This Game Rock's!!!!!!!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 5 / 7

The best game in the LOTR series. Here are my pros & cons 4 this game.Even though it's more cartoon-like other than the real LOTR games.

pros:
-great graphix
-plenty of enemies to fight
-fun highly detailed levels to roam around freely in
-great mind-twisting puzzles to solve
-lots of missions in every level to keep you busy

cons:
-not much weapon choice.A sword, stick, and rocks.
-for some levels you have to stick to a strict map plan
-some missions seem nearly impossible to complete unless you go backwards through the level.

But overall...I give this game a 5 of 5.

"The Hobbit" video game is a spectacular game! I haven't beaten it yet; but I just know that it is my kind of game. It is not too easy, has a lot of action, and has wonderful graphics and sound quality!

What the?

When I wrote a reveiw on The return of the King and Amazon reccomended The Hobbit so I rented it and its AWESOME. This game is a lot like The fellowship of the ring (I own everything to do with LOTR because I'm a HUGE fan) but better. My Dad has a copy of the Hobbit book but I never read it. So it is also nice to find out what its about. It was also wise to mix Zelda with the hobbit, That will make Zelda fans LOTR fans. Adventure fans this is your game.

Overall, pretty good

This game is good for a couple of reasons. The first and foremost is that it is rated E for the parents like myself that are always trying to find something appropriate, interesting and exciting for our children to play. This definately lives up to that expectation. The second reason is that although the puzzles can be trying, they are surmountable with persistance. As with any puzzles, there is always a pattern if you are patient enough to figure it out. My biggest complaint is the way you save your games. We have tried to have three games from different kids being saved at the same time. The only way to save the game is by clicking on either save or quick save. To quick save your game you have to make sure your game is the one highlighted in blue. If you accidently click on save instead of quick save, it starts a new game. If you are trying to quick save, which updates and saves your current game, and fail to notice which game is highlighted in blue, you can erase someone elses game. Sounds confusing? It is! We have had many frustrated and angry moments because someone, in a hurry to save so they make sure they are kept at the level they have just mastered, inadvertantly saves over someone elses game. It is very, very easy to make this mistake. Therein lies the problem. Overall, this is a good game that is appropriate for all ages.

A Must Own

I have just finished this game recently. I spent 7 hours finising from where I was. I was hooked!!! Any game that makes you want to continue playing until your done is worth the money.

I do have one problem though. I'm an adventurer. In other words, I'll investigate every nook and cranny of the game to find all of the jewels, or secrets. Problem was in the level called "Inside Information" I made the mistake of finding a Spear, Ruby, Shield, Necklace. Then when I completed that level, and onto the next level, I was asked by some of the dwarves to retrieve these items. Well, when I went back to those places. Guess what, they were gone and they didn't show in my inventory that I received them!!! So, I was unable to fulfill those missions. It's a shame too, no I'll never know what I would've received as a reward!! There is nothing you can do. This is a flaw in the game not in the player. Other than that, I give it 4 stars!!!

THE BEST GAME

this game is great. it has alot of diificulty and great graffics. the levels are huge and MUCH different from eachother. i dont know how someone could possibly say you can beat this game a bunch of times over the weekend. you start off in the shire and work your way through middle earth. the levels are huge. there are tons of quests some optional some required. i wish there could be a level select and the levels should be split up into about a 3rd of a level is in this game but thats not enough to really take away from this game. definitely buy it! beware this game is not a completely action game! it focuses alot on solving puzzles and getting around things. it has plenty of action but not a quarter of the action in lord of the rings games.

If you are a fan of Tolkien then you should not buy or even play this game. It ruins the vision of Middle-earth that we Tolkien fans have in our minds. "The Hobbit" is an incredible book but just isn't video game material.

The Hobbit pretty good

I think the Hobbit is a fun game, good for children six and up. This is a good game if you're looking for adventure. This game is not about action but adventure. If you like "The Hobbit" the book, then you will like this game. It does skip at least one or two chapters. It has a good deal of puzzles and sneaking. The Hobbit is a good game for children, and I am sure adults will like it too.

Fails in a thing called "battle"...

I really don't know how hard it is to make a battling engine fun. The creators installed bad camera angles. They also made the fighting bland. These 2 things combine to make the game a less-than-average expierience. The camera can affect you during platform jumps. If you want a platform game get "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time". If you want a fighting game get Tekken 2. If you want a great game simply avoid "The Hobbit".
