One of the worst RPG's I've played

I tried to like this game, but it has so few redeeming qualities that it is just not worth wasting your time on. It has some originality with the idea of repeating the same week over and over, but this idea is executed very poorly. Most of the time, you just end up waiting around and going through a whole week in the game just to get one little task done. It's boring and frustrating. The battle system is okay. It offers nothing special or unique, but it is adequate, and the graphics (...). Don't buy this game, and even be wary of renting it. No matter how long you play it, it never gets good. Not even close.

good game, but here is the reason some people don't like it

i love this game, but people don't seem to like it. the reason being is that they lack the motor skills to hold down multiple buttons, thus, creating a bunch of babies across the internet. if you didn't like the game because of the graphics, then you need to stick your head into a blender. because almost everyone interested in RPGs loved final fantasy seven, and we all know about the graphics. so yeah, great story, somewhat difficult (need to get a hang of it), graphics were fine, overall good buy. loved it.

Please heed the warnings

... this game is horrible. Please, do not be caught up as I was with the promise of a PS2 RPG. This game is difficult to play, boring and many times brings on the "smack my head with a controller" syndrome. If you got this game for free, give it five minutes of your time. But never drop a dollar for this, or it will be a dollar wasted... this game is bad. Very bad. And I'm sorry I bought it.

Pretty cool

This was the first PS2 game I played. I thought at first the game [stunk], I hated it. But then I got into it after the plot, so I really like it. The graphics are good, but I've played only two PS2 games, so I can't really compare. I didn't like how you battled, reminded me of Pokemon, you don't see whatever is about to attack, and your pulled into a fight. It could've been better, but no game is perfect, right?

Not OY...but jOY

Over all i found this game rather enjoyable. Although it gets confusing in the beginning you can easily pick up the plot. The controls are NOT hard at all. You use the analog stick to move in a 3-D environment which has decent graphics. Seeing as how this game was one of the first PS2 games, i think that it was good. I suggest you rent this game before you buy it, it takes some time to get into the game and of course all people dont like the same thing, however i am quite pleased with the game. It is not difficult to get involved in the game...unless you didnt read the instruction manual (hopefully you did).

Totally Upset

When I looked at the cover, I was convinced that this is a good game. Indeed, this game delivered a solid RPG gameplay. However, as I compared it to FFX, this game was lacking. It has no characters vocal, no point of destination, and the game repeated for several times.

The graphics was not so good, which made me lost my interest in playing this game until the end. The monsters were not as unique as other RPG games.

It's really fun to play a musical instrument (a guitar). I get hooked by the mini games. Although it has a variety of songs, it only based on one song. The last song that Mouse should performed to Xelpherpolis was so difficult. The rhytm was so fast.

Seriously, this game needed some modifications before it was released to the market. I hoped Konami will remake this game^O^.

Please rent this game before you buy it. If you're satisfied, then purchased it later.

It's...okay

I actually liked this game, and I with the exception of a few lulls, I found it enjoyable...EXCEPT for the time thing. I didn't mind doing the days over and over again, I just had a problem keeping up with the clock in the corner. Luckily, I figured out that when you go to save, you can see the time, but it was still annoying. I rented the game and then printed out a few things to help from gamefaqs and was actually starting to get the hang of everything when I had to return. Overall, it's a good thing, it's just trying to keep track of the stupid clock.

Where can you find a good game

Ephemeral Fantasia is a very fun and interesting RPG game through this decade. The reason is it completely explain the reason for playing a video game. But the main reason to buy it because of it's great story line and amazing graphic. Because a anime artist I'm sure this is my type of my game....I myself only buy anime style video game. That's why I recommend it rather than other kind of video games.

Ephemeral Fantasia is one of the biggest games out there on the PS2. It combines all the natural elements of a great RPG, storyline, battle system, characters, music, and minigames.

Right when I started this game, I knew it would be a long game. You play as a a musician, Mouse, who has been hired to play at the princess's wedding on the island of Pandule. Only when you arrive, a dark secret about the island is revealed. The game is seperated into weeks with a monday tuesday type system, with a clock as well. You have to use the clock to meet certain people at the right time or complete a certain event. Timing is EVERYTHING in this game.

The island itself is giant, with tons and tons of characters to interact with. The island has 49 different map pieces you can collect, to show you around the island. It is just huge, with about 5 towns you can visit. Try and find shortcuts. The game contains 12 characters you can recruit onto your team. It will take time, patience, and thinking to recieve each character.....

The battle system is in real time so you must choose your attacks fast to avoid being attacked yourself. There are different skills you can learn called Arts. Make your Arts grow levels and you might learn a knew attack. You can also learn different attacks from you teammates, as well as tons of magic.

I was blown away by the variety in this game. But what is a game without the proper music. Have you ever played a game with the volume on mute? Well its pretty hard to play like that. This game have the coolest music, where ever you go, battle, or outside. You can also add on replay value to the game by using your guitar, Pattimo, to play different music, that is a very fun minigame, as well as Death Hykato raising, and tons more.

But seriously, Ephemeral Fantasia is a really cool game, with endless replay value, and pure fun. I would reccomend this game to all RPG players alike, this game is definatley a must buy for the PS2

Why, Oh Why did KCEJ port this horrid title?

I thought the same thing as most gamers would when I laid my eyes upon this new addition to the video game store's shelves; "Cool, an actual RPG for the PS2". I luckily made the ever so wise decision of renting this game before buying it, because I nearly became ill once the game began. The cut scenes are badly done, with all of the character's having no voice acting & the messages scrolling by in realtime, nearly too fast for you to complete reading what they've just said. The graphics are far below par on all counts, the game looks like it could have run on the PSOne, let alone a next gen system like the PS2. The story is slow & boring & the constant load times are sure to drive you crazy. The camera angles leave more than something to be desired. About the only joy you will gain from this game is during the battle sequences, if you last that long.
