This one's going to take home the Grammy

I've been waiting for this game for over 8 years! I may be a small part of the reason it was created because I sent Microprose several letters thanking them for the original game and begging for a sequal with updated graphics and hopefully a little better control at the strategic level. I'm not overly concerned about the fact that it will not have multiplayer support.

JUST PUT THE GAME INTO MY GRIMEY PALMS SO I CAN START PLAYING IT NOW!!!

PS to Microsoft (or Hasbro): Support this game and begin preparations for B-17 III ! (if you build it, we will come)

My always crashes on my Windows-XP Proffesinal. If you buy one and get it to work, it ranks in the top 5 funest flying/fighting games ever. If you have an old computer with Windows-95/98 DO NOT BUY THIS GAME! But, if you have a new PC with Windows-ME and a lot of memory it should work fine. I don't think it works on Mac.

I just received my B-17 ll Flight Sim and have to say that I love it. I have spent hours already planning and flying missions. The only adjustment I had to make to my computer was download the lastest video drivers and it was up and running. If your a flight sim nut, you will have to add this one to your collection.

While aspiring to be a challanging and realistic simulator, this program falls short. It has potential but is plagued with programing bugs, lack of program configuration documentation, and technical support. Infogames is relying on a user's forum and having customers share lessons learned and fixes amongst themselves. In my opinion, the game must have been released prior to any beta testing. Two patches have been released and another is on the way.

Ive been waiting on this game over a year since its recent release the message boards have been lighting up with warnings about how much machine you will need to run this game .theyre saying a min of 256k ram and a big video card people with the big machines are saying this game is the very best with the exception of a few small bugs that should be patched soon .people with the small machines are crying about how slow the game runs and that the screen will lock up.let me know if its worth the upgrade to buy this game , until then ill be building rollercoasters .

B-17, Take your TIME!

B-17 is a great game. I would give it 5-Stars instead of the 4 I did, but for the normal person(not a nutty a GAMER like me and others)it takes time. I mean - Time to learn to fly, figure out what to do with the crew-10 men, and TIME to learn every position. That said: buy it, sit down, have a few and learn to have a good TIME at your computer!!!

Lots of practice and patience

This is an excellent game, but not one that you can really jump right into. It takes a lot of playing to get used to the (MANY) controls and commands. Microprose was quite thourough and everything is pretty darn authentic. If you've got the time and patience this game is very rewarding.......one downside, no joystick calibration? or force feedback....otherwise excellent!

Frustrated B-17 owner

This simulator has great potential but the game needs a lot more ram than the published minumum. Infogrames technical support is totally non-existant! Also, number of additional aircraft is severly limited as is what you can do with them. All in all, a very disappointing product.

Repetative

Same thing over and over. I played the OLD Microprose B-17 on my 486 20MHz computer, and other than a graphics improvement, this is not any real improvement. If anything, because the older game had to rely on good gameplay as opposed to eye-candy, the older game may be better in that respect. You take off, you gather in a group, you go to the target, taking gunner spots on the way there, you get on IP, you take the bombier spot, you drop, and you fly back home. Over and over again. It's fun for a while, but not for long. Even the fighters are not that much fun to fly, as it is the same thing as other WW2 fight sims. No improvemetns, no innovative items. Pretty much, this has all been done before, and done as well or better.
3 stars. It's as average as it gets.

B-17 Flying Fortress Worthless Garbage

I feel the need to warn other people out there not to waste their hard earned money on this worthless game. I just purchased a copy of this game and it will not run on my computer even though my system meets or exceeds the manufacturers recommended system requirements. Also there is no tech support for this product so I guess if you are having difficulties with this product, that's just too bad. Tech support is only open from 12 pm to 5 pm Mon. thru Fri. any other times you are just out of luck. Plus the fact that you have to pay long distance charges to get a game running that should have been running in the first place. THANKS MICROPROSE AND HASBRO for such a lovely game. Micrprose delayed this game for 5 months you think that they could have done a better job.
