Let's speak bluntly: these games appeal to the same few thousand buyers who keep this genre predictably profitable. Big Biz Tycoon tries to spice up its well-worn premise by blending the traditional formula with elements of The Sims, but the result is a game that shrinks both genres.

You're placed in command of a fledgling company as you research, sell, and market products-buth this sequel adds handling tasks as mundane as decorating your offices and providing water for your employees. That's right: all the tedious aspects of The Sims, plus spreadsheets!

Running your own company in Big Biz Tycoon 2 is a real hassle. You'r a one-man dynamo, simultaneously playing the roles of CEO, CFO, and Martha Stewart as you balance budgets, hire and fire workers, delegate tasks to individual employees, and even choose between carpet and tile for your company's breakroom. If you focus only on the business aspect of the game, you'll find your employees standing around whining about the lack of air conditioning. We can understand having to deal with such minutiae in a small business, but even when your compan has grown to larger proportions, you still have to oversee every last detail of its operation.

The hassles of playing BBT 2 are worsened by its piss-poor documentation. The cursory manual and tutorial leave out many of the details on how to actually play the game, meaning you're stuck learning by trial and error-very frustrating when your business is at stake.

Other gripes include the game's mediocre 3D graphics enginge (which operates at a fixed resolution of 1024x768)and numerous bugs-I encountered everything from occasional crashes to show-stoppers that were fixed only when I started a new game.

Ultimately, Big Biz Tycoon 2's lack of polish and overemphasis on micromanagement overshadow the potential of the underlying concept.

Many Problems but a fun game

My wife and I go this and play it together. I have found several bugs in the code. For example when doing research/prodution/advertising you CAN assign multiple employees to the task. It says that the time to complete the task is reduced however after testing with 1-6 people on one project the time is not actually reduced. Keep this in mind. You can actually go pretty far by just having one employee on each project as long as their stats meet the minumum. You CAN succeed with just a few employees or you can have a slew of producers making every product available. Once you get the hang of this "Bug/flaw" you can stop wasting money and spend most of your time watching for prices to rise so you can sell and not go bankrupt. I have alot of problems with stability. If moving a chair that is used by an employee it will crash. Moving the Air conditioner outside will also cause a crash. Dont do those things and you can become a successful Biz Tycoon. I am just hoping for a patch.
Activision VALUE shouldn't be know as Activision Trying to make something. Great ideas but its missing some follow through. I agree this should have been a BETA not a final release. If the bugs can be worked out this would be a high paced game. Otherwise I would say its pretty addictive even with the bugs

Fun For Business, not for Graphics

I think this game is fun, but that is because I like tycoon games and business. Though it is fun, if you want great graphics/quality, I recommend The Sims Series. In the game:

You start out with cash (depending the level you set it to)
There are three different cities: Tokyo, Hamburg, And NYC.
They come in handy with selling your products across the globe, each city has a different layout, and I think you might be able to build offices in three different cities.
With the cash, you also start with a logo, a company name, and an office (You can choose these)
Your office is empty, and you need to furnish it. Hire employees that have attributes and claims on salaries. Research products, advertise, produce, and sell. Some products take longer to make and are more expensive than others. Sell and make profit. How much the products sell for depensd on the demand and the advertsiment. You need objects in your office because the employees have desires. Each week you have bills and they brake them down. The better the object, the more money it costs each week. You need security so opponents in business don't destroy your things or steal your technology. By the way, you have opponents. Click on their offices to see their budget, rank, ect. You can crush them or they can crush you. (Business Wise) Take out loans at the bank or invest your money.

The game is more simple than it sounds, but I would recommend it to people 10 years and older.

The game has some errors, though, and it might not work, but it could work fine. It depends on which computer you have.

You cannot control the time though. Each second is 4 minutes, and each hour is 15 seconds. The game goes for 24/7, and sometimes it can get tiring.

All together, I think it is fun. (But I still can't figure out what turnover means)

Big Biz Tycoon 2 is just another fabulously entertaining and enjoyable entry into the tycoon series. For starters, you have to build your own business by naming it anything you want and choosing your own building location in one of three cities: New York, Hamburg, and Tokyo. Your competition includes Tahiro Nobanaga, Vicky Vegas, Big Al, Jack Knight, and Lady Margaret. From there, you can hire employees and, if you need to, take out a loan to put your company on sure footing. Once your employees are hired, assign a few employees to research the product of your choice and also a product that your budget can pay to research.
After your research your product, you can produce it by making packages of the product to sell, then you advertise it, and then you sell it. When you advertise it, you can choose to advertise by four different methods, with TV advertising being the most expensive and flyer advertising being the least expensive. When you sell your product, you can sell it either locally or open up subsidaries in the other two cities that your business is not operating out of, like, let's say, you have a business in New York, if you pay $30,000 each you can open up subsidaries in Tokyo and Hamburg. The key is: don't take out a loan! Just pick employees with good characteristics and let them complete the research little by little, even if you are VERY tight on money at first.
See, what happens is you have about $15,000 to start at the hardest level. Buy desks, seats, lamps, waste-baskets, and computers (medium-quality ones) and of course, get the highest security system at first, then hire your employees. Don't forget to buy a floor for your building, complete with toilets, walls, wash basins, snack & coffee machines, refrigerators, an air conditioner and other items that will keep your employees happy and that will make for a pleasant environment to work in. After that, you should have just a few dollars left, and you can use that to start your research. By the time your research is complete on the teddy bear (the first item), you should be able to produce about one teddy bear and then production will stop. Advertise, if you can, and when you're done advertising or if you don't have enough to advertise, then just sell the bear. When you sell it, you should have a little more to produce the next bear.
Each time, you'll have more money than the previous round and you'll be able to produce and research more products. With a profitable business, there are three actions you can take against your opponents, which are spying, sabotaging, and headhunting. With money and equipment, you can use these techniques on your opponents, but take note, they can also use them on you. That's why you need to buy a top-notch security system, steel door and safe right off the bat. Even though it is a lot of money, trust me, without the best security system, steel door and safe, a lot of the products you have previously manufactured will be stolen and you will have to begin research all over on them; this will happen SEVERAL times even with the second-best security system, door and safe. The only flaw with this game is that when I open a business in New York, I can click on my opponents' profiles and sabotage/spy/headhunt by clicking on their buildings from the game's skycam, but in Hamburg and Tokyo you're not able to click on their profiles; the screen just flickers. Oh, well. Final tips: hire a maximum of three employees and don't buy a huge building until you win the game. And yes, if you win, TRUST me, you will have more than enough.

The game is a lot better then the first. Gameplay is great.

Pros:

You get to start you dream business in 3 cities

The workers can use the stuff you buy unlike the first game

Free mode

cons:

The workers are always saying complaints

The music is bad

over all i think it's a great game

The graphics are fair for a game of this type but the game play is horrible. This schould be a beta, not the final release. some controls are not documented. You can not control the rate of time.

it is fun but it has many flaus. very unreall you can only have one employee do something. if you want to have your prouduct advertized it wont let you because your prouduct isn't finished. do you know why? because it will never finish,i'v owned it for 3 months and my proudct hasn't been finished.
