Finally--an XBox game for kids!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 86 / 92

One of the biggest problems with the XBox platform is the almost-total lack of games for younger kids. My 5- and 7-year-olds don't care for sports simulations (they'd rather just go out and play, thank goodness), and the rest of the XBox titles are very specifically geared to teens and adults. Even the Shrek title is surprisingly nasty and unsuitable for the under-12 set (it's rated Teen). So when I saw a preview of this game at CES, I was delighted. It includes the full cast of all of Nick's hit shows and the gaming looked like it would be easy for kids to master and enjoy for a long time. I think this will be a serious hit for XBox!

Good as long as your donĂ½t expect too much.

Nickelodeon Party Blast is a fun and simple game for younger children. Kids can pick their favorite cartoon characters (including Sponge Bob) to compete in a number of mini-games. The games are rather simple, such as throwing food on each other, squirting players with water, or rafting down a river. As you collect tokens, you unlock different levels and challenges.

Here are some things to keep in mind when buying this game:

1) It will be fun for those between 4-11. Older kids will get bored of the game fast. For the younger kids, there are some aspects of the game they might find difficult. For example, during gameplay your character can get covered with green ooze and slows down. The only way to shake it off is by rapidly moving the thumb stick back and forth. The younger kids often struggle getting this movement down.

2) The graphics are primitive by any standard. Do not expect much.

If you buy the game with these things in mind, you should not be disappointed. The game WILL keep the kids entertained.

TOTAL DISSAPOINTMENT

I am sad to say after being so excited to get my kids this game it is horrible. Don't waste your time. Save your money and wait for a better, or get a different game. IGN.com gave this game a 1.1 out of 10 also. Which I read after playing it. Sadly this game is only frustrating and no fun. Save your MONEY!

This is an awesome game for youger children. My biggest problem with XBox was the limited number of games geared toward pre-teens. This is a major hit and my 9 year old loves this game.

Horrible game! Hard to understand and follow, bad graphics

We got this game for our 7 year old when xbox still had so few little kids games. This is the worst game we have ever purchased. It is hard to figure out...hard to play...and hard to see what you are doing. It just feels like pushing all kinds of buttons until the game ends.

Also...many levels that my daughter would want to play are 'locked' and the game is so hard to win that she will never get to play them.

The game has been collecting dust since the 1st week we bought it.

This game is fun and easy

This game is fun and easy!! If you played Mario Party 4 for Gamecube and loved it, you'll like this game too. There are alot of short and easy mini-games to play in it. So, it may be too easy for kids older than 7. I love the basketball and the squirting mini-games the most. I've only had the game for a week now but I play it every day when I get home from school.

this game is just like all the other nickelodeon games; bad graphics, too many codes and pointless goals
i was stupid enough to buy it without renting it from a video store first. just as i did with 5 nickelodeon game boy games that were way overpriced. please dont be as stupid as i was...
i suggest you DO NOT buy it.

I bought this game at Best Buy and am glad I did! This game has good levels which are FUN games! I do think they need to add a couple more! Although it may look as though there is only multiplayer, there is a single game. One game which you squirt other players is REALLY hard to control! I don't think you are supposed to control the people! The level is really fun though. When you choose a player(s) the game chooses the other people you are playing against. The sound is really hard to hear but not bad if you turn up the volume. The graphics are okay. All and all I think this is a pretty good game!

Not what I expected

I was excited when I first saw this game. We are always looking for a game for our young children to play. There it just not enough games for young children on x-box. This game was a big disappointment! There did not seem to be much of a goal to shoot for while playing. There are so many players on the screen at once that it is difficult to fine your player. It just was NOT FUN!

This game is a piece of .... The system requirements on the box are misleading. It is tough to explain to a six year old that his brand new game can't be played until you upgrade your video card, even though no reference was made to it on the box.

And when the game finally works it looks like a hybrid of 2000 technology meets 1977 graphics.
