Go outside to the Backyard, AGAIN!!!!

I am a large fan of backyard sports. This is one of my favorites!
If you want to see the backyard kids more grown up and more skilled, get this. Believe it or not, Sunny Day is older too. You can earn new places, people, and coaches! If you type in a certain name under create a player, a new kid comes out to play. HINT: Read all of the credits, you will see 6 names, one is a nickname, those are names you need. Copy them down fast! I wonder what the next game will be, but this one is great! If you get it, you will love it, I know I do.

I am looking forward to the release of this game tremendously. The first BYB was the debut by Humongous Entertainment for the Backyard Sports series. The second was much improved, offering Major League Teams and players, along with online play. The last three releases from Humongous (owned by Infogrames) have been fabulous games with computer animation as well as hand drawn. It's hard to imagine that Backyard Baseball 2003 will be able to beat the success of BYB'01, but with the return of players like Sammy Sosa, Derek Jeter, Jason Giambi and Alex Rodriguez coupled with new players such as Ichiro, Tim Hudson and Carlos Delgado, this looks to be one of the better Backyard Games. I was mildly disapointed with the performance of Backyard Basketball, not because of bad graphics or gameplay flaws, but because of having only two professional players (Kevin Garnett and Lisa Leslie) and no official NBA teams! One minor gameplay glitch miffed me about BYF'02, but it was a small price to pay for excellent graphics and 10 pros such as Brett Farve. BYB'03 wields 4 brand new fields. Go to the Infogrames web site and go to Children's games and click on Backyard Baseball 2003 for screen shot. Ichiro up to bat against the Twin's Brad Radke now encompasses my computer screen. I am saddened by the loss of favorites Mark McGwire, Cal Ripken Jr. and Tony Gwynn, especially Ripken. Regardles of popular belief, Cal IS the best infielder in that game (Sorry, Derek, buddy). Hopefully with the rise of BYB'03, will come more cheats. I think the employment of cheat codes could do no harm to the game. ...!! Well, the dawn of a new Backyard game is coming, and while I can't make the Yankees lose the World Series in the real world, perhaps my Mariners can pull of a few '03 miricales in the Backyard Realm. Until then, Jah Backyard Peeps, RIDE ON! go M's, make them yanks cringe. Out.

A very fun game...

I LOVE the backyard series. I have all the games. Personally, backyard baseball is my favorite. Well, anyways, I was very excited when I heard this game was comming out, but then thought it might be too similar to backyard soccer. Well, it is kindof similar, but it is very fun. There are about 6 fields and all the famous backyard kids are back, too. So, this game is overall good, but not a whole lot different than the soccer one....I'm still waiting for a Backyard Volleyball to come out!!Oh, guess what..one more thing...all the backyard kids have aged alittle and look different.

Backyard Baseball 2003 is the best game I've ever played. While playing you can pick players that have returned such as K.Griffey Jr., S.Sosa, D.Jeter and many many more! You can also pick newcomers such as I.Suzuki, G.Vaghn, R.Sexson, J.Rollins etc. Backyard Baseball 2003 has came up with 4 new ballparks to hit some dingers, rbi's, singles, doubles, triples and more! You can also pick 30 mlb teams and 31 mlb players because Ja. Giambi and D. Jeter are the 2 Yankees. Take it from me. Backyard baseball 2003 is the #1 game Humongus Entertainment has made. Also the best anyone has made. So go buy Backyard Baseball 2003!

I just got this as a gift and I really love it! I have backyard soccer and backyard baseball and I was very excited to get this present. But, on the third game of backyard hockey it got easy. I still lose sometimes, but I win a lot too. I think most kids will like this, even if they don't play hockey (I don't). My mom likes this game because I can adjust the length of the periods (3,5, or 10 minutes/period).

It's awesome

Looks like a great game/idea just like the rest of the series HOWEVER if you are a Mac user ... This version is Win ONLY, despite [the] label. The company informs me a Mac version is 'in the works'. Hopefully it's soon.

Excellent game for kids :o)

I bought all of the Backyard games for my son, starting when he was six. He absolutely loves them and they are really easy to follow. He is eight now and we keep buying him the new editions as they come out. It is a great gift for any child 5-12.

Best Game YET

This is the best game in the Backyard Series by far. The graphics are far superior and the game is more challenging. At first glance you can easily see that the kids look like they're 5 years older. Also, when playing you're first game the gameplay is quick and it might take a game or two to get used to. When you start you are also not in the traditional clubhouse start menu. There are secret rinks, coaches, and players (Possibly Mario or Lindros?)which you can earn. The players include Curtis Joseph, Martin Brodeur, Jarome Jagr, Mike Modano, Jarome Iginla, Paul Kariya, Joe Thornton, Steve Yzerman, Joe Sakic, and ,urs truly, Brian Leetch of the Rangers. Also u can choose from a 18-30 game season plus playoffs. Practice makes perfect with this game. Enjoy!

BBY 2003 is a whole lot better than BBY 2001. Get the picture?
BBY 2003 has rad new sounds like the swings, connections with
the bat & ball etc. New people are doing voices for Vinny, Sunny
and the players. A dissapointment in BBY 2003 is a loss of 3
all-stars: Mark Mcgwire, Mo Vaghn and Cal Ripken Jr. Mac was always avalible for some reason. He was a guy I counted on all
the time. Hit Dog was usually 3rd in the batting order so we could get a man on for Sosa or Mcgwire at cleanup to knock it out of the park. Albert Puljos has replaced Mark Mcgwire for his powerhouse hitting and a Gold Glove kind of guy. Greg Vaghn of the D'Rays has replaced his cousin Mo but Greg will never be as good as the Hit Dog. Jeff Conine has replaced Cal Ripken with a 3000 hit aditude and super at 3rd. Ichiro is just amazing in the outfield, basepath and the plate. BBY 2003 is a "mom can I get this?" kind of game.
