Fun at First , But gets Boring

After getting the 2003 version of this game I was crazy to buy this version. When I got it at first It was incredibly fun, but then when you play on rookie mode after a while it gets way to easy and you start winning 53-0! I figured it was no problem and switched to pro mode. Same thing happened, first very fun, but then you figure it out and you switch to the highest diffuculty, all star. You guessed it, it posts the same result as the first two difficulties.
It may last you a month of fun, but the you just want a new game.
Or if you want to unlock everything it may add some more time, but after that you may never play it again. I would recommend the 2003 model over this one, but it is only one star better. I am still waiting for atari to make a breakthrough backyard baseball game, and hoping they do it in the 2006 version, if the make one.

I just purchased this product today for my seven-year-old son, and I must say that this is the biggest piece of junk I have ever wasted $19.99 on. We own the two previous versions of Backyard Baseball, as well as Backyard Football 2002 and though they were simply wonderful products. We were very excited to get the latest version of Backyard Baseball, until we got it home and tried to run it. I has failed to run on three computers, a Sony PIII 600 running WIN98, and a Gateway P4 1.9ghz and a clone AMD Athlon 1100 both running XP. On the Sony and AMD the game simply quits at random spots, or when the space bar is pressed. The Gateway bluescreens during the introduction. Since this is the first version with the Atari label on it, I can only assume Atari 'tweaked it', ruining the gaming pleasure for thousands of children.

Don't waste your money. Buy the older version. It works great!

This game is so good because you can have anything you want basically. You can make season games there are bettter cooler and awesomer players than ever before. You can do home run derby it will tell you how far it went and I'm not sorry I bought this game!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This Game is the greatest, the gameplay is easy, the players are cool, and the graphics are the greatest (at least since our old version wich wore out).

Not compatible with certain workstations

Beware of purchasing Backyard Baseball 2005. This version requires DirectX 9.0 and a driver that is compatible with 9.0. I just finished the run around with Atari Tech support and the burden is on me to update my XP machine which has been unsuccessful - they do not have a patch - shame on them!
I loved their Backyard 2003 versions, but will avoid purchasing their sequels.

Backyard Baseball 2005 Is Awesome!!

This game is awesome!! I play this game on my new Toshiba laptop.
I purchased this game here at your site, and it is fun!! The graphics are great, the kids do really well! Even when you create
a kid, the kid does great!! You can even play a season game which
I like. The best part is when Dizzy Lamb hits a home run, I say
"GOOD JOB DIZZY!!!!, WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" or other kids on my team
such as Pablo, or Sammy, or Nomar G, or even Arod or Achmed Khan.
I still haven't unlocked both Abner Dubbleplay, and Derek Jeter.
When Sammy Sosa comes up to bat, he says "Qureass!!" and then
I say it back too! Also, when Pablo says "Hola" then I say it back. This game is way better than the earlier versions of the
game. Check it out on Playstation 2, it is just the same as on
PC. And then others like Achmed Khan if he hits a homer, then he
says "Come ON Feel The Noise"!!!! Buy this game today because it
rocks and you get the best players on it. Dizzy Lamb has also
liked New Wave music ever since.

I have really enjoyed the Backyard Baseball series. But this latest version is awful. It's very different from the older versions. I was looking forward to using the gameplay actions as in the previous versions, but its all different. And HARD! I'm past 50 and a long-time computer user and this is just too hard for me. So you can believe it will be hard for a child, even using the easiest setting. And one thing I dislike is; you cannot SAVE the game you are playing. The "3-D" effect is poor, too. All the personality effects of the familiar players in the previous versions are now bland and robotic in this installment. I am VERY disappointed. I'll be going back to Backyard Baseball 2003!!!!!!!!!!

I really love this game both on Playstation 2 and PC. I really think that this is one of the best games in the world. I have had this game for about 2 years I mean I purchased the game on Amazon.com two years ago because it was on the site and it looked very fun and interesting. Baseball is my favorite sport of all time and this is what I play almost every day, if not I play it a lot. It is just fun and addicting and I never get tired of it. It has new stadiums like Humoungus Memorial Stadium, Aquadome, a ballpark like space, Boardwalk, and more and there are new players too like Clanky, Abner, Barry Dejay, and much more. I think the mini games are fun like Homerun derby and Baseball darts as well as Season play and Pickup game too. I play Season team with my favorite baseball team Seattle Mariners and I like to play baseball at the Boardwalk. Achmed Khan, Albert Pujols, Alfonso Soriano, Mike Piazza, Pablo Sanchez, Clanky, Dizzy Lamb, Barry Dejay, and Abner Dubbleplay are the players on my season team. Dizzy is the best player on the team who is a big slugger.
Achmed makes me laugh when he strikes out like when he says "Rock N' Roll will never die, do you hear me NEVER!!!" I really laugh at him. Clanky is actully a robot and he is a pitcher. Abner and Pablo are excellent homers too. All great players and my team always wins. I also have another season coach with a team called San Francisco Giants, my other favorite baseball team. It has players like Ernie Steele, Alex Rodriguez "ARod", My favorite girl (Waiting For A)Girl Like You, Kyle Buhman, Annie Frazier, Ichiro, Jim Thome, Mikey Thomas, and Greg Maddux. Ernie Steele oh man makes me laugh because he's so funny, Kyle is another power hitter just like Dizzy and i call him a superstar. Girl Like You is a girl I love so much which is short for "Waiting For A Girl Like You" one of my favorite music songs ever. Jim Thome is also pretty good too but runs too slow. This game is just so much fun. I love everything about this game. This game is definately one I would highly recommend. A Million stars. Backyard Baseball 2005 forever.

This is the best Backyard Baseball game I've ever played! The kids are totally amazing in this game, they are strong good players. My favorite team is the Oakland A's. I play this game
almost every day! I play at the desert ballpark in a season game.
The graphics are totally the best! You can even play mini games
like Home Run derby and practice also! This game is definatly the
best game ever! It's fun and easy! I hit a lot of homers in this
game! You need this game!
