This game does NOT come with the gun.

DONT BUY THIS VERSION!

i love amazon and i dont usually harbor any resentment against a company but this is a gun game WITHOUT THE GUN! even if you have a guncon you should get the new one because it's great. i had to send this back because there was not a product description and me being simple minded assumed it would have a gun with it. the gun is only 10 bucks extra at most retailers and yet again it's such a great peripheral that you should spring the extra dough for it. if you somehow have a guncon 2 get this version, otherwise buy the version with the gun and STAY AWAY!

slickest shooter so far

first, you can use the old guncon but you might as well get the time crisis2/guncon2 package for just a little more... the guncon2 seems much more accurate, it's got a direction pad on the heel (where the hammer would be on a gun) and an A and B button on either side of the gun. the start and pause buttons are both located on the left (sorry, lefties). note that the time crisis2/guncon2 only comes with a standard hook up with video and left and right audio rca plugs. if you are using S-video or component video you will need to get an adaptor... (and turn up the brightness/contrast on your TV to get the best response to your shots).

the game itself is really fast paced... and you learn to use that duck button pretty quick to get out of the way of missiles. stages just from the first act have you in a motorboat with enemies motoring literially all around you (and you have to avoid hitting your partner). you really get a sense of 3-D movement as the game rotates your viewpoint from time to time. graphics look great and enemies react according to where they get shot (fall back if shot in the head, fall forward or to the side if shot on the leg... well animated and a nice touch).

as noted by another viewer, you get rewarded for playing, the minimum being extra tokens to continue your game. the little extra games are great for target practicing and unlocking secret areas/games.

if you've played the original Time Crisis, you'll love this game for being better in everyway (well, the storyline is still trite). this is a very well made shooter and loads of fun with a second gun (with a friend or you can even try it John Woo-style, but it's hard to duck). blast away!

this games is the most FUN of any of the games I've played on PS2. My wife and I just load it up and start shooting everything.
Amazon drops the ball on this one, they are selling the version without the gun, and don't seem to be offering it anywhere on the site. You can't play the game without the light gun. The company does sell this game with a gun included (...) more - look for it.
I didn't give it 5 stars because it's WAY to short. You'll go through all the levels the first night you have it. But it's fun, you'll go through the levels again and again.

From the mightiest pharaoh to the lowliest peasant, who doesn't enjoy a good light gun game?Top three reasons why this one is better than most:Time Crisis 2 rewards you for playing.Earn continues, credits, new games and more. Many arcade to home light gun titiles don't give you squat.Mini games that look like they've come from the way cool point blank series.Of course the two player cooperative play.Forget about doing this game with the CPU.Grab a friend and play this disc the way it's meant to be played.Seeing your partner on the screen working with you adds mucho fun to this style of game.

Different kind of game, Best played with Guncon 2

I had never heard of this until a few weeks ago, but I do like it very much even though it has minor flaws. Flaws: 1. Don't buy the game without the guncon2. It plays much better than the controller and you will miss out on the fun of the game. 2. It's somewhat short. In the next version they need to add more chapters, but some of the challenge areas and sub games almost make up for it. You can do the game on Easy, Hard and Very Hard to sharpen your skills. 3. On Two player mode you have to concentrate too hard on your side of the screen, playing it ilinked is much better. Good parts: 1. The Guncon 2. Very accurate, light, & a good feel it just needs some recoil action especially when you get the machine gun. 2. Double Guncon2 - You have to get the useage down but once you do you feel like MAX PAYNE! It is hard to find the game and Guncon package in regular retail stores. Namco does not sell the Guncon2 by itself but you can find online @ redoctane (as of this date) and a few places sell the Japanese version that will work with US PS2's. I am not a hardcore gammer, I like to have different types of things to play that give me more of an interactive feel. With this the other game to get is Vampire Night which is the only other game in the PS2 format (as of this date that I know) that uses the light gun....

This game not only has the arcade game, but also many others

This game is the shooting game of all shooting games. The arcade mode contains the same version as in the arcades, but with repeated play, there are numerous "secret" options to obtain. Different guns, and "views." Along with the arcade mode, there are many ways to play it: 1player, 2player(split screen), double gun(1player or 2players)sharing one screen and character, or i-link. Aside from the arcade mode, there are many about 50 different miny-games as well. There's Agent Trainer with different targets and movements, Quick and Crash, a basic aiming game, Shoot Away 2, a quick pased try at Clay Pidgeon shooting, retro style and special style, and Crisis Mission. In this mode, you play your way through numerous "days" each containing about 5-7 missions in each. These missions are sometimes very difficult, and quite challengeing, something you should look for in a shooter game. If its too easy, then there's no challenge, and the game can be conquered in less that a day. Through all these options and different ways of game-play, I can't see how you could possibly pass this game up; it even comes with it's own gun! There's no need to buy one to play, you could possibly buy the first gun to play two players but it isnt even necessary. I was somewhat dissapointed in the first game, and this is the game i hoped for: IT DELIVERS!

GREAT GAME-no guncon

This has to be one of the most fun and enticing video games I have ever experienced playing. I have not yet bought this product, for I do not have the Playstation 2 console, but I will once I purchase the PS2. When I first started playing it, I was so excited and thrilled, that I couldn't get off!

There is, however, a few minor flaws with this product:
-The game is short, only giving you approximately six levels.
-bullets look like tennis balls flying through the air.
-Difficult to hear the enemy shooting at you.

The problem that I dislike greatly is that on Amazon.com, the game does not come equipped with a Namco GunCon 2.

All in all, the game is excellent, and exciting!Have fun!

Better than the arcade version

Just got this game yesterday. Easy to hook up the GunCon. The gameplay is awesome, the graphics are great. Duck and reload just like in the arcade game. Headsots get you more bonus points! And as an added bonus, the disc is packed with extra shooting games like skeet shooting and target practice. 5 levels of difficulty give you lots of flexibility. If you liked the arcade game, get this game for your PS2! The only thing keeping it from a 5 star rating is the repetitive gameplay. Your hand cramps up in like 10 minutes from shooting...but ultimately, you don't care becasue the game is too cool.

No Gun included!
