This game is a great game. for one if your parents dont like games with gore you can reduce the gore. its also nice that you can choose your skill level and for each tournament there is a tutorial to tech you how to play the game.

Also if your looking for a fun game for two or more friends this is the one to go with. in multiplayer mode you can choose to eather go and play with them or be enemies and battle it out and have loads of fun. i have not tryied this game with my multi tap but im sure its still tons of fun.

one more thing this is not oneof those games that gets boreing after an hour or two it still has not lost its fun and i had the gafor a while. great game if you loved 007 agent under cover(i say its better)

A horrendous game you cannot play!

I have played this game for PC years ago and it was fun and as a matter of fact it was alot better than PS2. Now don't get me wrong I would give this game a much better rating if I can atleast control the characters control movements but this ps2 version is a massive ripoff because you can berely control the characters you don't know which buttons to push to make the characters move or shoot and the option mode was absolutely no help at all.
And that's all I know and give this a bad rating review and the graphics and music I don't care too much about that.
Please don't waste your money on this piece of junk it's not really worth it.
I returned this piece of junk game for an exchange for castlevania lament of innocence instead and that game was fun.

Buy that game instead of this game you will love it and thank me for it.

Stay away from this game!

VeryGood fps but........

First off, I think this is the best game ever made. If you like good graphics, sounds, and awesome gameplay, this is the game for you. Also, if you have the demo for this on a computer, and like the computer controlls better, this game does good use for you. With this game, you can really take advantage of the USB ports in the back. You can hook up a mouse, and a keyboard to the PS2. Only one problem though, you can only configue the controlls for the keyboard, not the mouse. This game is really cool, with awesome weapons, powerups, levels,HIGH LEVELS OF CARNAGE (yeah!), etc... Also, if you buy this game, i`d recomend renting ( or buying) Quake 3 and Dynasty Warriors 2!!!

Great game...if you use the keyboard and mouse option

I've played Unreal Tournament on the PC and I was absolutely amazed with the game. The graphics, weapons, AI, and gameplay were all wonderful. I thought that it would be the same or better on Playstation 2. Everything is other than the controls. I found it incredibly hard to move around and very frustrating. I borrowed my sister's USB mouse and keyboard to try the other set up in the hopes that it would be better. It was great. I could do everything I could on the PC and still with the ability to play on PS2 with my friends who had done a little better at mastering the controls. The i.link with this is also a great option. It is tough to find the cable, but they do have it here and at some Wal-Marts. Other than the control problem, Unreal Tournament is the best shooter on PS2 and an overall great game in comparison to all other systems. Do yourself a favor and buy this game... as long as you have the stomach for all of the blood and guts that fly around.

So so game...

I expected better everything from this game. I expected 60fps. You get 30fps when there's 1-3 guys on screen..then drops to like 15fps or even LESS when there's 4 or more guys on screen. Or it also drops to 15fps or less with 2-3 guys on screen, but with lots of shooting going on. It's very hard to shoot someone with this much slowdown. This is ridiculous. The graphics themselves (the textures) aren't so bad. They're near-PC quality. The sound is good I guess..same with controls. Many levels to play in..along with modes like domination, deathmatch, capture the flag, and assault. Bottom line: I do NOT recommend this game. But I HIGHLY recommend Quake 3 Revolution. It has better graphics, 60fps gameplay, even with lots of action going on. No pop up, or jaggies. Great sound and controls. This is a PC-perfect game. If your deciding to get one of these games..don't even think..just GET QUAKE 3 REVOLUTION. You won't regret it.

Not a good console game

When you think Unreal Tournament you should think of a PC and not a console system. While FPS games have a chance on the console, just think about 007 for the N64, it's difficult to make a winner on the console experience. Unfortunately, UT does not make it into winner mode.

Play control isn't bad. There are a fixed number of pre-set ways you can configure the controller, and not everyone will find one that's acceptable. I prefer setting J which makes it almost identical Oni style controls and seems to me to be the emerging standard control for first-person games.

The multiplayer mode has too many problems to make this game enough fun. The levels are all pretty small and pretty simple. There's no network play (though you can hook two PS2s together with an i-Link for 8 player fun), so you'll pretty much max out at 4 people on a split screen forced to use the controllers.

If you're looking for a good multi-player FPS, I'd save your money. It's only a matter of time before some company makes one. It takes a little patience.

disapointed!!

i thought this game was good but i was wrong....

at my cousin's graduation party i borrowed this game from him and i thought it was going to be fun. i popped in the cd the very next day and was extremely disapointed, i only spent 5mins and i was already bored

***the graphics are like ps1 games (terrible!!)
***the music was really dumb
***gameplay was extremly boring
it really hurts you eyes if you play more than 30 mins since the graphics are horrible

the only part i like about the game were the weapons; they were cool. other than that, dont even rent this game

if you really like unrealtournament2004 you can download it for free at WWW.gigex.com
it will take you about 15mins but its much better the graphics gameplay and music

Good game, but...

compared to it's PC brethren, this title is sorely lacking.

No online play = no fun without multi-tap and 3 extra dual shock 2's...

Ugly graphics compared to PC, or even fellow PS2 First Person Shooter: TimeSplitters.

Slowdown. Lots of it. Especially in multiplayer. Do not play with more than one other person or you will experience some serious slowdown. It's not so bad that you CANNOT play it, but it is very frustrating considering how powerful PS2 is! You shouldn't have to put up with slowdown with this kind of machine. If you've played Perfect Dark, the slowdown is comparable to that game in 4 player mode.

Horrendous controls. The game gives me a migraine every time I play it because for some reason the controls aren't fully customizable....

The BEST FPS! Quake is now OUT!

See title! PROS: Everything! Graphics, AI, weapons, sounds, music, multiplayer, EVERYTHING! Cons: no internet MP (you can live without it; trust me!)
