A note to all of those people who go: DONT BUY! IT DOESNT WORK ON MY COMPUTER! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! OK, please go get a brain. If you have a good computer their shouldnt be any problems. Dont tell us not to buy it because your crappy computer can't handle it!

If it works, it is one of the best Tycoon games ever. :)

ONCE AGAIN: Dont tell us not to buy it because your crappy computer can't handle it! We got a computer of our own, kthxbye.

Don't bother. --From a Sim Game Fanatic

I have an exceptional and probably excessive amount of Sim games in my collection. All of Maxis', "The Sims" expansions including the latest, Makin' Magic, Sim City 4, Zoo Tycoon with Expansions, Roller Coaster Tycoon with expansions, etc., etc.

I was incredibly disappointed with this game to the ends that I played it for two hours before uninstalling it, repacking it, and putting it up for sale on eBay to have it taken off of my hands immediately afterwards. I wasn't about to drive myself crazy with frustration and the displeasure I got out of the first two hours alone. It's too bad I won't get those two hours back to play something that made more sense. LOL.

The previous reviews have probably said it all;

The game has no tutorial. I spent the first hour playing guessing games to get accustomed with how the menu bars work. The second hour was trial and failure; working with it to get some kind of business going once I had a general idea on how to navigate through the game. There is not enough money to begin with and the game comes to an abrupt end which is highly frustrating.

The cursor on the screen is big enough that you can probably see it from 50 feet away with no options to tone it town several times smaller.

The options available for this game were just about slim-to-none.

The scenarios didn't seem remotely interesting. I tested one out to try and make up my own tutorial and get something running to be met with the same frustrations as I did when I tried the free-build mode.

I have no problem spending the money to buy the strategy guides for Sim Games, and this one I had to say I wouldn't dare do. The game alone was just terrible. Even at a reasonably low price, I do not recommend this game.

I recommend pretty much any other Tycoon game outside of the Mall Tycoon games to have a good time with.

Better than the original, but still far from good.

People who have read the reviews for the original Mall Tycoon may have seen the "A low blow to the Tycoon games" review. I wrote that review, and I can say the same thing for the sequel. One thing that most people will quickly notice is the improved graphics and extra shop types, but those are the only things that make this better than the original. In the original, people were unhappy with only three types of employees, but the extra employees in Mall Tycoon 2 either are useless or do the same thing as another employee you can hire. The tutoral is now gone. There are also no more aliens (which may actually be a good thing). You can see what your customers see with a new first-person mode, but it does not help you get a better idea of how your mall is doing. Resarch is no more rewarding than researching in the original. It is also much harder to keep track of your money than in the original. Overall, Mall Tycoon 2 is just like the original with only minor improvements.

NOT the greatest game

Installing mall tycoon 2 wasn't the problem but getting the game to work for more then 15 min at a time was the challenge. It would send me back to the desktop after the first 15-20 min. into it. I finally found a patch on the internet witch solved the problem, but after I finally got the game to work it wasnt as fun as I thought it would be. Its hard to understand how to play and when you do get the hang of it its imposible to keep your mall from going bankrupt (even with loans). Its just not worth the money or time to figure it out! I wish I would of read the reviews before I bought it. I strongly recomend not wasting your time with it.

When I bought this game it looked realy cool. But I must say I was pretty disapointed. Well you start out with only a little money. Hardly anything. So you can only buy a little bit of stuff. I usally run out of money by half an hour. The customers have no faces. If you counld have a little more money to actully do something it would be a good game. :(:(:(

Yet another failure to run

This game is impossible to run on my system. All my other sim games from the original SimCity to the recent SIMS and expansions are fine, but NO GO with this game. It also mucks up my resolution after it freezes and boots to the desktop every time I try to run it.

I've added the "fixes" but it doesn't help. The tech support doesn't respond and the HELP and message boards for this game on the Global Star website only leads to a series of "404 Page not found" pages.

I got the first mall tycoon for my birthday last year and it didn't work I took it back 2 times and got new ones and none of them worked. When mall tycoon came out I got it again for my birthday, I'm a huge fan of these kind of games have them all. But just like the first one the first 4 times I loaded it and it didn't work and when it did it didn't work good. Its a waste of money and a big disappointment, I was very excited by the concept of building the mall but all that happed was that i was disappointed.

My Gateway system meets all the requirements for this game... It won't work. The game just exits after showing the 'Globalstar' opening screen. I looked all over on thier site; no technical support at all. I tried emailing them; no response. Maybe it'd be fun if it actaully worked, but, is it worth the risk?
