starting out and building your program but after a while, you'll skip these.

I do have a few complaints about the game including the fact that you cannot set the auto coaching options (timeouts, subs and foul if behind) permanently. Each time you play a game you have to turn this off.

Additionally, the saving seems more clunky in 2k7 than it did in 2k6. You have to select the device, the save game, and confirm it once or twice. I wish there had been a quick save feature that used the same save game and drive.

While it's not a huge improvement over previous versions, this game is very solid, fun and enjoyable. Hands down it's the best college game and perhaps sports game available for the 360. If you like me are transitioning from the Xbox to the 360, you'll want to pick up this title. Besides a little college hoops in High Def never hurt anyone. :)

Best College Hoops game to date!

I recently baught this game. The $20 it cost is certainly worth it. The edit player feature is really nice. You can actully use the real players names on the game, and have the announcers say them as well. They have pretty much any college team, not to mention alot of the real coaches too. If they don't have them, you can edit them too. The game graphic wise is pretty solid. The only thing that hurts, is the way the players will miss easy shots and layups sometimes. The Top 25 season rankings need to be touched up for next season's version. They have teams sometimes that should not be ranked in the top 10, over teams that are playing much better competition. They have the Selection Sunday show at the end of the season after the Conference Tournaments are over, to get you set up for the big dance, now that's very nice. So that makes up for the Top 25 thing a little anyway. Like I said , there is no better college basketball game out there right now. College Hoops 2K7 is so much better than the March Madness games, it's funny. 4 out of 5.

I went to my friends house on Thxgiving to play Hoops 2K7 on XBOX 360 and I could not wait for the release on PS2. Now dont get me wrong I knew the graphics would not be as sharp as the 360 but the game feels exactly like 2K6 but the players are a tad bigger (I guess those protein shakes are working!). However, I do like how you can recruit players according to the state they are in. Im doing legacy mode with TSU so I want to keep the best players in TX and LA. But for $20 (actually I paid just $12 after trading in NBA 2K6 and Hoops 2K6) the game is worth it! However, I can only imagine how nice its gonna be on the PS3!

i got this game accidentally when i was at a local target. i forgot i preordered the ps3 version for the ps3 and i have to say that this game is better than the ps3 version and it is for the ps2 which is a older system than the s3 is. the graphics are way above average for the ps2 and it is alot of fun overall. i actually think there is more detail in the arenas in this game than there is in te ps3 version, but that is just an opinion.

same as last year

this game is basically the same as last year's game. I actually think that it is much easier to play against the computer this year. they did change the controls a little bit which is a plus, but im not sure if its worth buying unless you're a die hard college b-ball fan.

COACH mode addict

Before you read my review I just wanted to clarify that I only play in COACH LEGACY mode.

So...

I started this game out as the coach of the STONEY BROOK SEAWOLVES and have been coaching them for three seasons now. After each season you can put yourself into a carousel for job openings or you can stick to your job. You also do your own recruiting, control what your players need to work on in practice, picks plays, control lineups, give pep talks to individual players, go to off season recruitment camps where you can coach incoming freshman or practice with them and try to influence that player you need to come to your school.

Ultimately, 2k7 is the most indepth and fun game I've ever encountered. I love the pursuit. I love the season to season test of your recruiting skills. I love being in charge of putting together a team year after year. I also love, in coach mode, the realism you can achieve.

In some games, you'll find yourself... as STONEY BROOK or whoever... building up your team and beating #1's and top tens. In this game, it keeps it real. I got into the NCAA tourny three seasons in a row. I lost to USC in the first round by 10, in my second season I lost in the first round to Tennessee by twenty and last season I upset Notre Dame, only to be destroyed by #2 ranked Kentucky by 35 points in round 2.

2k7 is tremendously realistic... with a catch.

I found during my first season that the SLIDERS needed to be TWEAKED BADLY!! This is the only reason I don't give it the full 5 stars. During my first season, I had 9x more steals than the next highest team and 4x more turnovers. I'm talking 900+ steals in one season! That's like 30 steals a game... slightly ridiculous. You'll find your guys throwing the ball overhand into traffic, trying to throw through three defenders or just simply trying to make retarded passes.

I found that in order to reduce steals... I had to reduce my COACH sliders on tempo and defensive pressure. So, the game sort of handicaps you. I wanted to play an up tempo game, but doing that... I sacrificed realism. So, I turned the sliders way down.

I also turned down the steal sliders to almost nothing... in all areas and it helped, but it is still a problem. Fortunately, it's enough to keep the game within a hair of being completely realistic. I also turned the referee fouls ALL up to 100%. At 50%... they NEVER blew the whistle. I could play an entire game without a foul until I turned up it's sliders.

Finally, I also cranked the sliders up on shot tendencies. I found my players standing wide open for a shot and hesitating. I also found guys standing there when there were obvious lanes to the hoop. TURN UP TENDENCIES! Also, dunks in traffic. Turned that up too... just because their cool.

Tweak the sliders to your liking and play away. Fantastic game that I'm completely addicted to, just wish that the game didn't have such a slider problem.

THE GREATEST COLLEGE BASKETBALL GAME EVER

THIS IT THE GREATEST COLLEGE BASKETBALL GAME EVER. EVEN BETTER THEN THE POPULAR MARCH MADNESS EA SPORTS GAME. THE GRAPHIC ARE BREATHTAKING EVEN WITHOUT A HD TV. IT IS WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY.

If you already have NBA 2K7 then there's no point of buying this game. Game play is basically the same, but with less skilled players. This is also a guards game. Very hard to get an efficient post game going. Even the best post players will shoot a jump shot from under the whole instead of dunking. The manual has some complicated instructions from doing a drop step, but this doesn't seem to work. The positive is that it's only $19.99. I guess it will hold me over until March Madness comes out.

killer game

very cool gameplay and accurate rosters and ratings. most importantly, the legacy mode is PHENOMENAL for those who dont mind the tedium of individually allocating every single recruiting point (often in painstaking fashion). if youre like me, its worth it.
