Good game but a bit frustrating....

A great game overall for every scooby-doo fan.

The game is fun at first but then gets frustrating in some levels where you have to jump on platforms without falling into the water. When you do so, you need to start over at the beginning of the level....

Otherwise, the graphics are superb, the sound effects are great, and there are a lot of funny moments in the game.

Lots of fun, not so easy

My kids (ages 4, 3) absolutely love this game. They can't actually PLAY it, but they love watching Dad play. The kids will move around through the easy parts chomping up Scooby Snacks and hand the controller over when the monsters show up. Our household has spent many hours on this game and we're only about halfway through. Some of the levels get pretty difficult, especially hard for me has involved jumping back and forth from moving conveyor belts. But with persistence, we have been able to get through everything. Game save points are located at the beginning of each level, but the levels vary from 2 to 4 parts so at times you can get stuck having to complete a tough series of screens over and over before you can save progress. This can get frustrating, but its also challenging enough to keep an adult's interest up. There is also plenty of humor sprinkled throughout the game. I recommend this game if you're looking for something to play alongside young kids that won't get boring for you or them. There's not too many like that out there on the X-Box.

Wanted to love it, but...

The truth is, this game is just way to hard for those of us who are not natural born game players. I bought this game for my 4 year old and thought he could learn to play and I would just help him as needed.. instead, I promise you, you will find yourself on the floor with control in hand and 4 year-old cheering you on. (
The point of the game is that the mastermind - up to no good, has kidnapped the rest of the gang, leaving Scooby to search the mansion and grounds for them, while collecting Scooby Snacks along the way. (...) Supposedly, when you get to the end of the game, you will have the whole gang together and the identity of the mastermind will be revealed- but at this point, I really just wish somebody would tell me who the mastermind is and get it over with.
The game is not for the very young to play- though they seem to love watching it played. One of my biggest complaints is the total absence of directions for people who have never played games before. I didn't know the first thing about video games before I played this for the first time- and I almost didn't have the patience to learn. I would recommend the newer Scooby game Mystery Mayhem for the younger ones. They seem to have listened to complaints from this game and have made the new one much easier for new game players.
Good luck-

If you don't own this- buy it!

We purchased this game because of our little boy likes Scooby doo. Our son likes to try to play it, he can move Scooby doo around and get scooby to eat scooby snacks but its way too hard for him to actually play and understand this game, although he is almost 4. It is a fun game and my husband and I take turns at it, when one of us gets frustrated with it, the other one will take over and try to get past that stage. Its got a ton of levels, lots of little cartoon clips and you can collect cartoon clips and watch a full length cartoon- very neat! We have'nt gotten 1/2 way with the game yet, but its fun to watch the cartoon clips and all the original monsters are in it. You can collect the monster coins and go into a gallery and see them where they tell you fun facts about Scooby Doo and the Mystery gang. Its a really fun game- it is too hard for little kids, but its fun for them to watch and to try it out and its great for the older kids and parents to play.

too much fun

I hate scooby doo and this game rocks! Takes forever to beat, which is good. good for kids 5+. Like 50 levels and 20 monsters.

My husband bought me this for Christmas. I LOVE Scooby Doo, but find this game very challenging. I am by no means a game player and was looking for something to keep my interest, but at times this game gets so hard that I become frustrated and just want to get to a place to save the game. It stinks that you have to "complete" the level before you save. The sound effects are wonderful, but if at 20something woman has difficulty playing the game...imagine what the 5, 6, 7 year olds would be like.

Fun but a little challenging for small kids

I got this game for my 5 year old son. He loves to watch me play the game because it is a little too difficult for him. The graphics are great, and the sound track/effects are classic Scooby Doo. We do share the controller on some of the easier parts, but for the most part daddy is playing the game. Some of the run/jump combinations are killers, especially the level in the mansion when you are trying to jump/bounce up the steps that turn smooth after the first time you enter the room. Overall, good game for slightly older kids or an adult.

This game is NOT for a child!

This game is so hard for my youngster that he has gotten bored with it after only a short while. There are no real cheats for this game and there is NO easy mode. If your child wasn't born a gammer don't get it.. I did write to the company complaining about this game because it is marketed for small children but is too difficult for them to play.. They could care less! I won't buy another scooby doo game.

Fun for all ages.

This game is challenging for everyone, but it *is* OK for some kids. My 5 year old can't get enough of it, and would play all day every day if I let him. He has only gotten about 1/3 the way through the game, though, and then is perfectly happy starting back at the beginning next time. Gives him hours of fun. He's actually developed quite a skill. I (the 30-something Mom) love playing too, but find lack of help at higher levels frustrating. I've gotten about 60% through the game, and have gotten "stuck" without any further instruction about where to go or what to do. This is our first Xbox game, and we have all loved it.

Lots of Fun

This game has been so much fun. My two older boys are 4 and 6 and they love it. We've played the game over and over from beginning to end. This game has lots of levels and hidden things to find. As you obtain more tools & abilities you revisit levels to get things you couldn't previously. It has little movie clips that they enjoy too. Some parts are too difficult for my four year old, but my six year old has mastered the games harder portions with practice. Like any game, the initial levels are easy and they get harder as you advance. The kids love it and play for hours of fun. Definitely a great buy.
